If you just want the extra accessories and have zero interest on SK, then is not really worth it. BA is pretty simplistic for a rhythm game and it's biggest appeal is to offer more SK to its fans.

The accessories SHOULD go on sale later on a standalone pack that SHOULD be cheaper than buying BA.

So, it all comes down to if you like SK or not and how many money you're willing to splurge.

When playing as Mana Inagawa as liberator in "drive 02" of the story with Momo Kuzuryū as exter the game is "kind of" freezing in mid air Phantom Dashes. The buttons respond (I can light up Mana's feet with hold down x, pivot the camera, and have the girls make their grunt sounds), but nothing moves on screen and I can't continue combat. Pausing and going to the options screen doesn't solve the problem. The only way to get out is to either tell it to retry the mission, or to exit the game completely.

Last I had heard the MireMamo combo was to be released on the 13th, and that's today.

I'm not surprised that Mirei and Mamori are stuck as liberators and extars, but I am surprised by the lack of being able to pick other partners. In the anime we know they were both capable of functioning with other partners.

Given their restrictions do you feel they were worth the price you paid for them?

For those who have played the Japanese version and bought the combo content pack were they included with it? Trying to figure out if I should buy them when they are available, or wait if they are offered in a pack.

There's also the fact that going by what Mirei says in the Dining Room when you speak to her, they're from after the anime ended, and at that point, I doubt they'd want to pair up with anyone else (or need it, really)

Aside of being completely unique to her, there are a few nods to the anime in the animations of the attacks. Her Phantom Fall has her stab the ground with Mamori in the same way she did in Episode 2 and she poses in the same way that the main visual of the anime in her intro.

The way she grows wings of energy from Drive three onwards is also cool as fuck.

If you've seen the anime (last episodes) then you know that they showed Rinka and Ranka on a hill when MireMamo went full Valkyrie, and they commented about it showing they themselves had either gone it, or seem someone else go it before MireMamo did. We also have MireiMamo on the boat going to free other islands after that, so it makes since that they wouldn't arrive until after the game is over. . I'm waiting until I complete the game before I buy/download the character add-ons.

It would be nice if we got story and (new) missions with the character add-ons, but that was probably more time and work then they wanted to put into it.

I don't know how the Japanese version sold, but if it sold good, and the NA and European versions have sold good maybe there is a slight chance of a add-on or game sequel even after this much time from the original Japanese release.

According to Media Creates, the game sold 40,717 units on its first week, with a sellthrough of 80% for the standard edition. While we don't have concrete numbers on the LE, it did sold out at most retailers (Takaki reported it sold 90% of its stock back then) and around February of this year it had lifetime sales of 60k copies.

While certainly not close to the mytical 90k units of SV, is for all intent and purposes a success. And Marvelous clearly thinks the same since it bothered on re release it on a "GOTY" edition this January. Something that AFAIK it had only happened to Estival Versus' PS4 version.

In the west, one of PQube's employees admitted the game was a success for such a niche title and there are still some shortages on the game everywhere. Particularly for the LE

Plus the game rarely moved from the first spot on Amazon's Vita best Selling titles since it was up for preorder.

Coupled this facts with Kaneko's tweet about VD being far from over and I'd say the odds for a sequel (and maybe even a second anime season) are looking pretty good.

Although I doubt they will add more DLC at this point.

I've heard the game doesn't crash as much without the HQ sound DLC.
My theory is that something went wrong with the sound stuff during localization.. Because bringing the game over with every jap update made it too big for PSN, so they had to compress the sound and make a separate HQ sound DLC to reduce the actual game's filesize
Since the sound thing is exclusive for the west (again, due to the western version having every update patch from the japanese version already applied), that's where the issues that weren't in the jap version are likely coming from

So what's up with Manpukumaru's name? I see some translations name her as Manpukumaru Chang, but the game's graphics all only refer to her as Manpukumaru. Is Chang a mistranslation when they are actually saying Manpukumaru-chan?

There's also a humorous bit where they question if Manpukumaru is actually supposed to Manpuku and Maru (last name & first name iirc) to which she doesn't really know. This scene also discredits Chang as being part of her name.

I'm not sure about the English version, but the Japanese version of the game says Chang in her mission intro. Either way, though, it's still pronounced Chan. From what I'm aware, it's just kind of meant to be a joke because her full name sounds like it has the -chan suffix attached, making it hard to tell whether somebody's referring to her with that suffix or using her full name. Koharu takes it to its extreme by calling her Manpukumaru-chan-san.

The secret mission where you have to break the 3 statues before your health runs out is fucking impossible. The robots that are supposed to heal you when you destroy them do not spawn fast enough and close enough to actually gain health from them. In the time it takes to get close to one you've lost more health than you gain from destroying them.

I think I recall in the training thing that it tells you how to activate healling potions, but I can't remember and when I pick up the green health globes it seems like they auto activate. The damn control area seems to have button assignment, but no description of how to trigger anything other than the basic combos.

I don't think I've played that one yet. I've played the one where there is four that you have to break in a certain time limit, and that was easy on my second try when I just dashed around in order of closest instead of wildly dashing from one to another at random.
The mission I'm have trouble with is the one taking out the flying bird (second time) in Chapter 20? I may have to look up strategy for it. The best I've done is to split it in to the blue and orange versions, and defeat the blue before I get finished off by the orange less than a minute later most of the time. Beating the blue at least I get some experience to try and level up my liberator (somewhere between level 34-4x right now).

For Gundari you need to focus in destroying her cores to stagger her. Then you keep using Drive Breaks to destroy the remaining cores. If you are fast enough, Gundari will be stunlocked through the whole fight.

Pqube released a nude patch for one of their other games. I wounder if that's something they could do for Valkyrie Drive even though its a port of a originally Japanese game. (I'd think they'd have to get approval from the original source creator(s), before they would be able to distribute their own edits/modifications/add-on content).
