In Chika's case, her early appearances have her pretty much being alpha to every girl and so people would assume she's top. Ironic since her flashbacks show she is shy and introverted whereas Honks flashbacks show her as extroverted and strung her BFF's along.

Honoka in truth, is quite alpha to everyone and at one point even getting Nozomi really flustered with a concentrated moment of gay, The only one Honoka capitulates to is Umi, and only when she gets on Umi's bad side. And to be fair, Umi can intimidate anyone like what happened in the Lily White drama CD

I really liked this Kanan/Mari/Dia fic. There's admittedly very little effort made to even pretend it happens in Japan, but the character interactions work very well and the sex scenes are hot, and I'm someone who usually skips them.

It's the greatest failing of this writer. Their fics are decent enough, but the suspension of disbelief doesn't last well or long to make up for the fact that the characters and setting being Japanese is such a significant influence over canon.

You and Yoshiko ride the bus together, so there is a natural place for them to interact without other characters around in a way that doesn't feel forced. They both like costumes and dressing up (and I'm not totally convinced You designed their fallen angel outfits by herself, she had to have had Yoshiko's help, right?). They both have energetic personalities that could probably go well together, and make scenes that were both silly and sweet/endearing. You has the ability to go along with Yoshiko's eccentricities more than most. They're both pretty outward and outgoing characters on the surface, but they both clearly have some deeper insecurities (You about not being important enough/being replaceable, and Yoshiko having her weird identity issues and needing to stand out).

I'm not hating on any of the ships, YohaRiko and YohaMaru are both fine by me, and I think Love Live is nice in that you can sort of ship whoever you like and it usually works out okay. I just think it's unfair to say that YouHane doesn't make any sense, or that it's not an appealing dynamic. Their dynamic is almost nonexistent so far, but the potential is there.
