What's worse is that Daenerys is actually a native speaker of Valyrian. She grew up in Essos, and as she herself said, her family is Valyrian, so they all learned Valyrian. She would be fully aware of the lack of gender in that word in Valyrian. It seems they forgot about season 3 and also got mixed up, thinking that because she couldn't speak Dothraki as well as Missandei (which is show only I believe), it was the same with Valyrian. It's the "Mhysa is mother in Valyrian" scene all over again. They could have easily had Tyrion make this mistake instead, and then either Missandei or Daenerys could correct him.

In the books, Aemon tells Sam that most Maesters translated the phrase incorrectly, except for one, and Aemon references the text as if the "prince" is like a dragon, which swap between sex (or have no sex), but they completely removed the Aemon/Sam scenes from season 5.

Yeah. The Dorne plot is interesting to me in the books but at the same time it is a massive distraction that prevents The Fat Man from finishing his books. The most important part is in the as yet unreleased sixth book.

A plotline that is just as shit in the books as it is in the show is the Arya/House of Black and White. It goes absolutely nowhere and is incredibly boring. I think that GRRM originally intended them to be simply highly skilled, possibly magic assassins, but then got carried away.
