Somehow my family knew nothing of this story.
It seemed to me as if these terrible events had been completely erased from memory.
Who, if not we, could be a credible witness to the fact that the victims were not, an anonymous mass.
Who, if not we, could name them, and thus help bring down the walls of silence and taboo.
By reversing the anonomization, we give our murdered relatives their identity, and some dignity back.
>>84114241
That's clearly photoshopped though.
I recently just watched through all the Genesis onwards Dalek stories from Old Who and almost all of them were really fucking good, Revelation of the Daleks especially. I've never heard anyone talking about it but I thought it was excellent.

>>84114155
Still the best Master episode in the new series.
>>84114374
Dalek stories always tend to be the best stories, I even likeVictory.
Do you think the Daleks would rape one of the companions if they knew it would upset The Doctor? I know they don't have cocks but they just just use a Dalek puppet or build a sexbot
>>84114374
What did you think of Destiny / Resurrection / Remembrance?
>>84114472
That's.. I dunno. I'm torn.
It seems kind of tasteless, even if it were something that we'd ever get to see. Barring that for a moment, take into account that we really would never get to see that since this is a family show at the end of the day.
I just don't know how I'd feel if it actually did happen. That's really fucked up, to the point where I can't imagine it being poignant or thematic in any way.
>>84114374
>>84114461
Either of you like the Paradigm Daleks?
I feel like I'm alone in my love for them. I don't understand why they're singled our for looking cartoony or dumb when any Dalek looks objectively ridiculous. It's part of their charm.
>>84114492
Not him but shit/decent but unnecessarily violent/good/you forgot revelation which is a fucking weird story
The unnecessary violence in Resurrection sts up Tegan's departure nicely, to be fair
>>84114562
They were on a hiding to nothing because the RTD Daleks are the best design the show has ever had. I like the idea of the casings being more colourful but the dimensions just make them look awful, they're too fat when they would look better more sleek.
>>84114531
>>84114531
I just mean theoretically, I don't expect anything like that to happen in the show, obviously. But they are vicious bastards and known to use various method of torture, I don't think there is anything they would consider beneath them if it furthers their goals somehow.
Then again, they are so autistically detached from conventional ideas of sex and taboo they would probably choose not to rape someone when they could do something else that causes greater physical harm, not understanding the emotional impact such an act could potentially have.
>>84114697
>they are so autistically detached
I love that. I've never looked at them in that light.
Frankly they could be doing a lot of heavy stuff, but we'll never see them do it or even hear about it in heavy detail. It sucks. It's a big part of why they're not really scary anymore.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5XrjOnd_6Q
>>84114601
I love Resurrection because it's literally a case of "Fuck it, we haven't had a story in a while where we killed everyone, let's get them to ham it up for giggles"
Case in point - the deaths of the reconstructed Bomb Squad / Stein / Lytton's Special Guard / Female Adviser

>>84114835
Fenric/Ghostlight/Survival are some of my favorites from Who
>>84114731
>I've never looked at them in that light.
It's why I like them so much; a great example is their inability to comprehend music. They hear the sounds, the notes, but they don't feel the rhythm, it doesn't stir anything inside of them.
>>84114661
I liked the idea of the different ranks though. Felt there was potential for regular Dalek stories to feature Drones and Scientist with a Strategist leader, and have a Supreme show up for finales/two-parters. Plus the mystery of the Eternal's purpose (although I'm kind of glad as given Moffat's track record the answer would be something retarded)
desu the only bad thing about the Moffat Daleks is the bright colors. If they were the same color as the RTD Daleks it wouldn't look so bad
>>84114846
You just know Clara will show up, talk to Bill about their moms they both lost and she'll fight back the cybersuit and survive.
>the premise of the finale is the Master turning desperate humans into cyborgs
BRAVO MOFFHACK, WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS
>>84114883
did they seriously get a lot of flak for being power ranger daleks?
>>84114920
Yes, it's why future stories continued using Time War Daleks.
I'm convinced the majority of the outcry was from normies who only watched Tennant crying "not muh Daleks"; any true who fan would be used to Daleks changing colour/appearance
>>84114911
Moff rips off RTD yet again!!
>>84114880
Yeah the ranks were a good idea, if anything closer to the how the Daleks were in the classic series.
>>84114911
I thought humans of the future did that to themselves to survive, and the Master just found them?
The stuff in the drips the topknots are hooked up to is dark water

NO
WAS THAT TOO HARD TO FOLLOW?
>>84115081
According to one "there were furnaces" when they arrived at Utopia. So The Master already had conversion factories set up, waiting
>>84114983
There was no outcry when they restyled the TARDIS, or the Cybermen, or anything else.
The truth is the Time War Daleks had pretty much established themselves as iconic by that point, and the New Paradigm were not good enough to take their place.
>>84114745
>we haven't had a story in a while where we killed everyone
Warriors of the Deep, everyone dies
>The Awakening
>Frontios
Resurrection of the Daleks, everyone dies
A two episode gap, bravo
I mean I guess you could argue Resurrection was intended to end the previous season, but in that universe you'd have Resurrection where everybody dies, immediately followed by Warriors where everybody dies
Gallifrey Base is going to be so fucking buttmad when the gay, black companion gets turned into a cyberlesbian. I can't wait.
>>84115145
>TARDIS
normies don't notice minor details like that
>Cybermen
That was well into Moff's era, Daleks were episode 3 of his first series, while the Tennant afterglow was still strong.
>>84115196
>major redesign for the tardis in the first episode
>normies don't notice
excuse me what
>>84115145
I'd say the execution was also kind of insulting.
>The old Daleks just immediately admit the new are superior and they deserve to die as a result
I feel like Moffat was jacking off and trying to get everyone to believe he was better and praying RTD would suck him off for it.
>>84115219
I'm not a good man. I'm an idiot. I thought you were talking about the exterior and not the interior.
>>84114461
I really fucking love the Daleks, so I'm a fan of almost any Dalek story. I recognise a good few I've watched have shitty stuff in them but I still like the stories as a whole.
>>84114492
>Destiny
I liked it a lot. I thought the idea behind the Dalek/Movellan stalemate was really good, and I love the scene where the Daleks rigged with bombs are trundling towards the Movellan ship, with the lead one screaming at the others to stay true to their orders.
>Resurrection
I quite enjoyed seeing the post-war Daleks who're now so timid they're forced to rely on human soldiers, and Davros having a fucking stroke when he finds out how badly the Daleks have fucked up. The duplicates were cool, and Lytton and Stein were good characters: Stein especially went out well given that he managed to resist an extermination long enough to press the self destruct button. Plus, the start of the Imperial/Regenade civil war when the Supreme orders Davros' death.
>Remembrance
My first old Who Dalek story and quite possibly one of my favourite Who stories. Seventh and Ace are excellent together, and the Imperial/Renegade civil war is an incredibly cool idea and I wish the New Series would have something like it.
>>84114562
I don't mind them but don't really like how bulky they are. I like Daleks being colour coded by rank and profession though, and it's a shame that the runners seemed to pussy out of using the Paradigm Daleks consistently and just went back to the bronze ones. It would have been nice if, say, the commanding officer in Into the Dalek was a red drone.
>>84114983
The Paradigm Daleks were easily the most dramatic change in Dalek appearance though. Throughout most of Old Who the actual models remained pretty much unchanged except for colour and some more minor details, while Paradigm Daleks are a pretty sudden change in shape and aesthetic.
Haпoминaю пpo книги.
>>84114461
I am fucking sick of classic Dalek variants being featured in promos and previews for episodes and then getting 10 seconds. If they're going to harp on about how THE SPECIAL WEAPONS DALEK IS BACK maybe they could actually fucking use it in-story?
MOFFHACK AND GAYPISS TO RUIN DRACULA:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-40347479
The brains behind the BBC's Sherlock series are to make a new version of Dracula, the corporation has confirmed.
Talks are under way with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss about a series of 90-minute films based on Bram Stoker's novel about the Transylvanian vampire.
No scripts have been written and the Count has yet to be cast. According to the Radio Times, though, the series is likely to air in 2019.
Moffat's wife Sue Vertue will produce the show for Hartswood Films.
According to Variety, it is unclear whether Dracula, like Sherlock, will have a modern-day British setting.

>>84115221
>I'd say the execution was also kind of insulting.
>The old Daleks just immediately admit the new are superior and they deserve to die as a result
To be honest, I'd say series 5 went a bit too far in trying to make a clean break from everything that had come before.
It feels like there are more references to the Eccleston-Tennant eras in the episodes after Name of the Doctor than in s5-7.

RTD's run: 4 series, specials' year, 3 Torchwood series, 3 SJA series, ½ Australian "spin-off"
Moffat's run: 5 series, 1 Torchwood series, 2 SJA series, ½ Australian "spin-off", 1 BBC Three "spin-off"
>>84118592
His betting odds have narrowed at the bookies. Same happened with Capaldi and Smith just before they got announced. Could mean something, could mean nothing. But it's pretty unusual considering he's basically an unknown
>>84118592
The best indication there is atm is the bookmaker odds.
>>84118688
And yet you didn't mention any spin-off episodes in your list
xD
>>84118592
No credible source. He's just a young face and kinda Tennant-esque, which some people will love and is something the BBC will probably go for. I don't believe it for a second though.
Only source are the bookies, who correctly predicted Smith and Capaldi at the last second because the odds went up dramatically probably because an insider put huge amounts of money on it at the time.

/who/ maintains your heart?
Honestly, Rosenthal may tick the BBC's boxes but I think Chibnall may want someone with a bit more 'weight' and 'meat' and 'gravitas' to them, which leads me to think it'll be Andrew Bucham or Marshall
>>84119077
There is literally 0% chance it's Marshall. It's literally and practically impossible.
IS MARSHALL ON TWITTER?

>Peter Capaldi played W.H.O Doctor in World War Z before playing the Doctor.
>Tom Rosenthal played Doctor Albowski Poo
Coincidence?!Yes.
>>84118623
Oxygen.
Based Mathieson does it again.
>>84119113
Nope
What a female doctor?
>>84119105
>There is literally 0% chance it's Marshall. It's literally and practically impossible.
This is bullshit.

>>84119113
Nope, neither is Andrew Buchan, but Tom Rosenthal is...So is Richard Ayoade but the chances of it being him are 0
>>84119077
>>84119105
Honestly, it'll probably be Marshall, unless Chibbers decides to play favourites and gets Buchan in. But it will not be Rosenthal.
Utopia is still the most exciting Doctor Who episode EVER
>>84117197
nah i just pick at them
I see a lot of people here going "who the fuck is Kris Marshall", but I assume those are mostly Americans. I bet they had no idea who the fuck Capaldi was either until the rumours started growing/the announcement came.
>>84114212
This is unironically a kino quote
>Cybermen now occupy every landmass on this planet. But you need not fear. Cybermen will remove fear. Cybermen will remove sex, and class, and colour, and creed. You will become identical. You will become like us.
when will that cute paki girl from that hotel ep replace bill
>>84119251
>the rumours started growing/the announcement came.
Those sound like excellent finale two-parter titles.
>The Rumours Starting Growing
>The Announcement Came
>>84119262
Cybermen are commie faggots.
The show came under a massive lawsuit from Gamefreak, after the BBC was accused of plagarising the water type Pokemon Frogadier, his frog like appearance and popular catchphrase "Gosh golly jee Doctor, this situation sure is a rough crumpet!" were shared by the Pokemon of the same name. Gamefreak won the court case, and BBC was forced to re-edit the episodes and change the appearance of the character, Nicholas Courtney was hired to replace the scenes with the animated Frog character, and all older footage featuring the original Frogadier was destroyed.
I'm thinking it'll be Marshall due to how quiet he's been, can't be that hard to get a quote off him denying it after all the articles.
>>84119113
How does he know? Can't be bothered going through his list of followers but I'm sure someone will
INTRODUCINGRobert Carlyle
AS........The Doctor
>>84119251
I had no idea who Eccleston, Tennant, Smith and Capaldi were before they were cast.
>>84119327
I'm ok with this.
>>84119113
I've just checked his 'following' list and if you keep scrolling, doesn't take too long, he is following Tom Rosenthal
>>84119324
>I'm thinking it'll be Marshall due to how quiet he's been, can't be that hard to get a quote off him denying it after all the articles.
Same. Literally nothing from him since his interviews on leaving DIP.
Forgetting about the Marshall/Buchan/Rosenthal thing, who do you want to see as the new companion once the Chibster takes over?
Who's hot, young and available? We had a minority with Bill so we're probably in for another white girl. Blonde? Ginger? Brown hair?
>>84119395
it's gonna be that canadian female comedian who is frequently on qi, mock the week etc
>>84119393
Exactly. Buchan probably has stuff lined up like theatre or drama. Rosenthal has stuff like Friday Night Dinner or Plebs or something. Marshall's been very, very quiet for a while now.
>>84119113
IT'S HAPPENING BOYS PLACE YOUR BETS
(I also checked to see if Marshall's Twitter is on there, and it isn't).
>>84119447
https://twitter.com/Da_Whelan/status/877275498602213376
HAPPENING HOLY FUCK
>they've cast a BBC3 actor as the Doctor
>>84119439
Katherine Ryan? I've never seen her act but god damn, she'd be nice eye candy for sure. I'm actually liking the idea. Though, honestly, they'll probably go with someone with at least a British accent.
>>84119395
I don't really care about ethnicity as long as she's a jenna tier qt
John barrowman for doctor 14?
Tom Rosenthal would be the first one I don't like. I can't believe it's real. It can't be possible.
wosenthal confiwmed!!!!!! hooway!
>it's him
>>84119521
don't be too sure anon. matt smith looked awful from the promo pics but he turned out really nice. who knows what rosenthal could bring to the table eh?
>>84119467
Fuck me I'd love David Harewood as the Doctor. Great international appeal as well. It'll be Marshall though.
>>84119467
>>84119447
HE ХOTET
>>84119447
Reminder that this kid visited set when they were filming the finale
Capaldi regenerates into 13 in the finale, so it's literally possible that he met Tom Rosenthal that day
>>84118893
This is objectively true, Hartnell and the rest are pure crap
>>84119557
I'm open to new stuff, and I'll 100% watch everything related to Doctor Who before I die, but I just actively dislike him. I was okay with Matt.
>>84119570
oh shit
>>84119560
Marshall would be my first choice. I like Tom Rosenthal but he strikes me more of an awkward/geeky male companion type, not the Doctor.
Although I haven't seen him in anything apart from YouTube clips, so I can't really judge
>>84119395
My dream companion is Rani from SJA.
Otherwise, pretty much all English actresses I know are either already on Doctor Who, Haley Atwell (Doesn't have companion qualities IMHO) or Ophelia Lovibond (Not particularly memorable).
>>84118893
the correct answer is obviously hartnell, troughton, early pertwee, early tom baker and late mccoy
>>84119570
>Reminder that this kid visited set when they were filming the finale
citation needed
>>84119395
Would love to see Jo take up a Nardole-esque role.
>>84119395
>>84119439
I dunno about full-time companions, but Miranda Hart and Sarah Millican are bound to appear as Christmas Special guest stars one of these days.
>>84119570
Would they really let slip who it is to visitors though? I doubt it
>>84119615
Nailed it. He's not Doctor calibre.
>>84119629
Are you trying to give her a heart attack? She could never keep up
>it's Rosenthal
please not rosenthal
>>84119630
>Miranda Hart and Sarah Millican
But neither of them are funny. Or fun to watch.
>>84119169
we know you made it, you're another cunt from tardisposting and tried to post it in there aswell. fuck outta our /who/
https://twitter.com/MineCartMayhem/status/846795816782172160
It's Tom Rosenthal. Holy fuck.
Holy kek.
>>84119615
Marshall's my first choice as well. I've seen Rosenthal in the comedy series he's done but he has no presence, no timing and really isn't a good actor (yet, I mean, he's still quite young). I agree though that he'd make a nice companion to the Doctor. Maybe go back to the formula of Doctor, female companion and male companion. Rosenthal could play the female's brother or something. He'd be fine as that. But really, not in the main role.
>>84119629
This would be excellent actually. I can see her being very Nardole-esque. Maybe in the future some day.
>>84119113
>https://twitter.com/MineCartMayhem/status/877269604040572929
>implying he got told
the bbc is gonna be pissed at mini matt if this is true. though there's not much they can do unless he signed an NDA and that's pretty unlikely
Foot face for next doctor screenshot this post
AND THE NEW DOCTOR IS..................................
>>84119658
>implying Nardole runs anywhere
Plus she's got surprising stamina, she walked 135 miles from one side of the country to the other in seven days for Sports Relief.
>>84119251
Well Capaldi had had two parts in the Whoniverse already but I get your point
I remember being sort of upset at the fact that they were recycling the actor — I didn't care if there was a precedent for it, it sort of broke the immersion. I get that Time Lords use other people's faces because there are only so many possible faces in the universe, though. I've digressed from your point, anyways.
NO!
IT CANT BE ROSENTHAL
I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS
I've already accepted Tom as The Doctor
how do we know he isn't bsing?
>>84119736
Fuck, please no
>>84119715
I never said that. I dislike both of them. I'm just saying that they're bound to make an appearance someday as a comedy character/one-off Christmas Special companion. They always get a "comedian of the year" in the Christmas Specials. It's only Catherine Tate and Nardole who stuck with it, and Tate turned out to be one of the better companions of NuWho.
What if it's Marshall with Rosenthal as his companion?
if its rosenthal imma be so sad
EMBRACE THE ROSENTHAL
>>84119853
I'm still halfway out the door
Tom Rosenthal is more of a meme/wacky personality than Smith. If true this will piss a lot of people off. But maybe that's what they're going for - a complete contrast to Capaldi.
Is Doctor speculation usually this fun?
>>84119894
>a complete contrast to Capaldi
Tbf, Marshall could still be a big enough contrast
>>84119736
>Reece Shearsmith
I would cum all over my own face if this happened. Sadly, he's busy with Inside No. 9 and I'm fine with that because it's just about the best thing on telly atm.
>>84119900
I don't know I'm still posses this
>>84119789 idiot thinks nickleback is a good band and is the most diverse band
>>84119790
Oh yeah...forgot about that guy. How's he doing on the bookies list? I'd be alright with him, but I'm still set on Marshall.
>>84119945
god I fucking hate this place
>>84119589
>Hartnell
>Bad
>If 13 is male I'm done with the show. So much for "risk and boldness"
I wouldn't mind a female doctor but lol
>>84120000
>"risk and boldness"
>Moffat
When will he risk to try and write better?
>>84119589
>muh spooky monsters
>muh samey stories
>>84114920
>>84114983
I think people are misrepresenting the problem a little bit, although people did over-react to the redesign. The problem it was it looked cheap and tacky, and it kinda was. They only made it so they could sell inexpensive, re-coloured toys for huge mark-ups, so it didn't help that the dalek eternal was described in marketing as "yeah, we don't know yet lol!"
>>84119305
That's what makes them great baddies!
LAST OF THE /WHO/LORDS
