The show is similar to the experience I had when first encountering Charles Bukowski's poetry. Individually, and taken out of context, there's nothing endearing about it. But if you stick with it for a few poems/episode, certain repetitions begin to emerge, the characters start to develop a core beyond their superfluous character gimmicks, and you find yourself liking more and more of them.

I read a few reviews of the show and smiled at how self-indulgent a lot of its fans seem to be ("You need to be intelligent to enjoy the humor," is seen a lot), but I think the material itself is pretty good. Futurama's still my all-time favorite animated comedy, but I think Rick and Morty is good in its own right.

So I came back from work and knew what I had to do since I was coming back to home on the bus: watch some Rick and Morty on Netflix. Of course I fucking hate that memey show like everybody here, but I had to do it, and I always have to do it.
So today I watched the first episode for... I don't know, maybe 17th or 18th time, whatever. AND THERE WAS IT. THERE FUCKING WAS IT, THE MEMEY REFERENCES, THE FUCKING REDDIT-TIER REFERENCES. I just coundn't stop repeating to miself: "this is reddit his is reddit his is reddit...". At this moment I was already in a blind rage, kicking my walls and furniture. I just couldn't believe... I coundn't believe, how is possible to make something like that? But I proceed watching it... and it ended. Everytime I watch this shit again, I find some shitty reddit-tier meme and, of course, I come here and show to EVERYONE what a shitshow this is. My dream is a world free of reddit, and because of that I need to warn all the mindless puppets about Reddit and Memey, I want everybody to know that this show is ran by REDDITORS.

Its not a bad show, but its not a great one. Either way, its been corrupted by a horrible, horrible fanbase. I enjoy it to some extent, but when I watch it I think about the faggot numale at a party I was at wearing a Rick shirt and talking about how deep it is for a comedy show.

My HS buddy is in more neutral territory, were apparently there are liberals and conservatives but no one has completely drank the kool-aid to the point were they discuss it all the time and can't be friends with the opposing side. I'm probably gonna move in with him soon.
