I think Jodie will be good I just wish we had gotten a (official) female Doctor a lot sooner.

It feels like in the times being what they are that the main reason we're getting a female Doctor is because some people threw a really loud tantrum and not because Chris Chibnall's truly utterly wanted to write for a female Doctor Who. I mean I would happy to be wrong and if Chibnall has always dreamed that he would get to write for a Doctor played by a woman that's great.

Anyway, I think if they had done this casting a woman back in the 80's or 90's people would have made less of a big deal about it.

In my dream timeline Doctor Who never gets cancelled McCoy regenerates around '92 or '93 into the first female Doctor then we still get McGann in '96 (only this time with a proper run done by the BBC) McGann bows out in early 2000's then our first black male Doctor then Eccleston etc.
