It's cheap writing and incredibly lazy. The authorartist used to be better than this although the backside was the art was much more worse. Amnesia girl story also suffers the same thing. First chapter had so much potential, but not so much on second... third... It seems that really short stories are his/her strength. Producing interesting (or nice enough) yuri settings with a nice intro (that part is important since if you put the kicker right at the beginning, you hook the readers attention more quickly than slow buildups) that readers would like to see, but when he/she has to hold it for longer than a oneshot, he just loses it and resorts to things a yuri fan would like (happy things), but overall end up having meh storywriting levels. The oneshot is nice, but eh. This oneshot is all gushing, like Amnesia's gushing is getting among others is also incredibly tiresome. Bane of many writers, I suppose

TL for vampiress here. Just happened to see this thread as I was getting ready to go to sleep, and I saw that the image in the OP has some dithering on Irie's uniform and a few other places. The series gets more serious and more gachi yuri as it goes on (introducing more characters, such as a clear-cut lesbian couples), but it is not in a rush to make the main characters a couple. They do get development, such as Nekoyama giving serious thought to how she feels when she's invited on a date by Inugami, but it's on its way to a 6th volume and they aren't a couple yet.

Relative to manga in general, it's not really dragging things out (especially as it is primarily a gag manga), but since outright yuri manga have rarely got to a chance to run so long it may seem like that.

Even for nonyuri writers, this is a hassle. There is a faction of short story writers that believe in "if the story is a short, make the issue simple/easy or make no hurdle at all", and there are those who just don't mind the weight of the issue and either end up with an ending ranging from disgusting to alright, or a "why" Junji Ito ending which may or may not work because they have to condense it all into a short story. That's why short stories with actual fresh idea that is handled well from start to finish show talent and creativity. (Short doesn't mean you're less talented than those doing long, I mean.) This author falls into one of those categories, is good at exploring settings and types of characters he knows he can hit an itch then scratching that itch with whatever ideas he can get, but overall he's just good at recognizing what people want without having the continuing ideas to make the story the kind that will fire your almonds. It doesn't have to be angstshit to be 10/10 nor do you have to be some kind of lesbian visionary, you just have to try your best not to have a kicker setting, intro and characters only to drop the ball so hard by going for the lowest hanging fruit available. His older stuff while losing some of the energy that can be seen in his more recent works are at least handled better, like that "dear god, where are the girls that like girls" short. They will still probably end up together, but the author plays with the reader using the mischievous black haired girl without having it all be shrieking, cherubins floating in the skies, everyone approving of you, etc.

I do have the Japanese raws and took a quick glance some weeks ago. It wasn't very interesting, I heard the characters lack development and are kinda bland.
But...I'm currently trying to translate the Vietnamese version, just to test my skills. Do not expect a great translation, I should have it finished soon.

I'll get the other chapters done eventually. The translation is made for reading purposes only and is a direct translation from Vietnamese with some changes made from the Japanese raws. (Also, shouldn't this be posted in the translation thread?)
