Is any Torchwood stuff mentioned or foreshadowed at all? Some anons here convinced me not to be annoyed about it being a separate range because they were convinced BF would keep it distinct from Torchwood.

Not really. The one with Jackie is taking place during "Jack is all mad Doctor won't come back to him phase" but Torchwood itself is not mentioned. That's about it, I think.

I wonder if Jack will ever make an appearance during the Chibnall Era. It seems more likely, because of Chibnall's involvement in Torchwood, but also at this point that is basically ancient history.

Also I really gotta find some normal, friendly-looking Chibnalls for my folder. Right now they look like a photoshoot for a serial killer.

Not a bad story idea, but it needs some fleshing out. And you kept spelling Skaro and Davros wrong. Keep at it.

Chibs did shadow showrun Torchwood for a while, so he might have some love of the character. Barrowman hasn't shit-talked Chibnall the way he has Moffat either.

Japanese companion confirmed.
>>
>>84671667
And your post is enough for confirmation or do you have anything else to go by?
>>
>>84670856
No no no. Thats a terrible idea. Its like those comics where two heroes face off: who wins? Whoever the writer decides. Besides, the Daleks are dinguses and the Cybermen should whomp their cyclops-octopus looking asses out of their teapot shaped tanks.

Doomsday was easily bullshit from the start: it posed the daleks(already overpowered in 3 episodes) against a bullshit version of the cybermen; a cybermen version so wimp shit that they had to be from an alternate universe where they came off a doo wop blasted conveyor belt to be sent into a slaughter with battle hardened daleks. They might as well have been a bunch of autons. When they fought in Doomsday I was rooting for The Master to just show up and kill everyone. That sweet release took a season later.

But even by Villain standards, the Daleks are corny dinguses. They're immortal battle tanks who believe in their own racial superiority and go off to other planets to enslave other races in a game of galactic conquest, who's leader never really considers that the doctor refuting him time and again and blowing up legions of his followers might refute their ideals about superiority; that the major uprisings against them are a sign they have no real concept of how to rule anywhere; that the fact they need slaves to harvest natural resources they don't actually need since theyre in self sustaining battle tanks undermines their superiority. They'd be more evil if they just let humans be humans then killed them all with their many strangely human-targetting diseases and took over their empires.

And in 13 lives the daleks have managed to kill the doctor one and a half times(eleven and the time war, kinda. The time lords exhaust him more actually). The cybermen do it first chance they get through exhaustion. Theyve basically done it again too most recently, unless you think the regeneration the doctor is holding back is anything but a lame duck move. By actually shooting him too.
>>
>>84671674
I am John BBC. The owner of the BBC. Believe me.
>>
>>84671695
Contrast these idiots with the cybermen: even if the end result of a galactic empire is the same, that still makes the cybermen the smarter villains because they cannibalize their enemies into useful tools for themselves as opposed to killing them or leaving them alive to cause an uprising.

More to the point rooting for the daleks is self defeating: Cyberwar Cybermen, with their ridiculous Flash speed, paralyze touch, concentrated energy lasers, magnetic force grabs, actual legs and supression of outside thoughts getting beat up by a bunch of catchphrase screaming nazi-stand ins? Hell no. The daleks barely have the manuverability to keep up with one guy running in a line in front of them. Entire armies have to stand still for them to have a decent hit percentage. By the time they even locked onto a target a cyberman should have used his cyberstrength to punt heir dalek balls out of the casing and into their eyeball.

I was instead talking about the cybermen trying to convert Davros into a cyberman. Thats an interesting plotpoint.
>>
>>84671695
So then what was the good idea about that shitty fanfiction then?
>>
>>84671106
Last update: the LC recons missing their subtitled versions are
Marco Polo (all 7 episodes)
Galaxy 4 (ep2)
The Daleks' Master Plan (ep11)
The Highlanders (ep1)
The Underwater Menace (ep1 and ep4)
The Space Pirates (ep5 and ep6)

>>
>>84672105
The daleks have been known to seek help from the doctor many times. The cybermen never have, though have accidentally(human resources). Given how the Daleks see themselves and how Davros thinks I'm pretty sure theyd seek his help and have a plan to backstab him later.

Are you fishing for ideas, anon?

The doctor should simply leave the cybermen crippled on Skaro while still remaining a threat to be ongoing, and meanwhile reveal the locations of planets with incompatible races to the cybermen that are occupied by daleks so the cybermen can liberate them. The dalek web goes insane as tje daleks planets are invaded, and in the confusion the doctor runs away. Then depending on the incarnation he either decides a cybermen dalek war is a fine enough solution or dedicates that later he will clean up the mess.

Because let me tell you what's canon. What's canon is that the Tenth Doctor was the last Doctor. He went in the fture, and stuck Rose in a cosmic container. She will be forever young, and forever his. Bow down to the TIME LORD VICTORIOUS!

For he will make you, if you do not. He copied his biodata, making himself the only living Doctor. His face changed, but inside, he's Ten.

McGann = 13? That's the rumour doing the rounds amongst producer folk right now. The idea McGann would agree to waste away in a soap does seem off to me, but he's allowed a mid-life crisis after being fucked over by Moffat twice now, even if Holby will damage his reputation.

should i kill myself before or after 12 regenerates?
>>
the 'weapons grade' cyberman in the dr falls was meant to be a new design - it makes sense if you listen to the dialogue - but there was no budget so they used the nightmare in silver ones

the scene where 12 dies running through the forest after exploding the floor was meant to be one continuous shot featuring every cyberman ever, including moonbase, tomb and 1980's designs, but again - budget

Pretty sure it will be dependent on the initial reception of the Chibnall era. I think it's on its "final chance" as it were. In other words, if the Chibnall era is a failure they'll cancel it/put it on hiatus. Then it will be revived by Gareth Roberts or Phil Ford in 10 years or something.
>>
>>84673929
I hope Gareth and Phil Ford come back for the Chibnall era. Gareth's eps and stories are comfy as fuck and Phil Ford's eps are always interesting. They both understand the show and how to write the Doctor i think
>>
>>84673800
Lance Parkin is so nutty that he writes Doctor Who history books explaining how literally everything is canon. And my issue with Justin Richards is that he's not nutty enough, leading to some really bland books of his.

I don't remember Melanon because I don't go on /tv/ a lot since there's too many faggots around whose threads usually revolve around memes or discuss irrelevant shit. /who/ even less because I don't have much interest in the show most of the time.

I told you I don't like DW except for a few episodes here and there. Does S10 fall under that? No. Writing is still unbearable to me for the most part. But hey, maybe I could just watch the entire season and make an opinion then when I don't even want to in the first place.
What I was asking, however, is if a particular character has received development and, if so, how that happened. As explained earlier, I won't watch the fucking show for it. It's ludicrous to assume I have to just for one question I had out of curiosity. Yes, hat one part interests me, but that does not mean I have to bear through shit in order to find the "golden episode" that I may like in a pile of garbage.
I never told you how much DW I watched to begin with, how much S10 I watched to begin with. If I started with the finale or not, yet you assume so much. I am not here to talk about this kind of shit, it does not matter whatsoever. Why would you care so much, if I liked it or not, if I had to watch an entire season or not to form the opinion that, indeed, the show's writing mostly remains the same and or uninterests me.

>>84673057
Decide what? "ah she had development after all, but no, not really" - you are talking about me maybe liking the episodes or not. But this is not the issue here. I am interested how they build that character, nothing more, nothing less.

>A puddle of sentient oil was left behind by a spaceship that had previously landed in Bristol. The oil was able to mimic other beings, survive a blast from a Dalek gun, target passengers and follow them across time and space.

Heather/The Pilot has to be one of the stupidest things to ever come from Moffat's mind.

Moffat greenlit the design with no doubt various others.

4 episodes (Extremis, the Lie of the Land, Empress of Mars, The Eaters of Light) deal with her development to a notable degree before the finale 2-parter makes it the main focus. The overarching arc of S10 is literally her, as the Vault arc was really just the Missy arc in disguise.

Maybe 12 is reacting this way because he's in the first incarnation of another cycle, and it's making him a bit more anti-regeneration. His first incarnation was the ''''real'''' him and now that he's in a first incarnation of a new cycle he feels this is also the ''''real'''' him but also has the experience of 12 other regenerations. So those two things coupled together equals a sad 12 not wanting to regenerate.

- being upgraded, moving on from being remnants of the Time War (and symbolically, moving away from the RTD era and into Moffat's)

- ranks, can instantly recognise the function of a Dalek and gives potential for Daleks to have differing roles in story (plus, the mystery of the Eternal's function which could fill an entire episode)

- eye-level with The Doctor, makes for better exchanges and makes them more physically imposing

I won't deny that their introductory episode was horrible, though.

>Are you a true fan of Doctor Who?

If the answer is yes or no, then you are ready to contribute a literary masterpiece to the second /who/ collection of original Doctor Who-based short fiction.

/who/ did it once. Now, we're gonna do it again! Yet another entry in an age-old tradition of p̶a̶c̶k̶a̶g̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶g̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶i̶r̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶l̶e̶g̶i̶t̶i̶m̶a̶c̶y̶ / celebrating the magic of Who and the talent of a community.

There are no limits (except the story must be at least 1 word long, and preferably not in excess of 10,000, it's short fiction you fuck).

>- Can involve any Doctor(s), companion(s), side characters, spinoff characters and beyond, as your heart desires
>- Can be in any style, whether it's "legitimate writing", "pisstake", or "shitpost".
>- Can be about absolutely anything
>- The main focus is on good fun in the vein of the wiki, although serious entries are allowed. (If you're going to write smut, maybe approach it with a degree of levity)

Stuck for ideas? Try starting with your favourite TARDIS team (or for timeliness, 12/Bill “I'm a lesbian” Potts) and one of these authentic titles:
http://www.saberpunk.net/DoctorWho/DoctorWhoSerialGenerator.php
https://glyphobet.net/drwho
And free scenario prompts:

We are going to be starting an index on the wiki for the collection. Anyone can contribute, no signups/pitches required. If you have ideas, feel free to broadcast them.
The rest is self-explanatory. Format for uploading your work is up to you, as long as it can be conveniently copied across (and ideally don't spam long texts in /who/ directly). (Pastebin works well.) Due date is tentatively August 22nd.

BONUS: Anyone who wants to do cover art or "illustrations" is encouraged

Still, I'd have loved to see Jack in that episode, fighting side-by-side with the Doctor instead of all those random accomplices Moffat made up on the spot, though I loved it when Hugh Bonneville from that pirate episode earlier that series appeared again even if it was for just ten seconds

It's too bad, because RTD's is really informative and makes a great behind-the-scenes book.

I have only watched a few stories of the classic era and find them a bit tedious, they kinda drag out and i end up getting bored. What are some of the better stories from Classic Who? I'd like to watch some more of the less boring ones.

Well, looks like fate just can't agree with you.

I for one welcome our new Briggs Finish Canon

The Monks will still kill The Doctor permanently, though.

Where else could I find Capaldi and try to seduce him into sleeping with me? I'm sure Capaldi will be at conventions in the future, unlike Eccles.

Christmas Special title will be
>The Doctor Marshalls

Think about it. First he falls. Then he meets Hartnell and they both marshal their thoughts and end up regenerating with peace of mind, with Capaldi turning into Kris Marshall.

Screenshot this.

>Peter Davison's final episode is the greatest Doctor Who story of all time
>Colin Baker's first story is the worst of all time

What went wrong?

I asked about this two days ago and ended up watching Pyramids of Mars. It was surprisingly good. I hadn't watched much Classic Who at all and was expecting terrible special effects and wobbly sets but it was pretty good.
Granted, most of the story took place in and outside an actual mansion so no fear of wobbly sets.

I liked Baker using his scarf to overpower the Egyptian dude holding a gun. Does 4 use his scarf as a weapon/tool more often?
Also, Sarah Jane was a fucking cutie.
And the story was pretty good in the end, and the ending made sense as well. I guess going into Classic Who with very low expectations really does pay off. Anyway, what should I watch next, /who/? Continue with more Tom Baker stories or try out some of the other Doctors's acclaimed stories? What's your personal favourite Classic Who story?

At least a few times yeah, in The Hand of Fear and The Leisure Hive, I think.

Pyramids of Mars is very good, yeah.

More Tom Baker might suit you - Genesis of the Daleks if you can handle a six-parter.

Or Frontier in Space if you want Jon Pertwee.

My favourite classic serial is probably Tomb of the Cybermen, but it's older and paced pretty slowly.

I got into Classic Who by googling "best classic doctor who stories" and going with the fan consensus lmao.

why does everyone like frontier in space so much? first four parts are boring imo
>>

Tomb of the Cybermen was actually the first Classic Who I watched and it was pretty good. Also watched Spearhead in Space, and now Pyramids. Not sure on Pertwee because I dislike the idea of him being stuck with UNIT.
