Why shouldn't they be paid as much as men? They only work fewer hours and do easier jobs. They should actually be paid more than men just for showing up. I mean, after all... doesn't their very presence brighten up the workplace? They should at least be paid for that.

Fat Riker is sooooooo fat!
He boarded a turbolift and it turbocouldn't.
He replaced his sonic shower with a Sonic Drive-In.
They need a tractor beam to pick him up when he falls down.
He can't even run a holosuite program without getting winded.
He needs two containment beams when using the transporter.
It turns out that he was the one who ate the Selay ambassador.
He isn't allowed in Ten Forward anymore for fear the ship will tilt.
He isn't allowed to cat-sit Spot anymore for fear he'll eat the cat.
His scale gained sentience and asked to be permanently deactivated.
He was the first person in Starfleet history to run out of replicator rations.
He was banned from Risa after being classified as an "ecological disaster".
He caused the USS Pegasus to crash when he leaned against the warp core.
They have to evacuate the whole deck when it's time to drop his "personal log".
Scan him with a medical tricorder and his blood type is Arcturian spaghetti sauce.
Scan him with a regular tricorder and he'll register on its sensors as a small moon.
According to Data's calculations, it takes 4.7 stardates to walk all the way around him.
They had to cancel a true TNG/DS9 crossover when he couldn't fit through the wormhole.
He pried the metal casing off his combadge because he thought there might be chocolate inside.
He had to replace the holographic chef when even he said "Come on, buddy, haven't you had enough?"
When Q was asked "Could Q create an object so heavy that even Q could not lift it?", it turned out to be Riker.

>>
>>87300647
I see them as Axis Italy for their penchant to backstab each other in a brazen manner like all Italians have done throughout history. Think of Machiavelli and how he was betrayed and what his writing has come to (wrongly) represent regarding mustache twirling villainy, or Rome and Caesar. Star Trek TOS: Bread And Circuses
Original Airdate: 15 Mar, 1968

MCCOY: Captain, I see on your report Flavius was killed. I am sorry. I liked that huge sun worshiper.
SPOCK: I wish we could have examined that belief of his more closely. It seems illogical for a sun worshiper to develop a philosophy of total brotherhood. Sun worship is usually a primitive superstition religion.
UHURA: I'm afraid you have it all wrong, Mister Spock, all of you. I've been monitoring some of their old-style radio waves, the empire spokesman trying to ridicule their religion. But he couldn't. Don't you understand? It's not the sun up in the sky. It's the Son of God.
KIRK: Caesar and Christ. They had them both. And the word is spreading only now.
MCCOY: A philosophy of total love and total brotherhood.
SPOCK: It will replace their imperial Rome, but it will happen in their twentieth century.
KIRK: Wouldn't it be something to watch, to be a part of? To see it happen all over again? Mister Chekov, take us out of orbit. Ahead warp factor one.
CHEKOV: Aye, sir.

The federation NEVER made warships, as they were all about peaceful scientific discovery.

However they have made a few "escort" ships that have more shielding and firepower then most enemy warships ever fielded.

But honestly given how advanced human tech is these escort ships are not as powerful as they could be. The Defiant was really the only one that came close. But really the Maquis with Federation resources would be a frighteningly realistic and powerful human force, but that would be too dark for Star Trek.

>The Defiant-class starship, officially an escort vessel, began development around 2366 as a small, highly-powered, heavily-armed warship intended to defend the United Federation of Planets against the Borg.

>The Defiant-class starship was a heavily-armed, limited-role Starfleet vessel, a warship, the first Starfleet ever truly designed. It was developed in response to the Borg threat as originally encountered in 2365, After initial and hostile first contact with the Borg, Starfleet did what it hadn't done in decades, place greater emphasis on Starfleet's essential role in the defense of the Federation. Drafting plans for such a defense required a starship(s) capable of fighting against the Borg.

>Design
>In the final draft script for "The Search", the physical appearance of the Defiant-class was initially described thus; "The ship should look a little clunky compared to other Federation vessels we've seen – this ship was built primarily for battle, not exploration or science."

>Size
According to Hutzel, during the early development stages of the ship, the Defiant was to be "a new hot battleship that would really set a new standard for an action ship in the series. First, there was lots of talk like 'How big is the Defiant?' Well, we'll make it really small and really powerful, that it would be so powerful and scary, nobody would mess with it." (USS Defiant, DS9 Season 3 DVD special features)

According to Doug Drexler, "The size of the Defiant was a hot potato from day one. Rick Berman wanted a small pocket battleship (a couple times longer than a runabout, with the girth of a regular starship), Gary wanted at least 500' [152.4 m]."

Only because none of the crew had any charisma or chemistry

Say what you will about Janeway but Kate Mulgrew did a good job being a psycho bitch in that role, as did Picardo in his. Had Stargate Universe either of the type it would have done better.

they need to do a star trek tv series focused on klingons. it would be game of thrones, but in space.

after the dominion war. Chancellor Martok is purging the empire of corruption and restoring honor and the old ways. yet there are many noble families that are resisting. while many commoners are trying to take advantage of the chaos to climb the ladder. While all this is happening. Several of the Empire's subject alien races have banded together in revolt. Trying to form a new faction and free themselves from klingon rule. A new and powerful enemy is also on the horizon. they're from the delta quadrant and are starting to poke in around the back side of the empire. that is deep with in the beta quadrant.

Because they are descended from the half brother of the one from whom the jews descended. Both jews and muslims are descended from Abraham, who had two sons, one from one woman, and one from another woman. Each set of the descendants of Abraham claim to be God's chosen people, believes the other should either convert or die, and neither one will give an inch. However both sets of descendants believe that they have the right to either lord over or kill all outsiders, and that is why both sides commit so much wanton murder. The only difference between them is that the muslims kill openly, while the jews kill stealthily.

How does his translator work anyway ? How can he pass for a local with that ? Doesn't it sound like he is dubbed when adressing to a non-english speaker ?

There's a system of tubes on every deck that people shit into and they all lead to a trough where Worf sits and gobbles their steaming logs when he's not on the bridge. It's canon.

I'm listening right now to Trip complaining about how he has to explain to a middle school class how toilet work on the Enterprise
>>
>>87315787
despite all the time they spent in an officer's bathroom, on the show. you never see a toilet where it is supposedly is on that schematic.

the showers also open in a different direction.

Franyly, I never understood that. Don't you want maximum protection for where the captain is at ?

DS9, Quark, Rom, and Nog had tiny ear buds in their ears. Which were their translators.

though I don't know how that works for people with out translators.

on ENT. it was a little box they wore on their uniform.
>>

It's true, all of it. Michael Dorn told me right before he and Brent Spiner raped me in the back of the convention hall.

that schematic isn't accurate to how the ship was presented on the show.

also the bridge is on a different deck than the one being shown.

No. Stargate is magic. They could have made up a shitty explanation about how there is a common language on Abydoss and everywhere in the galaxy that every SG team member must learn but they just said "fuck that".

And yet they managed to make Daniel Jackson useful as linguist. That... THAT is magic.

You're looking at E Deck.

The safest place on a ship should always be the command bridge, not the sickbay.

I mean they aren't literally using armor, shields n shit. Plus they always take damage in the teen decks so clearly the command bridge isn't in the line of fire anyway.

So has Section 31 just been running in secret ever since the founding of the Federation?

They don't actually report to anyone in Starfleet or the Federation Council?

I legit thought Mulgrew was a good actress. Especially compared to the other woman they were going to cast for the role. Geneviève Bujold was flat as a fucking plank of wood.
