I liked most of DS9 but the Section 31 stuff was pretty silly. It would have fit the tone of the show better if Starfleet Intelligence had simply gotten up to shady wetworks shit and it caused conflict with the rest of the fleet.

Making a super secret special club that not even top level command knew about was fan fiction tier.

The production of the first season of Enterprise was done at sanic speed and went through a ton issues with props, reshoots, neartly the entirety of Paramount's CGI department, and coordination as sets were finalized. They didn't even know what resolution they were filming in due to rapidly changing standards in cameras at the time. As a result some of the show was the first instance of Star Trek being recorded in high def but If I remember right, Broken Bow, episode 1, was written before anyone was actually cast for their respective rolls and had to be re-written several times as each actor got hired up until hairs breath of actual finalization with several last minute reshoots.

>He didn't die lel, he just faked his death and went to work for Section 31
Fack yeeew. Otherwise the books go on to talk about the formation of the Coalition between Earth-Vulcan-Tellar-Andoria, it's struggles, the Romulan War, and eventually the formation of the Federation (with some Section 31 stuff here and there that's kinda boring). A lot of the stuff I wanted to see after Season 4 had the show continued.

He was banned from Risa after being classified as an "ecological disaster".

To interfere with a planet's evolutionary process is completely against Starfleet's ideals. The dilemma presented is multi-faceted because it's a case of both Genetic Modification and introducing advanced technology to an undeveloped civilization. Humans refuse to tamper with biological evolution because it is a corruption of natural selection that can lead to unforeseen consequences. Likewise, introducing advanced technology to an underdeveloped civilization can lead to destructive ends. Every crew from all the shows violates this ideal every single time one of their own crew is adversely fucked by an illness. How the fuck do they know the alien virus they encounter isn't something that humans could eventually, naturally become immune to and evolve to benefit from? They don't. Since life was seeded by a single advanced mother race in Star Trek, who the fuck is a fed doctor to say that the afflictions contacted aren't meant to be contacted in the first place so humans and other aliens can evolve through them? Doctors in general interfere with human evolutionary processes every time they find a cure for something IRL because we'd be fucking dead from polio by now or some other shit if they didn't.
>>
>>87295306
None of those examples are even remotely similar. Those were all sicknesses.

The situation in Dear Doctor was a species that was an evolutionary dead end. It was a disease or sickness, it was a natural consequence of their biology. It directly mirrors humanity's own natural evolution, as at times in the distant past there were several hominids on Earth and now there is only us due to natural selection.

He fucking doesn't, it's supposition, assumption, and that's the point. Doctors aren't supposed to make medical decisions based on assumptions like divine appeal. Phlox and Archer explicitly state that another advanced culture COULD come along and save those people and use that as an excuse to wash their hands and further state that they don't know what the lesser species will do once they fully evolve, further evolving with the current dying culture that enslaves them COULD or COULD NOT have benefits, they COULD learn to live peaceably when they become more social and beneficial, they could even cure their owner culture's plague given half the chance, the don't fucking know and they went ahead and purposefully did not help when they had the cure and could have, Archer leaves it up to fate and Phlox violates his doctoral oath of assistance to go along with that.

Clothing
Cadet's uniform - five strips
Dress from Garak's Clothiers – seventeen to twenty strips
Life savings
Nog – five bars
Quark – one hundred bricks and six hundred bars
Rom – seventeen bars, three strips, and five slips
Wages
Morica Bilby – five to thirty bars a week
Quark's employees during the Cardassian Occupation – one slip per day
Quark's dabo girls on DS9 – fourteen strips per pay cycle (undetermined)
Profits
Janel Tigan – more than a thousand bars a day
Quark – five bars a day
Holosuite programs
A Visit with the Pleasure Goddess of Rixx – ten strips
Custom holosuite program – one bar

Quark seems extremely well-to-do I don't know what the fuck he's always whining about.

Going even further, the next step up from a brick is 4/5 bricks.
I think there's an untapped potential for arbitrage there.
>>
>>87297031
The value of a brick has never been revealed in any official source. "A lot" seems to be the answer but if we were to take things naturally since 1 bar is 20 strips, you could assume 1 brick is 1000 slips I guess.

That's indeed Nog(played by Aron Eisenberg, who's birthday is January 1969,meaning the guy is almost 49 years old).Jake's actor(Cirroc Lofton) is a decade younger than him and actually owns a restaurant!!

Fun fact: you know the actress that play the somewhat genki perky goth Abby in NCIS?She actually has degrees in criminal sciences,is a natural blonde(which means it wasn't a wig in that Halloween episode where she was cosplaying as Marilyn Monroe) and is born March 1969(meaning that's she's currently 48,5 years old!but you wouldn't know that do to make-up!!)

False. The Denobulans did their own genetic engineering, they had no influence from an outside force. Also, they did not redesign their species like augmented humans did (which Phlox stated he was against) and like what would have been required in Dear Doctor. Just give it up. You're out of gas.

With medical advancements attained though intergalactic trade Vulcan, Vulcan being one of the first space faring races they had contact with before they were medically advanced.

And the fact remains that Wyatt Miller directly violates the Prime Directive not to interfere with the development of other races by leaving the Enterprise-D to specifically help whats left of the once thought extinct Tarellian civilization cure their plague even though he doesn't have to because he feels compelled to do so as a medical professional during the TNG episode Haven. Not only does Picard, mister Prime Directive himself, not give a shit, but applauds Miller's motives.
>>
>>87299087
Quibbling point: Wyatt Miller was a civilian and therefore not bound by the Prime Directive.
It's a general order, not a law.

Source it. Either way, trade between two warp capable civilizations is not the same moral dilemma.

>And the fact remains that Wyatt Miller
I'm really not going to get into another argument with you about an entirely different episode. Fact is, you were too fucking stupid to understand Dear Doctor and I had to basically run you through the entire episode because you couldn't understand even the simplest of plot points. The show was literally too smart for your dumb ass. You were too dumb for ENT. Come on, man. Pay attention.
>>
>>87299310
>Has lack of taste enough to defend ENT
>Proceeds to denigrate others

And it's stated in Dear Doctor that the Valakians were space faring but could not find anyone in their local system that could help.
>>
>>87299548
BUT NOT WARP, YOU DENSE MOTHERFUCKER
>>
>>87299548
The Valakians weren't a warp culture. They requested warp drive tech and a genetic cure from the Enterprise. Why the fuck can't you understand the episode. Every single comment you've made was addressed by the show.

2dumb4ent
>>
>>87299558
That only applies to Vulkans and their own laws about first contact, humans at that time had no such laws. T'pol makes a comment about that and Archer ignores her which starts the whole affair.
>>
>>87298967
Special requirements is essential job fuckuppery. Have you even been employed?
>>
>>87299859
The entire point of the episode was Archer coming to understand the Vulcan/Denobulan point of view in regards to interfering with other civilizations.
>>
>>87300038
>oh please won't somebody think of the employers
>>
>>87300051
Which doesn't apply to Valakians looking around their solar system for aid until well after the fact. Archer was obligated to help them for wrongfully interfering in the first place. Which T'pol also mentions because otherwise it would be a waste of time for her position as observer, Instead he meddled where he didn't belong and ran when shit got uncomfortable.
