At worst you could say some parts dragged a bit too long even by Lynch standards, but the majority was excellent. Especially that ending scene, fucking great. We did get "actual plot" continuation too, the whole deal with Ray and doppelcoop. We got a ton of exposition, and it's very likely that as we get more context from future episodes what we saw in this one will make even more sense.

That could be right as well. The purple world definitely existed before the bomb. Whether the bomb created it or just allowed access to it is the same thing for the purposes of the show since it can access our world backwards and fowards in time. Okay so if this thing was about how bob was born then what was up with the laura palmer in the ball scene? If Laura is supposed to be a counter measure to Bob I don't really get it because she basically just gets tortured and ruined by Bob? When I first watched it I assumed it was back in the present and the spirits ate Bob and that meant Laura could finally be free and return to Earth and do whatever dead people on Earth do. I realized that is probably wrong after it showed 1945 and sped up to 1956.

How was this even confusing as an episode? It's like people need shit handed out to them. Sometimes you just experience things.

Nuclear bomb, fire, etc. Alright, Bob is born, you see as much when Mother "births" him. BOB is the evil that men do, so nuclear bomb. Great. The rest was just glorious, violent, nightmarish imagery and sound direction. It's meant to elicit a damn feeling, not every last color and flame has a meaning. It's BOB being born, just drawn out and meant to terrify. That's it.

Really cool how it tied into the Secret History btw.

Bit with the Giant and the woman in that tower related to the Mauve room was the only sorta confusing bit. What I got from it is that Laura may very well be incarnated - that, or she's related to defeating BOB. No point convoluting it more than that till more episodes come out.

The boy and girl walking home was probably just meant to show her as innocent, and BOB (the insect) as targeting her to corrupt. Innocence. I doubt the boy is anyone special, and if he is it'll be spelled out. Doubt the girl is related to Leland except tangentially, BOB was seen near Leland's grandpa's home and he referred to him as Robertson. Maybe the girl passes BOB to him, but I think it's more just showing how BOB came to be and that he's always been drawn towards corrupting innocence.

The creepy hobos were confirmed to be associated with the convenience store and are minor lodge spirits. The one who talked over the radio could be MIKE enabling BOB to take a host, but I kinda doubt it. Either way, was definitely putting people to sleep to allow BOB to find a host since he stopped right afterwards. Super terrifying btw. Really well done. The scene with the bug going into the girl's mouth especially, as well as the spirit dance after Doppelcoop got shot.

Overall, loved it. People are overanalyzing instead of experiencing the episode. Idk.
