Watch this scene, then watch the original dream scene from S1. That humming noise we've been hearing in the background of the Great Northern, and now, the most loudly in the this boiler room, is the same humming noise that you hear when BOB appears in Cooper's dream. And the location looks very similar as well.

If James became the new BOB...holy shit, that would be unexpected. The glove scene would foreshadow when gloveboy would have to fight the BOB inside of James.

Oddly enough I wasn't completely surprised. Andy was incredibly simple, but he always showed moments of brilliance in the show, like when he figured out the petroglyph map, or when he drew an incredibly detailed courtroom sketch (even if it was the wrong angle), or when he shot Jacques, which proved that his gun training took hold.

When the chips are down, he's reliable. That's why he managed to stay deputized for 25 years despite his apparent ineptitude.
