There still doesn't seem to exist any art, but I'm in the process of writing a fic about the two. First chapter is [here](http://pastebin.com/AYJRgCAw). This is my first fic (or anything, really) I'm uploading, so I'm kinda self-conscious, so this is kind of a beta for me to get some feedback before properly uploading it. I'm not a native speaker, but I like to think my English is decent at least, if there's any mistakes, they're gonna be more subtle (like comma placement or so)

The first chapter doesn't have any actual yuri just yet, it's more setting the stage and stuff. Anyways I'd still appreciate it if anyone here cares to take a read and give me any feedback what to improve.

I am currently reading the Mafia Blake AU. It's really rather good and I'm enjoying the characterizations of pretty much the entire cast in this AU.

I am currently giving the last go over for my Crescent RosexRuby fic to get it posted up on AO3. As for what to write I'm bouncing between a Pollination comfy fic and something I've had in my head for a Soul Caliber one.

Current Status of RWBY? Fan works are pretty slick I'll give it that.

All right.

Costumes are far less flashy or customized than in canon RWBY, for obvious reasons. Lots of coveralls, patched up military outfits and jury rigged body armor. Only elites like the Schnee sisters, veteran Huntsmen and diehards like Coco can afford fancy dress, but personal touches like Yang's scarf survive. Gas masks and guns are mandatory for anyone venturing outside the settled stations.

One thing I'm not sure about yet is hair length. Women in the Metro keep their hair short or tied up, what with soap and clean water being scarce. I could try to incorporate this, but it would mean radically altering the appearance of some characters. I could see Yang leaving hers long even if it's not the norm.

Weapons are a mix of prewar hardware, imported by refugees fleeing to Vale as the other kingdoms collapsed, and improvised equipment manufactured in the Vale underground. I've got a few designs more or less nailed down.

-Crescent Rose is a basic folding scythe made from pieces of broken farm machinery. Ruby may add a gun module once she leaves VDAEx/Patch Station and gets some decent tools, but she'll be relying on a prewar rifle of some kind for ranged work.
-Myrtenaster starts out as a prewar rapier identical to the canon version. At some point Weiss loses it and has to make a replacement with Ruby's help. Myrtenaster Mk II incorporates a saber blade and the frame and lockwork of a Dust magnum similar to Ironwood's. Building it and learning to wield it effectively are important parts of Weiss's relationship with Ruby.
-Ember Celica's purpose is unchanged, but its design and construction reflect the quality of available materials. The gauntlets operate like wrist-mounted versions of Metro's automatic shotgun, with sheet metal covers that flip up to reload and clear frequent jams.
-Gambol Shroud is initially very simple, little more than a military handgun with a sword blade grafted to the frame. It was adequate for Blake's former life as a tunnel assassin, but she may add more features once Team RWBY reaches the surface.

Others that have been overhauled include Pyrrha (Greek themed armor replaced by a SWAT shield and riot gear) and Coco (handbag minigun split into a handbag submachine gun and the RWBYverse version of Metro's Abzats). Minor characters will probably have to be worked out case by case, unless their scenes have particular requirements set in advance.

Holy damn, that was a week ago. Uh, let's see. Personally, I like Mirror, Mirror (or rather, the extended version by that one guy on youtube - why is there no official full version of that one? I do think the author is pretty rough on those who criticize his update cycle because he has other stuff to deal with. I feel like you nailed kinda-sorta-medieval!Blake's vocabulary well with terms like "nautilus's shell" and "lodestone."
You could've elaborated Yang's draconic form more, for a while I thought that she was an actual dragon rather than a humanoid. Also, the "does it have to be a man?" line came a bit out of nowhere since Blake didn't know that she was a woman yet. If the monster had ended up actually being a man that would've been a rather awkward time to share views on same-sex relationships.
There were a few oddities I spotted in the first chapter:

To clarify, with the "Does it have to be a man?" stuff: up until that point in the story, Blake has always been open to the possibility that Yang could be male or female. If anything, I think the dress may have tipped her off to the idea that Yang's a girl. Yang is also a bit self-conscious at that point in the story; we never see her viewpoint, but I was thinking that she was concerned that Blake might not return her feelings if she knew she was a woman. It's an ungrounded fear, I think, because Blake didn't bat an eye when she saw Ruby and Weiss were lovers, but my thinking was Yang sees how much Blake is into fairy-tales and their (straight) romances, so she got self-conscious about it. For Blake, it's never been an issue--when she asks that, it's more out of curiosity, since Yang is making it a bigger deal than it needs to be. I probably could've made that clearer, but meh. I'm just glad it's done.

I did it. I did the thing. A few final changes were made and I've gotten to the point where I don't totally hate it. There's always the chance I will go back to alter something depending on feedback in order to make something suck less but hopefully this is done.

Very good, it's probably the best fic I've read. It's a trilogy so you should start with Innocence.
The first half of Innocence is just incredibly well-written slowburn White Rose with some Schnee family drama. Everything goes to hell halfway through when Cinder makes her move so after that there's plenty of suffering for all. It has its happy moments but if you don't like angst and moral ambiguity you should probably skip it.

As for the hive dilemma, I'd suggest no Aura since it wouldn't be real fitting though what you could do is allow some of the higher members like shielded knights, wizards, and acolytes access to a small sembalance. They're all ready pretty strong but the sembalance could be explained away a combination of the worm and Oryx's blessing or something that makes it an off-shoot of his own power that isn't the taken.

So have you figured out the classes? I'm getting a feeling RWBY would be composed of two hunters, a titan, and one warlock.

The classes seem pretty clear: Ruby Hunter Kinetic, Weiss Warlock Arc, Blake Hunter Void, Yang Titan Solar.

However I don't want to press-gang any characters into specific subclasses, they're gonna continue to use their signature weapons and Semblances, only upgraded in some fancy ways because space magic.

Like Ruby can impart her Speed to other objects or even air as kinetic force to always have some sort of projectile or grenade attack.
Weiss obviously gets her Glyphs powered up further to do all sorts of things.
Blake could create multiple clones, or maybe use shadows (or her actual shadow) to attack.
Yang can use the damage she receives not only to power up her punches, but also her Ember Celica, giving the damage back as fiery explosions.

Trying to enjoy Red Like Blood but finding it much, much less readable than Feel my heart.

Weiss is once again the relative dead weight in the pair, extremely dry dialog, and the world building is just not appealing at all. Normally I'm all for a tamer and less flashy version of the supernatural but this is just too much. There is almost no mystique or excitement about being a vampire in the story, yet at the same time, the convenience of certain plot elements and the prose don't really paint a serious, gritty world to accommodate the low fantasy.

I'm keeping my eye on a Nanoha/RWBY crossover (‘Hazredous’ Interruptions) that's surprisingly readable. So far the only real /u/ relevance is a bit of nanofate, but I think/hope it might be heading in a bumblebee and/or white rose direction too. I might have the gain set too high on my cybereyes.

They're having a dance soon and Nora has declared herself Queen of Courtship so there's a distinct possibility that all of my ships will go down in flames within a chapter or two.
