I was reading about Japanese rockabilly culture. Most of the girls dress like girls from the 50s with poodle skirts and the like, but there are a lot of girls that'll dress like the guys, taking up the Greaser look with leather jackets, sunglasses, t-shirts and often even pompadours/ducktails. It reminded me of Johnny Bravo.

You know how in yuri manga, there's often a character that will openly discuss conventions of yuri ficton, especially if the setting is an all-girls' school? Sometimes she's a girl desperate to find love with a senpai or something?

All I could think of was it taken to deranged extremes, where you have some more-benign-than-delinquent rockabilly girl birddogging her classmates and throwing out lines like, "hey, foxy onee-sama, what say you and me go find a secret garden and fix each other's ties?" and shit like that.

I was rewatching the RLM Star Wars reviews the other night and he repeatedly talks about how the character relationships are written such that they need to just outright say "these characters are friends/lovers" rather than actually showing them behaving like friends/lovers.

It made me laugh how it's basically the opposite problem when it comes to yuri where two characters can 100% behave like lovers but because they don't turn to the camera and say "WE'RE HOMOSEXUALS IN A HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIP" people say there's nothing there.

I just saw this manga for the first time when /a/ posted that it was getting an anime. It was the first time I had even heard of it. It only has two tank volumes with a third coming out in a month or so. That's barely enough to do one season unless its a short.
