Yeah, that was my main problem, RTSs on consoles are a no-no. To finish the game I just played in the easiest difficulty.

Chikane didn't die for this shit.

Also played War of the Lilies. Despite being labeled an RPG it really has only two turn-based fights with no combat animations that is impossible to lose unless you're retarded and is petty much a linear VN. Pretty short story about a lesbian queen refusing to enter a political marriage for the sake of producing an heir and running away with her bodyguard lover, framed within a story about a theater troupe putting on a play about said queen. Not the worst way to kill 20 minutes.

What are your expectations to Mass Effect Andromeda, /u/? Of course there will be lesbian romance but I hope we get a good romance. Unlike Sera.

I wish it was like Dragon Age 2, where you can romance all (or most) women but we know it's not going to happen.

What about Fallout 4? They really force the het start?

Pls no, outside of being largely a cop out they were pretty generic.
My hopes are non-existent since I think it's still a year or three.
As for FO4: Yes, you're married in the beginning but the guy/husband gets gotted within the first half hour right in front of your face. You still have a son though. Bigger spoilers there's some speculation based around leaked stuff that one of the endings has you do something to make a replicant of your dead hubby/waifu but that seems more up to the player so it can be avoided.
It's basically giving you a way to either move on or resign yourself. However best french companion is romance-able and female.

Written in the Sky is straightforward yuri with an okay sex scene. I wouldn't say it's worthwhile, exactly, but if you don't have anything better to do for 15 minutes then why not.

The ending was way more interesting than the rest of the VN, though.

Also played I Want To Marry The Princess, had some frustrating parts because of how goddam slippery you are combined with how you have to nail the jumps perfectly, but was not too difficult. Had good music and excellent artwork.

Yeah. I got a game over when I seduced her so I figured the only real way through is good old fashioned brawling which netted me what I assume was the good end seeing as how the main character got laid, I didn't get a game over and I saw the credits roll.

I really don't understand writing "tragic lesbian" stories in this day and age, especially if you're working on something dumb like a western VN. If you're working on one of those, you almost certainly don't have the skill to match the tragic stories of the past, so it'd actually come off as less hokey if you just went full wish-fulfillment and wrote nothing but courting every girl you come across.

I'm guessing someone is uncomfortable with the Yuri, but dare not speak out against LGBT, so as not to bust their progressive street cred.

In my opinion, I don't really like the idea that there's got to be some fixed way a female character should behave. And if not, that's "wrong" or something. It's really a matter of taste or preferences.

Your rationalization is only one possibility, but in an open world game like this a lot of people want to make their characters wholly their own. It isn't too unreasonable for people to want a sense of freedom over what they can imagine their character's life was like.

Never know, Bethesda themselves might unlock the option in an upcoming patch if enough people are making noise about it. If not, someone out there will mod the game to swap out the female character's husband storyline for a wife, and then everyone can be happy that their lesbian character has a dead wife.

I made a cute looking muscular tomboy character, and I enjoyed being able to (first 30 minutes story spoiler) unlock my husband's cryo chamber leave him to rot, before running off to find my wasteland girlfriend.

Yeah, but he got locked back inside afterwards. I just unlocked his cryo chamber and didn't go for the prompt for whatever obnoxious dialogue they probably scripted.

I don't have high hopes for Bethesda's writing at any point in this game, but I can roleplay in my own head perfectly well enough, and the game runs very well- except the FOV reverts to 80 automatically, seemingly.

Also I only spent like 15 minutes on character creation, but it's actually gives pretty good results, at least in the creation screen. She sort of looks like Padma Lakshmi.

So what's the verdict on Seisai no Resonance? From the CG set it looks pretty good. The MC is cute and it looks like there's a few different routes.

New Vegas handles it 'best', I think. I've got some mixed feelings about Hanako Games.

Long Live the Queen, I felt, was their worst game. You could train the princess in all sorts of ways, but most of those were wrong and you could be doomed without knowing you were doomed. That's not much fun.

Magical Diary was OK. I appreciated how the different dungeons had multiple solutions so you could solve 'em with different kinds of magic. But it was a bit too anime Harry Potter for my tastes.

Black Closet's pretty fun. The basic goal of just staying in power until graduation is somewhat challenging, but still not very difficult if you know what you're doing. I wouldn't want to be stuck with an adopted child any more than I want the blood-related child. I dislike the fact that they force this family situation on the player, period. Even if you could have a same-sex spouse, I'd still prefer the option to start out single. This, combined with the fact that your character has a voice and actual lines, speaking frequently outside of your control, takes a lot away from the role playing value.
All of this would be fine in a game with a static character, but if you're gonna have character customization, you should give the played as big a canvas as possible.

Yeah I feel like Long Live the Queen is something you kind of have to be into to enjoy, otherwise it will just be frustrating. That being said, I love it, and the fact that it has gotten a number of free updates is very nice. I also really enjoy the political side of it as I play a lot of other games with that kind of stuff, but I always focus on other things in my playthroughs and never get to really appreciate all the political shit that is going on in the background. I feel like it could benefit heavily from a quick map with family trees that could be accessed from the pause menu. I also feel like more ways were added to avoid deaths? Like I don't remember being able to use court manners to ignore the chocolates before. Could be completely wrong on that though, as I got a dog in every run to avoid that event after I had it once or twice.

Speaking of which you can be a villain in it, and there are several yuri ends. One or two of which involve people basically being your sex slaves I believe, for that anon who wanted yuri villains.

I never finished a game of magical diary for some reason but I enjoyed it. I guess I was never aware of how much /u/ was in it when I played it, and so my goals always revolved around other things instead. Kept getting in this loop of wanting to restart to find out all the different ways to solve the puzzles and trying to become class president.

Black Closet I played long before the current release and enjoyed it quite a bit, though after the first game I had figured out most of the ways to solve the majority of the cases which made things a little repetitive, I am not sure if updates since then has fixed that up. The gameplay is very unique and interesting, and that boss fight was pretty great.

There is some connection between Ithaqua and IDHAS though I'm not clear what it is. They're not the same people. That said, though, much of what people have been saying about the game here is being blown out of proportion. The protagonist is clearly a lesbian. It's not a game with romance options (I think it was originally a kinetic novel, no choices at all), it's about the protagonist's long and often-frustrated search for love. So yes, she gets turned down along the way. However, the supposed scene with the guard is because it WASN'T the same person in the bath, this is made pretty clear if you're actually reading it. And that's a pity, because VTMB is one pretty neat RPG, and a very immersive kind that jives well with your female protagonist. I promise you, it all fits seamlessly into the world, and has no effect on you being a big, total lesbian. You have all your Yuri moments with female humans and vampires. And if you do things right, you get to have vampire sex with a certain Lady vampire (although since it's a dated game, you use your imagination, instead of seeing). And, if you do things rightly, you also get your own live-in human "ghoul" girlfriend (You are given an apartment as your home base, which starts off crappy but you get a nicer one if you play your cards tight).

One problem I see is that to access all Yuri scenes and some other interactive dialogue options for that matter, is dependent on high seduction/subterfuge skills or you will lose out.

Same goes for some interesting story bits and stuff that gets you intrigued in the world. Need high hacking skills and lock-picking in some cases.

Please don't. VTMB is, at least in my opinion (and many others I suppose) one of the best RPGs ever made regardless if you are into yuri or not.

And if you ARE into yuri/lesbians, I would simply recommend it more heavily due to the large amount of gay interactions in it. To add on to >>1913793 here, Seduction would be the main stat you would want for the yuri stuff and it happens to be the best social stat with the most dialogue options. Males and females have a few differences with seduction but I am still pretty sure for a female character it is still the best, due to the fact that I can only remember one woman in the game who was not gay. All the blood dolls are female too, and you have to hit on them to drink.

Just don't do a Nosferatu run, as that kind of disqualifies you from a lot of interactions due to how ugly you are (though some interactions remain but are completely different, such as the pawn shop guy complimenting the work you got done.) Don't do a Malkavian either, simply because those are by far the best on a second playthrough due to the fact that 90% of their dialogue in the game is completely different (with lots of new responses as well) and foreshadows things in a spoiler-y way.

No RPG has ever had 100% separate scripts. However, in VTMB you as a woman are addressed as one often enough, I believe.

While this includes some of the Yuri options, ironically, it's with other interactions that your gender becomes more apparent. Like, in the beach house quest, when you go up to the head honcho at the back, if you are a woman, he is amused at you, and acts like he is a guy magnet who draws babes (like you) to him. You also get the option to seduce him to pass the quest.

Whereas if you are a guy, he brings out the tough man to man act. And you don't get to seduce him, but you can use other social skills to deal with the quest.

And also, there is the security guard who hits on you as a woman non-stop (once you get access to downtown), always asking you for a date, if you, uh, choose to seduce him back in Santa Monica, which is only available if you play a female.

I loved playing as a Toreador or Ventrue as well. I haven't fully played as a Malkevian yet, but it's a riot for sure! As the other anon said, it's a lot better on the second round, where you get the jokes, as well as more insight into the storyline.

That's what always irked me with the yuri in this game. Any flirting/seduction/sexual content with men is restricted to a female player character, but the huge majority of flirting/seduction/sexual content with women is available to a player character of any gender - the only exception being the previously mentioned Giovanni mansion. Draw whatever conclusions you wish from that, if any.

Pretty sure you can flirt with men as a male vampire. Either that, or Toreadors are so gay they break the rules of the game.

It's really not that big of a deal. You kind of have to undergo the embrace to become a vampire in the first place and it is kind of a sexual thing. Your sire in the cutscene is the gender you did not play of your clan, and there are only two player models for each clan so if it was the same gender it would just be your clone. Your sire also gets their head chopped off about 30 seconds later anyway.

The list of great games with /u/ in them is too short to be picky about the first 30 seconds that only exist to explain why you are a fresh vampire. I'd say to go look for a mod to change it but honestly it is so insignificant that I assume noone has bothered to make one.

That is true, and does kind of irk me sometimes as well, but I think VTMB is probably more fair in that regard.

I don't know exactly how many male on male seduction attempts there are (surely not even half the number of female to female, due to how many of those exist) but right at the very start you can seduce the business man outside your apartment, and I believe only a male can seduce him.

I am not really into that kind of thing though so I would not know how many others there are.

Yes, that is pretty much how WoD vampires work.

A vampire's bite feels like an orgasm, basically, for both parties involved. And they have to drain your blood first to make you a vampire, which is usually done by biting.

Most of it, at least. Once you get into things like the Nosferatu, Malkavians, and Tzimisce it quickly becomes notsexy unless you are into really, really weird shit. Gangrels can qualify too, depending on how many times their frenzies have left them with animal traits.

Seduction and social interaction are huge in it though, even with some vampires being able to cheat with mind control.

Played Princess' Maid from the Yuri Game Jam thing. The art was really great and it's not badly made, although the romance in the routes did feel sort of shoehorned.

One of the better things released for this project, I think.
