Hopefully we see or hear what happened between Mimi disappearing and Papika breaking out of Flip Flap.

The problem is that we would need more PapikaxMimi backstory and with the flashbacks so condensed this episode, it's highly unlikely we will get some in depth look at their adventuring days. And this is the bad writing in an otherwise nicely crafted show. We'll get flat out told by Papika that she prefers Cocona now (even though she literally needed Yayaka to verbally bully her into even wanting to help her supposed loved one). Show, don't tell. Instead of seeing how different the PapiMimi dynamic is so we have something to juxtapose the PapiCoco scenes and point to in an attempt to justify when Papika's feelings are called into question, it's just going to be a 'just cause' explanation.

The entire show was about Cocona slowly growing up and possibly coming to terms with being romantically/sexually attracted to another girl. In the meantime, Yayaka got her own arc that redeemed her and elevated her to a position where she was worthy of being by Cocona's side. What did Papika get? She couldn't even bother her ass to save her supposedly loved one before Yayaka verbally beat her ass down. She is pretty much a plot device at this point and I can't fathom how they can give her a proper arc and redeem her in two episodes. And just to top it all off, they randomly shove a character who barely had a line and have no connection or chemistry with Yayaka just so she gets something. Now, I don't want to sound like a banevading autist, but you know what? This is actually what you can call shitting on a character. By the authors no less. Okay, I get it, they want PapiCoco. Then develop then. Okay, you want Yayaka to have someone. Then develop then! The twins did nothing, just switch them with Nyunyu and show her interaction with Yayaka in all the other episodes. Bamm, how hard? A random yurifag on the internet solved your flawed narrative. Up until episode 7 this was AOTS, but they just had to mess it all up.

I think part of Mimi's nature will remain with Cocoa and she will become more confident from then on. Maybe they'll even have Papika not kiss Cocona before the final ED (Over the Rainbow) plays, leaving everyone disapponted, but then in part C, it's Cocona who forcefully kisses Papika and says she'll never let her go.
