When did I say any of that?

I just said that growing a moustache is a perfectly womanly thing for a woman to do because it's literally what happens if you just leave the female body to grow as usual. Also that "dressing like a man" is a totally arbitrary concept, there's nothing about trousers that is inherently to do with masculinity.

I'm not much of a David Lynch fan outside of that film and Twin Peaks as a whole. I like Mulholland and Lost Highway, and Eraserhead was the first "cult classic" I ever watched, but the rest of his stuff doesn't excite much... I feel like Inland Empire stands apart from the rest of his work as some colossal nightmare fuel that has made me feel ill, cry and never lets go. Maybe you need to be on the right mindset (at the time I was hooked on DXM) or watch it under certain conditions, but to me it was a very powerful experience.

I usually post in these generals but I haven't been much since Ep 8.

It's not that I didn't like it. I loved it. I thought it was amazing and mesmerizing.

I dunno how to describe it. I feel like it kind of knocked the wind out of me (in a good way) and I don't really feel any compulsion to discuss the episode like I usually do.

I have a really hard time deciding whether MD or IE is his magnum opus. IE is an absolute nightmare but with a happy end. IE is Lynch at his most "Lynchian", the film is incredibly complex and obtuse making it very hard to watch the first time around. The more I watch it though, the better and better it gets. It will probably be my no.1 Lynch film soon enough.

Really? I thought Lynch had chosen it. The lyrics are related to Diane's feelings, and it's from 1962 (The Sylvia North Story seems to take place in the 50s or early 60s) so it's a perfect song choice for the movie.

The reason I personally disliked IE but loved MD is that I feel like MD has some level of cohesiveness and payoff while IE has absolutely none. IE is the most "lynchian" but to the point where I feel like he had his head up his own ass and just cranked his crazy meter to the extreme but forgot to add actual substance. IE also feels like a retread of the vibe and concept of MD but without the style or substance, the movie looks like complete shit.

The story itself was FROSTING, the visual storytelling was LYNCHING.

does anyone still need a 1080p webrip of the episode?

July 4th. Seriously. Federal holidays usually cause most tv programs to take a break.

Then don't make a webm for /tv/. Such a sadness.

It's better that way tbqhwy. If it was just a continuation of the original show with the original characters it would just be a zombified parody of the original forever tarnishing the first two series (and S2 already tarnished S1 enough).

Why does Michael J Anderson hate Lynch? Why didn't Lynch cast him for this season?
>>
>>84339656

This. Usually we get one or the either but this LYNCHED and FROSTED combo was overkill
>>
Given that Bad Coop got shot and died, Good Coop HAS to wake up now, doesn't he? He just fucking HAS to. I hate Lynch teasing this bullshit with us wasting episodes.

I fucking told you I encoded it as BT.709 TV-range. Stay mad, you're hilarious. I bet you're one of the people who flip out in torrent comments for the 1080p WEBRiPS and say "WHY IS IT SO SMALL???"

It's not better that way. If you're not going to make the characters part of the story, don't put them in the show at all. Giving them cheesy cameos is just unsubstantial fan service.
>>
>>84338480

Very good taste. My fave is Mulholland but Mulholland, Inland Empire, and FWWM would be my holy trinity. I would have the last 4 in the same order too. I can't believe there are people on this forum who love The Elephant Man so much. It's so much weaker than his best stuff. One of his only two movies I would consider less than good, just okay.

>>
>>84339696
If this doesn't wake him up, I honestly don't know what will.

>Coffee meme didn't wake him up
>Mike couldn't wake him up
>A life threatening situation didn't wake him up

His doppelganger dying momentarily should wake him up.

Make a 1080p webm of the entire episode with sound and post it here with the sound intact without losing any quality and keep it under 3 MB

I thought this is how the episode was going to end. The same type of "situp" shot we saw with DoppelCoop, except with DougieCoop in his bed.

Because he writes good material for himself. He could have easily wrote a scene where Cole stands around awkwardly in a bar while some girl says "Gordon was always Cole" but he didn't, he wrote that scene for someone else.

When DoppelCoop got shot, I thought we were getting 50 minutes of Cooper kino. But I was wrong
>>
>>84339804

Yes. The most accessible of his movies but it's still very good. It's also not as far a cry from Lynch as people like to say. It contains the tonal shifts, highway imagery, and use of music wedded to tender scenes that border on sentimentality. Watch it for sure.
>>
>>84338391
Either the doppelganger had another trick up his sleeve with BOB's help, or BOB is in control now.

The other alternative is Dougie Coop (the real cooper) is the one who got up.

Either way badcoop has been momentarily weakened, expect Dougie Coop to gain alot more function but not be fully whole. He's going to start remembering things and realize he's cooper
>>
>>84339804

I like it a lot. It's more straight than anything else he has done though.
>>
>>84339710
I doubt it, but I'm sure it represents the exact same part of David Lynch's unconscious mind as the woodsmen do.
>>
how do you know when it's lynch and when it's frost? In general what is lynch and what is frost in the first two seasons?

>>84339080

Unironically Top 5 Lynch for me.
>>
>>84339872
Is BOB still inside of DoppelCoop though? I half suspect that BOB is now with Jeffries. Surely he knew that when Ray attempted to kill DoppelCoop, that something like this would happen. Jeffries has spent time in the Convenience Store, and has been to their meetings, or so he claims. It's very likely that the dirty woodsmen characters were acting on his behalf in retrieving BOB.
>>
>>84339879
Lynch is anything visual, Frost is when you get lore dumps. This episode was a combination of a lore dump with Lynch visuals.
>>
>>84339901
Bozo, Ray literally calls Phillip 2 seconds after that scene
>>
Given that the episodes are just cut together and don't form real episodes, there's a good chance the next episode will open up back in the 1950s world and follow the girl with the bug in her throat

>how do you know when it's lynch and when it's frost?

It's like the black/white lodges, they generally blend together. Lynch credits Frost for most of Twin Peaks lore: the owls, forest, and supernatural beings. Lynch did contribute a lot to the lore in FWWM.

Lynch mostly contributed to the humor and cinematic/visual style of the first two seasons.

The girl who's mouth the frog entered could be Leland's mother.

The Twin Peaks wiki says Leland was born in 44' (no idea where they got this info) and Ray Wise was born in 47' so it could fit into 40's-50's.
It would make sense that her son would be succeptible to the lodges, esp. after his task was complete (concieving Laura).
From what I remember from the original show Leland saw BOB at many times in his life before BOB started possessing him after Laura was born
>>
>>84340552
But the final sequence of the episode occurs in 1956.
>>
>>84340552

can we all agree this is an origin story for BOB?

But who/what are these black face men?
>>
>>84339465
The last time we saw briggs he was sent to one of the lodges
>>
>>84340785
They're credited as "The Dirty Naggars"
>>
>>84340606
Could still fit, Ray Wise was in his early 40's during S1. They could retcon Leland to be a little younger.
The girl would be too old to be Sarah Palmer.

Another plausible alternative is she is the log lady - the wiki states she disappeared for a time in 1947'
