I'm definitely a S1/2 fag in terms of personal favorites, and that episode was exactly the sort of thing I anticipated when I heard there'd be a revival.

Perfect mix of plot advancement and stagnation, really pointedly off-putting surreal stuff, interpersonal sadness, and heart-stirring. And really fucking entertaining withal.

Bobby's whole bit in the diner to the outside scene with the woman in the car was particularly amazing.

I never thought I would say this but I genuinely think season 3 would have worked better as a streaming exclusive
At first I thought this episode was kinda frustrating because of filler but that's not even it, there was a shit-ton that happened. It's just that the show is juggling so much at once over a super short period of time (how much time has passed since the pilot? Surely it can't be more than two weeks?) that even with all we got it still felt super unsatisfying. Yeah it's cool that we got a bunch of Dougie progress and some Bobby/Shelley scenes but now that just means we have to wait another week to *maybe* get an update on Richard or Jerry or Mr. C or Ella or Jack Rabbit's Palace

I'm glad Lynch is getting to realize his complete vision and I'm sure that when the whole season is available at once it'll be a lot better but the slow drip-feed is really killing it for me right now tbqhwy

Haven't seen anyone else mention it but when they say one more piece of pie for Dougie doesn't Cooper say "for now", which makes them laugh? That's another thing he's said without prompting. They're really edging us with Cooper coming back.

Really good episode. The pace was pretty quick and quite a bit happened. Sad that Hastings is dead. Didn't even notice Donna's sister/cousin but saw her name in the credits and apparently she's the one that Becky's husband is cheating on her with.

Also saw people talking about how busy the police department was but I took all those calls as calling about Becky shooting the door at the hotel. It also seems like every opening to the Lodge or wherever the woodsmen were at are at places called or related to sycamores. Wasn't the street that Cooper and Jade were at when Cooper first came out of the light socket Sycamore St.?

Anyone else feeling really happy right now? That was a really well done episode, it had some characters I liked a lot from the original series interacting in poignant and interesting ways, lots of really neat Lynchian flourishes that make Twin Peaks Twin Peaks, the sort that haven't appeared too often in season 3. And the ending was really pretty beautiful.

Just speaking superficially, what a fun and entertaining hour of television.
