At least the Dude was independent and could support himself. Otherwise people who don't work and rely on the state should be put to death.

Good job > decent job (IE only makes you want to die some of the time and pays enough for you to have money left over after you spend what you need to spend on staying alive/not going to federal prison) > unemployment > bad job

Being unemployed with money is great. Free time + money = opportunity. You can literally do whatever you want.

Being unemployed without money, or just enough to get by, is awful. You're just wasting away without the means to do anything fulfilling. Far better to be a wagecuck and have the means to do what you want on weekends and holidays.

I hate my job. My only condolence is that I don't do shit and eventually I'll be able to move out of my parents place. I sit around around and listen to NPR all day while pretending to work. I keep hoping I'll get fired but it's been a few months now. I don't understand existence.

it's better to be perpetually self employed, so to speak. Yeah occasionally you may need to work a job, but as long as you keep sight of what matters for you, employed or unemployed, you will find the light.

Also, not sure if 20 minutes supermodel cumming is worth the risks. I've had some freaky sex with a hot girl before and it was great but not so great I'd want to feel dependent on it. Which I came to feel anyway... but that's another story. Suffice to say that becoming dependent ruined the fun.

45 yo here. No kids and no wife. I have zero debt. I only pay property taxes, utilities, and medical/car insurance. I own a modest 3 bedroom house with a nice yard. I only work about 3-4 months out of the year, because that's all I have to work to maintain what I have. I see people my age working 60+ hours/wk who have nicer cars and bigger houses than me, but they are drowning in debt. My tvs are all just old crts. Nothing special, but they've worked for 20 years. The latest model of car I have is from 2003, and it's a grocery getter. It runs perfectly. Don't buy into the slave debt thing, just to collect more shit you'll use for a week, then sell at a garage sale a year later. My life is relatively free. I can pretty much do whatever the fuck I want when I want. If you want to have a family, good for you. I think I might want to get married during the next few years. But never do it because your friends or family and society tell you that's what you're supposed to do.

You can do whatever you want except having a loving family. Or sex. You can dump on that all you want but only people who have shitty families talk shit about it.

I have a wife that let's me fuck her whenever and kids who are excited to see me. Feels better. I can have my privacy too. My wife doesn't bitch when I say I want to be alone.

This really ought to be the norm, but it basically only isn't because of how capitalism developed in the west. There's no reason to waste money on rent if you can help it, and I don't get why Americans seem to have such weirdly hostile relationships with their parents.

Self-employed > unemployed > NEET > wageslave

It's so easy to be self employed these days I don't see why any person intelligent enough to be reading this message at this time needs to put themselves through wage slavery. There are too many resources at your fingertips to make a living without having to have some asshole tell you what to do all the hours of the day. And I'm not talking about gambling shitcoins.

What do I do for a living? A few things:

>buy decent laptops on facebook marketplace for less than $100 each then flip them on ebay or craigslist for $150-200. I make about $50-100 a week doing this
>go through thrift stores, peddler's malls and flea markets and buy hardcover fantasy novels for $1-5 and resell them for $15-100 dollars. I usually make about $30 a week like this.
>go through the above and find cameras and lenses. Usually get them for a buck and can sell for $30-50. I make about $30 a week from this.
do the same for
>keyboards
>video games
>dvds
>vhs

I familiarize myself with what is popular and sells. Not just the surface casual fag stuff but the deeper fantasy novels like stuff by Piers Anthony or Jack Vance.

You have to find your niches. Some people repair sewing machines they get at yard sales for $20 and resell them for hundreds. I'm not in that action because they are heavy to fuck around with and I have bad back from a wreck.

If it's not this it can be something else. I know a guy who makes money driving Amish people up north and back.

This is the new world of employment. A lot of little jobs here and there that add up. Sometimes you hit a big donk and make a few hundred or even thousand dollars for just a couple of hours of work. I sold a Canon f/1.2 lens for $800 last year I paid $5 for. You can't depend on these things but they certainly help you stretch it out through the lean times when they do come along. The trick is to not spend money on shit you know you will eventually come across for pennies.
>>
>>87233628
>be unemployed

>make money off of cryptos
>not a lot but enough to get by in my situation

If you make enough money from something to get by then you are employed.

The true redpill is the stock market. Normies are scared of it because it's big and confusing but all the information you need to navigate it moderately successfully is out there. In this day and age it is possible to make a relatively stable income if you are careful and keep your wits about you.

>>
>>87243488
>How many hours do you dedicate to searching for stuff to flip a day?
Not too many since I already have the knowledge, and it was gained slowly over years.

It's not boring at all. You never know what you will find, and the research into a subject is usually fascinating.

I would like to get into the stock market and see if I can make just $300 a week in it. That would be enough in my state. How much capital do you think I would need to get to that point in a year?

This can be an option but if you find a good woman that is smart and has a career it could effectively double your income.

Like, I have a pretty steady career and I make a decent penny. But I can't help but feel jealous of my siblings who have wives essentially cutting all of their commodities in half.

It really depends on what kind of man you are, I for one know that an extended relationship with a woman would fuck me over, but for some people you can be set if you find one that will actually put forth the effort.

If you were an idiot and did nothing after high school.

I recomend getting into food service, and not like mcdonalds or fast food. Like get culinary training or get a job as a prep cook, line cook, something entry level. You will learn basic stuff that the majority of people have no idea how to do and you will get paid for it.

It got me out of a stupor, and I am a classic case 4chan man. Got out of high school, didn't go to college, wasted potential etc. From there on just move forward, it is the only way you can go.

I assure you that death is the literal worst option. As it gives you no opportunity to progress and see the future.

Of course, these are my own personal motivations. They may not work for you, but just giving you an example of a person that was in a similar situation and the first initial steps I did to get out of it.

Cmon mate don't do it. I've been on that position and it's not worth it, even if now it seems so to you. Life changes, sometimes even for the better (incredible eh?).
But most importantly, ask for help, cause you'll never come out only by yourself. There's no shame in that.

Please do it man, it will be better than this, promised, whatever your current conditions are.

>>87243853
Yeah that is the risk you have to take.

Both my siblings have double income so their vacations, commodities, furniture all cost fucking half. Not only that, but having smart traveling companions that research and know what to do.

You have to be smart about the situation and assess the person you are with and actually see if they are the right person for you and will strive for the same goals you have. I unfortunately get blinded by love and lust so I can never have the benefit of seeing a persons real potential without getting a heavy emotional attachment first.
>>
>>87243989
People with seemingly everything do heavy drugs man. Nothing really compares to it. It is understandable someone would go through the risks to take them as nothing else can compare to them on the same level. People know the risks and they willingly take them, and the absolute finality of death doesn't phase them. Not like they really understand it though.
>>

>It got me out of a stupor, and I am a classic case 4chan man. Got out of high school, didn't go to college, wasted potential etc. From there on just move forward, it is the only way you can go.

This is 100% correct. I should have either done a trade right out of high school or joined the fucking army and put some money in my pocket and traveled more. What I really would have liked is to have done TESOL and taught English around the world, basically getting paid to travel the world. As I get older I find that what's most important to me is learning new things and having new experiences.
>>
>>87243989
>Life changes, sometimes even for the better

Not on its own. You have to knuckle down and work hard to make it happen. I traveled through rivers of shit t get where I am today. NO ONE can be counted on or trusted and you end up looking at yourself in the mirror at the end of your life. Decide what you want, do whatever it takes to get it and fuck everyone/everything that stands in your way. Listen to this songs lyrics and take them to heart my friends. https://youtu.be/egY8rUpxqcE

eventually you will realize you are getting old and there is nothing you can do to avoid death. Also you will live to see the beginnings of the age of genetic augmentation and bio-mechanical enhancements so you/we will all see the potential future of humans living much longer than we did.

So we all have that to look forward too.
>>
>>87244057
>>87244125
I agree with both. I was just trying to say, that's its not as hopeless as it seems to be. Even if now this sounds crazy, life CAN be enjoyable, if you work on it. And you'll inevitably experience death someday, so why not trying life anyway. You have nothing to lose.

Some drugs are the best feeling in the world, that's for sure. But it's short lived and still not worth it if that means sacrificing the rest of an otherwise enjoyable life.

I think you meant most upper middle class are making 30/45 an hour. But they don't make hourly they get paid in salary and have careers.

Every level Software QA makes around $23/hour. Thing is you really got to know what kind of positions are out there and you could broaden your horizons about income.

Of course, the more you get paid hourly the more redundant, harder the tasks will be. That is the only reason they pay so high for entry level.
>>
>>87244726
What are you talking about, eventually it is going to get to the point were automation takes away so many jobs that there will be need for a standard income so everybody will get paid for a job.

The only people who will get paid will be people who have jobs that can't be automated yet. Also, and just so you know absolutely every job can and will be automated eventually, it is an inevitability that greed will make manifest.

I used to work at a thrift store and they called themselves "pickers" probably inspired based of Pawn stars and American pickers.

They came there every day and bought and sold stuff at swap meets in town on saturday by opening up kiosks. It sounds fun itself but this is basically a next level hobo.

Although a furniture painter did pay me to just load stuff on to his truck so that was nice. But I definitely would not want to be living that life.

>>87245083
Also this, being a picker doesn't mean you are self imployed. That is like one step away from being a hobo/panhandler which professional panhandlers actually make like $200+ bucks a day.

>>
>>87245493
A lot of NEETs can't go on walks at 3 am because they live with their parents and going out at that hour becomes problematic.
>>
>>87245192
If you're going to the same thrift store every day and buying something you're not picking right. I might visit a place 20 times and buy nothing in all those visits. I don't go every day either. I've found it isn't worth the effort. Everyone things you have to right there as soon as stuff gets put out but the truth is even pretty valuable things can sit for months with thousands of people walking right by it.
>>
>>87245083
I make $250-350 a week most weeks. Some far less, some better. I try to sell two laptops for $125 to $150 with maybe $20 invested in them. That will usually get me over the $200 mark. Then other stuff might add up to another $100 or more

I'd like you to tell the government I'm not self-employed so I don't have to pay taxes pls.

I'm unemployed right now and I like it but it's only because I have my own place.

Being unemployed and living with parents must be living hell.

The only downside is that I had to get rid of my car.

The thinking is that a stable portfolio should generate, on average, about 7% per year. The 3% compensates for inflation and the 4% is what you withdraw annually to live. It's not a perfect system, you'll have years where your returns will be 2% and years where your returns will be 11%, but on average, it should work, assuming your investments are well balanced and have low expense ratios.
