Autobiography of Dale Cooper is ok, but it's not canon and it's not as good as the ones above.
Then there's Diane... The Twin Peaks Tapes of Agent Cooper, which was read by Kyle MacLachlan and was basically some tapes leading up to the second episode of the season 2 premiere. Bit of new content mixed in with his talks with Diane you've seen in the show. An hours worth of comfy but not really important.

Don't buy into the meme that Secret History is saying that the Lodge Spirits are aliens. A lot of the contents of the book are a combination of fact and fiction about Project Blue Book and a lot of the ayy shit they've studied, but there's also a lot on Aleister Crowley's magics and a handful of stuff on the citizens of Twin Peaks. It's somewhat heavy reading, but it's worth it, and the audiobook paired with it is top fucking notch.

This. Secret History mentions that Norma's mom has been dead for years when early season 2 had a subplot that revolved around her coming to town as a food critic. Annie is also scrubbed from existence.

Lynch would forget these details because he admits he doesn't remember a thing about s2 and only works with the stuff created from his absence out of necessity, but I have a hard time believing Frost would, especially when he was responsible for some of these subplots to begin with.

Norma's mom was a terrible side plot and I'm pretty sure he didn't care or actively wanted to undo it and give her a more realistic family background. Same with Ed/Nadine/Norma which in the show was actually good to begin with, but Hawk's book story about them was 10x better for me and much more emotionally resonant.

I don't hate it, but when you look at the idea of a solo story about your quirky main character's childhood and the circumstances leading up to his dark past, there are so many interesting directions you could take it in.

My Life, My Tapes had a tough act to follow with Secret Diary which could stand as its own away from the Twin Peaks brand and approached the subject matter seriously, and it doesn't even hold a candle to it. Not even close.
