I think Lynch going from 8 to 18 episodes forced some filler. So far this season feels like FWWM with the deleted scenes intact: long cuts and slow dialogue (every scene in Twin Peaks PD), and Dougie Jones arc being about the actual Dougie Jones and not Cooper. I think this will be like season 2: a long, padded season with 10/10 episodes. But i'm sure those 10/10 episodes will be Maddy murder tier good.

Nah see the 'people' in this general think Lynch 'doesn't do fan service'.
They also think Twin Peaks is made in Lynch's perfect vision, an 'argument' that is so easily BTFO that there is no point even discussing it.
>>
>>84063184
Lynch is the one that wanted the more episodes. Why would he threaten to walk if the episode count wasn't raised if he was just going to make most of it filler?

List of crimes we can possibly confirm so far by DoppleCoop after he left the lodge;

>Murdered Major Garland Briggs and burned his office down
>Raped Audrey Horne while she was in a coma after the bomb at the bank (She had a son, who later runs the kid over with the truck)
>Killed the FBI agent in Columbia after Albert gave Jeffries the name
>Raped and probably beat and abused Diane after going to her house shortly after leaving the lodge
>Probably murdered Annie

Briggs is one hundred percent. The Diane stuff was obvious after this episode. I don't know how people can be confused about it. Audrey rape is probably a solid 90% true, their kid turned out to be a real bastard but he is half evil dopplganger so. Annie is pure speculation, but I think it will come out that her murdered her, and probably raped her as well.
>>
>>84063192
To include the Black Lodge imagery.

Might have only been one time now that I think about it but it was two things. First was earplugs because the Norwegians were being too noisy for Cooper to sleep. The second was back issues of Flesh World where they eventually find a picture of Ronette.

As somebody who works in a prison I can guarantee that there is no way that any guard would deliver a cryptic message about a strawberry to the governor. He didn't kill Briggs in the fire. The fire was the kind that "consumes but does not burn" ( I can't remember who said this but it was talked about) and was kept in the lodge until Evil Cooper had a use for him (probably to manufacture Dougie). He cut his head off in the lodge and that's why Coop saw his head floating there. That's why his body was still in its 40s and had only been dead for a few days.

She was in a coma. The doctor saw Cooper near her room sneaking out of the hospital. The son she had from the rape is the Horne in the show that runs over the kid and gets a coin teleported into his mouth.

None of this is confirmed yet, except for the fact that he is a Horne, but it seems likely now.

>Audrey wouldn't have had the ring. I'm not sold on the Audrey rape but why exactly would not-Coop visit her while she's in a coma?

Annie had the ring and we see it get stolen by a nurse in The Missing Pieces. We know Dopplecoop obtained the ring. It makes more sense to think he went to see Annie looking for the ring.

It's hard to inconspicuously rape someone who is in intensive care after an explosion, and we know it's not after hours since Doc Hayward is still up and you could expect the Horne family to be there for Audrey.

But it's Lynch. Maybe Dopplecoop went on a right bender before leaving Twin Peaks, but I think we'd have heard more about it by now in S3 if he had.

Confused about a plot that none of us know the end to? I'm speculating, fool. How else do you explain Briggs body being young and recently deceased? He clearly wasn't killed in a fire like Bobby said because his body wasn't burned. Let's see your explanation
>>
>>84064005
>but I think we'd have heard more about it by now in S3 if he had

There's no reason to.

He kills Garland and burns down his office. He was the last one seen with Garland but everyone trusted Cooper so they assume it was someone else who it the fire.

He visits Diane and rapes and abuses her, she never tells anyone and never calls the cops because he was her trusted friend and she doesn't understand what happened.

He rapes Audrey in the hospital while she's in a coma. She has no idea it happens and until she comes out of the coma (which is not even confirmed she ever did) no one knows about this either. If she had a son from it 9 months later they don't know who the father is.

Annie he probably tortured and raped and then murdered because Coop loved her most of all. He dumps the body in some sewer or in the woods somewhere and it never gets found. She just disappears.

I just can't come to terms that the sense of agency is completely removed from everything Coop/Dougie is up to.

In the first two seasons Coop, even when guided by the lodge spirits, the one jumping into action and initiating events which was the defining trait of his character. Pure love of investigative action on any level. He was human agency incarnate.

And now, even when he was still in the lodge at the start of the season, he's reduced to sleepwalking around following vague clues given to him by whoever is directing him around, MIKE or the fucking tree or whatever else. Literally some eyeless spirit showed him how to get out of the other plane of existence and then he's following blinking lights ever since.
No doubt Lynch is doing it on purpose, but just like his trademark long and slow shots this whole spiel is taking too long for comfort.

And without a doubt Coop will be in Dougie mode until the end of the season following endless vague clues.

While I don't put it past Lynch it seems unlikely given the connection between Dopplecoop and the ring.

>Annie he probably tortured and raped and then murdered because Coop loved her most of all. He dumps the body in some sewer or in the woods somewhere and it never gets found. She just disappears.

When though? She was in hospital and Dopplecoop didn't wait around long enough for her to be released. She'd also be under some degree of police surveillance because Harry&co would want to know what happened in the Lodge.

If Annie went missing from hospital and was never seen again the same night Dopplecoop took his leave it would raise a lot of suspicion.

So seriously, what the fuck IS the ring? It's made of a piece of the Formica table, it has some property that makes the person who wears it unable to be possessed, it time travels, but it also fucking causes Chester Desmond to disappear?
And why did Dougie have it?
>>
>>84064230

The timeline is fuzzy enough to allow for those things.

Bear in mind Doppelcoop/BOB is not your garden variety serial killer and can pull some paranormal strings to get shit done.

If he wanted to have his way with Audrey all he needed to do is walk into the hospital and do some electric mojo to turn off the lights/feed for 10 minutes and so on.

And Annie he didn't need to kill right away. He could've sat on that idea for years, even decades before getting around to it.
>>
>>84064230

The thing you have to remember is Cooper WAS one of the people protecting her, and everyone trusted him and knew that he loved her, and to everyone that really was Cooper who got out of the lodge. There are hundreds of different ways he could have abducted her and killed her, everyone would at the time trust whatever version of events he told to the police. He was an FBI agent, their friend, and basically a purely good person.

Bob's previous rapes never included that kind of thing.

That doesn't correlate with him acquiring the ring, since we know it was stolen from Annie.

Given that Hawk&co have brought up both Cooper and Annie, you'd think someone might have said "btw Annie died and Coop was the last person to see her", we know Dooplecoop left Twin Peaks very quickly and the last person he saw was Briggs. The window for him to murder Annie is incredibly small if we assume it happened before he went missing.

I can see all of this but the Diane part.

Seems most likely that before going to TP real Coop slept with Diane. Explains why he's really talkative on the tapes but she probably fell for him hard and then lost her shit when he just disappears and the FBI has no idea where he went.

She would have been able to tell Cooper's heart isn't there anymore or whatever before she saw him in prison. The other telltale thing is that Evil Cooper says the right thing (minus that fuck up with Cole) but without emotion or tone. So he says the right things (last time Cooper saw her was at her place and Cooper would never forget that night) but it comes off as cold.

The nurse stole the ring.

We still don't know if she's dead or alive. All we know is she was who Cooper loved most, so DoppleCoop would have wanted to hurt her the most. He was protecting her and everyone trusted him, if he wanted to kill her it would have been as easy as saying he wanted to move her to a location to protect her, everyone would have helped him. Later he just reports her missing, then disappears. Or instead disappears then then just abducts her a year later and her disappearance never gets solved.

Maybe she's even still alive, who knows. My bet is she disappeared 20+ years ago shortly after "Cooper" got out of the lodge and her disappearance was never solved. DoppleCoop will probably tell Cooper (assuming he ever recovers) about how he raped and killed her to torture him.

That version is possible sure. But she doesn't seem like someone who is just mad that she loved him and he disappeared. >The nurse stole the ring.

Yeah, and Dopplecoop gets the ring somehow. If he went into intensive care looking instead of raping Audrey then things make much more sense. He left town quickly, he'd have to have found out that the nurse had the ring before he left hospital.

>Later he just reports her missing, then disappears

Doesn't correlate with the last person who saw him being Briggs.

Completely non-argument to bring that up consider we've also never seen him imprisoned and we've never seen him do electric mojo only using a prison phone or use a laptop and phone to communicate with a box that turns into a small black pea.

All of these things we found out BOB/Doppelcoop could do in this season. Who knows what else he can do when he has to.

With Leland he had a specific thing he fed off of for decades. When he ended up in Doppelcoop he could move on a number of people in a variety of ways and since Coop was a nice person there were a lot of people he could shock and traumatize and feed of it.

Ok theory about Leland/Bob

In FWWM they are partners in crime where Leland occasionally struggles with what he's doing.

After killing Laura he goes to the grove and is replaced by a doppleganger instead.

I'm fairly certain dopplegangers are completely separate entities to the spirits. I suspect they kind of clone their consciousness into them and can ride around when they want (within constraints).

You (me, we) have no idea how important that scene is, though.

Fuck you all. Twin Peaks is my show. I just let David sit on the set because I'm afraid of becoming the next Jack Nance. Did you see how he almost killed the series with his awful Fire Walk With Me movie? He's the reason you all had to wait 25 years until that wound healed.

Buy my fucking book.

This show has no hope of being redeemed. David Lynch, please retire. You are devoid of ideas. Your characters are insipid. You try to make them intense, crazy, weird, and quirky, but they come off that way only if you have a mind of a middle-schooler. That whole scene between the drug dealers was laughably bad. Whoever was playing the older of the two is just a bad actor overplaying the part. "Look at me. I'm so crazy. I do karate moves for no apparent reason. That's how edgy I am." Nice directing there, Lynch. Oh, and that coin flip thing was so spooky and weird. No, not really. I'm sure Lynch fanboys will love the brutal scene of the woman being stabbed. Yes, nothing like gory graphic violence to help the show garner praise for being mature and intense.

What? It's completely on the nose, all it's doing is trying to highlight the dumb disconnect between a child untimely taken and an old man with nothing but luck, while at the same time establishing babby Horne's character.

It's an ultimately meaningless scene that could have been cut down by 5 minutes and been a LOT more punchy for it. The second you see the kid and the mother, you already know that one of them is going to die.

The beginning of Once Upon A Time In The West is pure kino.

The sweeping scene is autism.

the only autism is you. That scene was meant to make people anxious considering the pacing of this episode was faster that usual.

The truck was the one Richard hit the kid with, and Andy is trying to get answers for why it is on his yard and the guy is very nervous about something.
