With the dedication Fareeha has to being a soldier and her work at Helix indicates that she puts her job and being a soldier above possibly even personal relationships on an intimate level. The "Angela!" line was out months before the chocolate thing and was followed by "Genji! I was too late..." in the next update. I really don't count that rest of the stuff as any major plot progression. Those are just tiny details we have found about our characters. What I really am looking for is at least Winston's Recall being acknowledged as having some sort of effect because it is the event that kicked the entire plot off, and everyone is just ignoring it. Legally, at least in America, 18 is considered an adult. Now obviously society might debate whether the person is an adult or young adult but regarding the government that's adulthood. Going by Korean standards Hana would be counted as 20 instead of 19 with how they do ages over there. As for why people might like it, a variety of reasons that are probably rooted in romantic ideals or sexual kinks. I know my liking of age gap stems from incest but that was usually a 20 year old with someone in their forties since devoured mother/daughter aunt/niece stuff. When it comes down to it though a lot of age gap generally avoids the realities of such a pairing but I think they'd be a fun thing to explore, even if they never do get explored.

I think the big case with Hana is how as she's presented currently, she's still a kid personality-wise. She's an e-celeb that was drafted then became an idol before going back to being an e-celeb. I'm sure if they emphasized her military history it'd help in straightening out her image and moving away from having her be the defacto child of OW. As for actual age-gap, it's strange. Almost any and all art/writing tends to focus on a large gap that would produce a dynamic between two different worlds coming together. When in reality, a normal age-gap couple would be like a decade a part or so. Say someone in their late 30s dating someone in their mid to late twenties. That's more realistically but then runs into the problem of being "boring" because all they do is adult things unless it's like scifi/fantasy or adventure. I guess a part of it also involves how the west/east views romance influencing how people get into age gap. I can't really comment about the east, but the west seems to view it as a big adventure thing. Where as just two adults getting together without any sort of drama or hijinks would be viewed as boring despite leading to wonder fluff about domesticity and contentment after the honeymoon phase.

That's like saying you'd enjoy killing people because you like FPS. While I don't think it's relevant at all, I'll answer your question anyway since you asked. Yeah, being 23 I'm on the younger side of the spectrum, so dating, say, a 19 year old is not an issue. I have no issue with older partners either, I'm talking 15, 20 years older.

What also baffles me is how people here just label all 19 year olds as immature or not qualified as adults. I get that you might've had bad experiences with younger partners, but to just generalize like that is what I don't understand. For me, you have to treat each person individually, their age being, if not completely irrelevant, secondary. I know it's not an argument but I know married couples with 15-20+ age gap between them and so happy together. There's just so much more to a relationship that worrying about age seems superfluous. If it's physical appearance then well, that applies to every age group, if it's mentality then, again, it applies to everyone. When you click, you click. they're not wrong, most 19 year olds ARE dumb still. that's not superficial, it's a logical generalization. you gave the reason in your post, experiences and choices shape who we are. in america, at least, 19 year olds usually aren't at a point in life that has given them the same experiences as people who are out of college, or have been working and pursuing a career. there will be a small handful of exceptional ones, just as there's more 30 year olds with the mindset of a teenager.

this gap in experience means there is a distinct lack of common ground and shared shit people have gone through. that is part of building and maintaining relationship. a 19 year old dealing with midterms ain't the same as a 34 year old having to choose employees to let go. having a "click" between two people, as much as it's great to read about and see in movies, is not actually enough to maintain a healthy, long-term relationship.

as people get older the age-gap causes of a problem in terms of shared experiences. things start to even out.

I agree, but there's a generally correlation between age and how much common ground you're going to have going into a relationship. this can range to having grown up with the same movies to having similar knowledge in a given field of work or study. priorities tend to change as well.
