You may only post in this thread to apologize to MJA or discuss how the Jews run hollywood and ruined Twin Peaks. Or about how David Lynch RAPED his own daughter and wrote a show about it.

How do we stop these crosspostering pieces of shit? They're not even blatant about it anymore
>>
>>87309032
I guess it's more like "why does Coop keep trusting these beings/following their orders". It all depends on whether you think he truly did fuck up or not and whether the Fireman and MIKE ever gave a shit about Cooper beyond getting BOB back/keeping their version of order in the Lodge (meaning having the doppelganger back precisely after 25 had passed).
>>
>>87308997

They are blatant. They aren't being subtle
>>
>>87309237
BOB was a force of nature, very impulsive and hard to control. He's like a xenomorph basically, more animal than anything. MIKE (after he lost his arm, if we believe him ofc) and the Fireman are different and hve more tact, so to speak. That's why I've never wanted to say they're specificalyl the good guys of the story, it's far to simplistic.

The Canadian-sourced webrip has it as "For 25 years you've seen her". The audio is changed as well. Very odd, since it appears all other sources have it "I'm 25 years your senior". At this point, it's possible Lynch has hidden alternative lines and meaning in difference episodes, and released them to different countries. We really need to get on this and find all such instances

There is no why.

>>
Here we go, my take.

Judy aka Demon God gets into our realm during atomic blast.
Laura Palmer is dimensional white lodge Jesus type creation to save us.
Laura gets trapped in endless rape and abuse to bring her down by Black Lodge spirits and Judy's underlings.
Laura dies but not really as she is white lodge creation.
Laura DREAMS Dale Cooper saving her.
Dale Cooper becomes real at the end aka Richard.
Cooper at the very end starts to realize this.
Dream collapses and Laura wakes up.

Laura survives her death but nothing really changed as Judy still exists.

Basically FUTURE REFUSED TO CHANGE...

This was very weird and flawed, though. It would've been better if she wasn't mentioned at all. Instead they mention her once via the note, but nothing else ever, and Diane is Coop's main squeeze even though the last time we saw him he was obsessed with Annie.

i loved this series of twin peaks but the finale was really unsatisfying. i wasn't expecting much in the way of closure, but i at least expected something powerful. instead it was mostly just boring and confusing, and then it ended. it was like one of those weak episodes you sometimes get halfway through a series, but you're not that bothered by it because you know there'll be a good one next week. except there isn't. it's just done.

i genuinely think inland empire and lost highway made more sense than this.

James was a typical meathead. He learnt nothing throughout the series, even deep into Season 2 when his out of town affair storyline was by far the worst thing in Season 2, keeps getting used as fuccbois by multiple women. He barely had two brain cells that rubbed together.

Compare this to Bobby's character arc, from being a drug dealer, to a reformed working man under Ben Horne, making amends his relationship with his parents, and becoming an upstanding cop in the town.

The more I think about them, it seems they were hints that Audrey is not living in the same reality we're seeing (until the finale). All the characters, names, and situations involving her and the Roadhouse barflies are completely separate from everything else and never clearly explained. She complains about not feeling like herself.

One episode goes from her last appearance being her choking Charlie, to the next being them calmly entering the Roadhouse together. All of her scenes have a very dreamlike quality, as if she's one of the few people in Twin Peaks that is aware reality is shifting around her or altered entirely.

I think her scenes with Charlie (excluding the Roadhouse scene) are set in the Carrie Page reality, where she never met Cooper or got raped by his doppelganger, or got in that bank explosion. That's why she never mentions her son Richard, her family, or any other familiar character. That's why she's legally entangled in a loveless marriage with a weirdo.

Something is definitely going on with scenes related to her and the Roadhouse nobodies because the Arm repeats her dialogue about "the little girl who lives down the lane" to Cooper.

Screaming Asian girl at the end of episode 16 was probably realizing she wasn't in the right reality as well.

To the people who might have been confused by the end or think there's plot inconsistencies, while I won't go into any theories specifically or deny any criticism you might have. I do think it's important to understand several parallels drawn by David Lynch and where he took inspiration from to truly get what he was going for (or was trying to go for). I'm not going to explain any theory in and of itself, but I will try to lay a general line of thinking out on the table.

There's a clear inspiration taken by Lynch from a certain genre of anime, in particular the likes of Angel Beats (2010) and Charlotte (2015). Both heavily criticized for doing the exact same thing Twin Peaks did but it really does all fit together well if you're of an high IQ enough to understand and appreciate this type of story. I know this might come of as unbelievable but there's many similarities here and if you want a less complex version that might help you understand the Season 3 Finale of Twin Peaks I think it's best to have seen the aforementioned shows.
They might be a little rough, and things might seem odd. But that's exactly why it compares so well to Twin Peaks. You can see, going from the first to the second show the time that has passed in real time reflects within the show itself. AB (?) C (?). It's a rollercoaster ride much like Twin Peaks was (is? season 4?) and will likely help you answer many of the problems you might have had with the ending of the third season of Twin Peaks. They're diamonds in the rough. They're the crude oil running through the veins of our inner sanctum. But at the end of the day you can better understand Lynch as a person, a creator, and, most importantly, a human. What his eyes saw and what he tried to reflect. Through the works so brilliantly parodied by him that go beyond a subconscious mind.

If you've got 10 hours of free time, and want to understand Twin Peaks on a much higher plane, consume these 2 shows. Thank me later.

REMINDER THAT 'JUDY' IS A MISANDRIST ENTITY

for those who haven't noticed yet, the mother theme, sarah being disturbed in the grocery store by the "men who are coming", the alternate dimension of episode 18 is filled with female centred symbolism

>judy's diner
>a guy brutally murdered in carries house
>innocent female waitress is harassed by "men" who are essentialy evil and natural rapists
>the town's name odessa, although it is a real life place, the choice wasn't random
>the old lady in the diner is ignored by her husband despite having done nothing wrong
>alice tremond's husband is not shown, the focus is on her and the lady who sold them the house

My conclusion is that MOTHER/JUDY wanted Laura as her "child", just like that girl on episode 3 was trapped there, as an object of belonging. When someone tries to interfere, she does everything in her power to kill the MEN who are responsible.

There's this one clothing store nearby, I remember that I was arguing with some doctor over there, getting really mad at him. I wasn't sure of what the subject was but definitely I wasn't taking it well. So I go downstairs and leave the building after quitting in rage, and I get to the bus stop across the street. But it was a hospital of some sort. Weird, because there were no ambulances or anything.

I wait for the bus, it's raining outside like crazy and there's this kid that somehow got his foot stuck inside a storm drain, so I help this kid. A bus comes and he says goodbye, I'm still waiting and suddenly I hear someone screaming, so I look closely and see the doctor throw himself out of the window. My heart starts beating really fast, a few people gather there and I walk fast back home, without looking behind. So then I don't remember how, but I get to my room and I look at the window, contemplating what I have done, I feel I committed a murder, so I look outside and for some reason I end up outside the window and I fall off

forgot
>extended pitch black scenes because of a lack of a competent cinematographer
>audio issues with microphone static left unaddressed because of poor sound design
>extremely poor editing with magically disappearing extras and production staff accidentally walking into frame
there is no way you can defend these

But that's the thing, right? Donna probably got very fucking confused, the same way Coop is right now.

Kyle is on a steady diet of 18 year olds. Even pretending with that old hag made him sick.
>>
My issue with the ending isn't the plot but the lack of an emotional payoff. Maybe that was the point, but even FWWM had a bittersweet ending where Laura (and at the time you could argue even Cooper) got some peace. The Return's ending is just, oh, that's it? They're fucked? Oh well.

I would really like if Lynch made another movie similar to FWWM, it doesn't have to 100% resolve the plot but it can give a kind of emotional send-off. It doesn't have to fix everything, or anything, but it can make the viewer feel like "it's over".

IT SHOULD'VE BEEN AUDREY

Donna/her actress made a permanent damage to the franchise by forcing Annie upon us. Nobody liked Annie, and her romance with Coop was incredibly forced.

This season/movie had some awful scenes and episodes, but the ending made it all worth it

It was pretty good. The first two (or three) episodes of the show are still my favorite.
>>
What was up with that Bobby scene with the kid throwing up and the crazy lady?

Did that go anywhere?
>>
>>87311615
>Bob is a manifestation of abuse (or "the evil that men do")
>Leland was abused as a kid, causing Bob to inhabit him
>Leland abuses his daughter under the influence of Bob
>When Laura puts on the ring and Bob is unable to inhabit her, Leland kills her out of rage.
>After having her family destroyed, Sarah is inhabited by some other malevolent spirit (maybe Judy)
At least, that's how I see it.
>>
All of Twin Peaks is just a dream Laura saw in FWWM. There is no BOB it's just his father being a jealous asshole. Cooper never existed either.

Basically 'this show was just MC's coma dream' theory but this time true.

so if it's lynch who's directing a show that goes nowhere and leaves 2000 different things unanswered by the time of the boring ending, it's good, right?
>>
>>87311718

Nope

Richard was the Nu-universe counterpart of Cooper. The original universe wasn't a dream, it did happen but got replaced/erased.

Instead of getting "replaced" (like Laura/Carrie) , he took Richard's place.

I don't buy this theory. Why would suddenly be a part of bad cooper inside of him? A theory that makes more sense is that he lost something when the new Dougie for Janey-E & Sonny Jim was created. Or he's just different in this new dimension/dream that he obviously entered.

What if the same thing that happened to Jeffries just happened to Cooper - ie: he's gone crazy, teleporting around, ascending to a higher plane of existence, and being obsessed with Judy??

Rewatch this scene:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHl_8WK8w3Y

1) Cooper weirdly says "We live inside a dream" just like Jeffries does.
2) Cooper checks into Room 7 at the motel after "crossing over" with Diane. Jeffires walks out of elevator number 7 (like some kind of portal). Jeffries's hotel room at the Dutchman's is room 8 (implying he ascended?). He also sends Cooper a number 8.
3) Jeffires seems confused as to what year he was in when he shows up in Philadelphia similar to how Cooper asks "what year is this?"
4) Jeffires says he's "been to one of their meetings above a convenience store" and Cooper also teleports to the motel above the convenience store (the Dutchman's) where he meets Jeffries and they talk about Judy.
5)Jeffires and Cooper both teleport away suddenly. I imagine all of the people in Twin Peaks sheriff office probably saw Cooper teleport away in a way similar to Jeffries.

Does this mean that Cooper will become a teapot in the future? This may mean nothing, but I like to think that Cooper became a sort of ascended weird being that teleports away and may never be seen again, similar to Jeffries. Episode 18 is us seeing what Jeffries saw from his point of view.

So I rewatched the Pilot, and the "Laura" scream at the end of EP18 is, beyond a doubt, a slightly slowed down version of Sarah screaming for Laura at 8:55 of the Pilot. This makes me think that Laura is the dreamer trapped within the dream of Judy, lying in bed the morning she would have been found dead originally. The cut to black is her waking up, leaving Judy's malicious dream.

I honestly feel embarrassed for the amazing actors who had to sit through this mad man's destruction of twin peaks, a complete buffoon and a hack. The first 2 seasons were brilliant because of Frost and because ABC kept Lynch on a leash, it's baffling how showtime agreed to go through with this complete garbage.

Literally no redeeming factor, plot lines that go nowhere, character assassinations, making the supernatural aspects of the show look like fuckin' 5$ flash animations, horrendous acting, making shit up as he goes along, turning david bowie into a fuckin' tea pot, bob into a fuckin soccerball getting punched around by some british one punch man faggot,5 minute sweeping scenes, a fuckin' 60 minute finale that had 40 minutes of driving with no dialogue, i honestly pity you lynch maniacs that unironically defend this pile of excrement.

More than enough people have written how you're a naive idiot for expecting closure, there's no point in reiterating all those arguments. I know it's a dumb meme, but it's legitimately a fitting response to useless rants like this. Lynch knows what he's doing, this is how he wanted it to go. The show resolved most of the storylines that mattered and concluded Coops grand narrative with the pessimism or realism that you should have already come to expect from this show.
