Though I am a little surprised that, given how important Native American mythology seems to be to Twin Peaks, Hawk is the only Indian in the whole show.

I just finished watching FWWM. When I was watching The Return I thought that Booper acted very unlike Cooper's Doppleganger, with him laughing maniacally at everything. But in the end of FWWM he talks to Harry and wow, he really acts like he does in The Return.

I'm glad Lynch and Frost were able to capitalize on these little bits and pieces to frame the new series. It really makes it feel like an organic yet logical continuation of the original series + movie. A lazier writer/director combo (cough D&D cough) would have flanderized everything and made Doppelganger into a bargain-basement Joker who 25 years later still somehow hasn't left Twin Peaks.

The laughing bit was definitely BOB. The guy doesn't really "think" or plan things out, imo. He just does.

Instead, you should pick a specific story you want to see play out uninterrupted, and go from there. Start from nothing and build up until you have an individual piece of storytelling, rather than cutting chunks out of a whole.

My thoughts are that the few episodes after 8 really drag, so that could be a partial solution (though I'm not leaving it THAT long to introduce that subplot, just dishing out its beginning slower).
