It's been years since a Strike Witches manga has last longer than a volume or two. Not sure how successful the Noble Witches novel has been, but I think it had four volumes last I checked

Well it used to BE popular, it still is as I said renowned, known well and easily recognized by the people still. I don't remember the exact numbers but I don't think OVA sales were that different from S2 times, not that they're really directly comparable.
It's still quite hot stuff in twitter with the nips and even some of the seiyuus like Mai tweet about Sanya related things which is endearing. And as always pixiv art comes out regularly. It's far from fucking 'ded'.

As far as know there's at least one sex scene in each volume, and it's not some fade to black sort of thing either, it actually describes Haruka fingering Tomoko. I've heard the authors other work, Familiar of Zero, also got really smutty and the anime actually toned it down a lot.

I think Tomoko sleeps with Haruka in Volume 1 and maybe Volume 2 (haven't read the whole thing). I remember a part where Liz does climb into Tomoko's bed but all she does is talk and then leaves.

I've read chinese translated version long time ago.

Honestly i thought yoshika was the second blandest character, the blandest one being bishop, not bland as a pairing, just very very bland as characters. But i guess it's trying to appeal to fans who wanted a 501st season 3.

Too much hype for Brave Witches.

Despite all of the Yoshika negativity that goes on I never thought that she detracted from the original series too much.

Her pervy tendencies could be funny, and I actually thought that she was cool in the movie when she was doing her best despite not having powers. Personally, I rank Lynette, Perrine, and Heidemarie as being less interesting.

Really the main argument is whether or not a character like this is even necessary for the new series. A rookie character like Yoshika is common in a setting like Strike Witches since it allows the focus character to be put into a similar position as the audience where they learn everything as they go along. Yoshika's inoffensive personality also allowed her to gel with most of the other characters so we could give them focus and learn their stories each week. Yoshika's existence made sense from a narrative standpoint with the series being new to many.

However, Strike Witches is no longer a new series that many have never heard of before. Its pretty well known, its' world is familiar, and the 502nd cast is one that many fans already have some sort of experience with. I suppose they're hoping that many new fans will jump onto the series with this latest season, but it feels like we really don't need to have a newbie main character to hold our hand anymore, and I think that the 502nd was interesting enough to stand on its own.
