Jeffries is stuck in some kind of lodge time/space anomaly/loop. Seems to me he can't physically leave Beunos Aires, every time he tries to he ends up back in the hotel.

My favorite part of the scene is the hotel boy though. Shitting his pants in fear and yet still cordially addressing the guy who just painfully phased through the wall in front of him as "Mr. Jeffries" and maintaining his professional posture even when breaking into screams.

>"Tiny thing that I liked, in a sea of things that I didn't like was that ace of spades card. That weird piggy bear demon drawn on it, that seemed a little freaky, I felt was a little iconic or something that you could see transposed onto a weird poster that you can buy on Etsy. I didn't see that many other moments in the episode that felt like they would make a great meme on Tumblr."

Windom Earle is unequivocally the best part of season two, simply because what enshrouds the Deleuzian representation of negation in “The Black Lodge” is by nature (W)indom (E)arle. We, the pure ample aspiration, the capital v-Viewer are held fantastically in a grip of pleasure as "solicitude", certainty as “knowingness” and “The Black Lodge” as ontological blockchain/godhead. TMFAP is absolute fact in opposition but the baroque villainy of WE's (and any Lovecraftian) the same sin to die “now” as on the path to Madness. The conditional “It” (DC) creates nothing in response, Earle's own humanity is reflected in his oeuvre of disguise-personalities. (performed) To WE (& the normative Cooper &Briggs) the Implacability of unsure sentiment is Earle’s selfenforcing principle, pleasure--simplicity. In Palmer, the reprised intelligences move towards psychosomatic transgression. WE's sickness is symptom & myth unlike the Palmer daughter his active agent is not important, but “normal” and yet pronouncedly considerable as such, bidding. “We a the, of not can he.” The subject of Earle is in an undiluted terrace viewed viewers become wrote wonders, noting nothing Indian anyhow in the Black Lodge (negation).

Looking at interviews I doubt a fourth season was in Lynch's cards. Frost basically gave it a "sure, why not?", MacLachlan only said he was up to it depending on whether Lynch/Frost were willing, and Lynch himself has to have a never-say-never mentality because he previously said there'd be no season 3.

They all seemed pretty surprised that the question would even be asked.
I'm betting this season will come to an end, but its world won't end with it. It was always sold as a limited series, and Lynch fought tooth and nail to have all 18 episodes for a single season.

Why was pic related whiny and fucking stupidwhilst evil Cooper is omniscient and manipulative?

How does Bob even work?
>>
>>83687812
The Missing Piece features a brief coda to the finale and a dream sequence in FWWM confirms Coop's fate, but it doesn't clarify much, it's a prequel. What did you not understand about it? It's surreal, but mostly straightforward.
>>
>>83688360
Bad Dale isn't Bob. He's literally Cooper's idealistic opposite.
Bob just partnered with Bad Dale and they're working together. He fucking hated dealing with Leland and wanted to possess Laura.

In the new season when evil/possessed coop is in jail he asks "are you still there?" which leads me to believe that although BOB can possess someone he's more of an influence that unlocks someone's darker impulses

> And suddenly, there was a terrible problem. A terrible and sad problem that I had to face without the emotion I so wanted to give! From Bobby's mouth came, slowly, small words of love, then confessions. Soon after, promises of loyalty and happiness forever.

> Laura, Laura, I can't let you hear this. Just watch his lips move, do not listen, I told myself, over and over. But Bobby meant it. He was, after all, the boy who had admired me for years, who had tugged on my ponytails for as long as I wore them, and soon after made a point to pass me at least once a day in the hallways at school, or to catch my eye in class. Smile, as if it were an unexpected sight.

> I was forced to do something cruel. Something that would make him, perhaps, rethink the entire idea of Laura. He had to see her as something he never thought existed. I had to laugh at him. Hard. Laugh until his eyes lost their light. I had to shoot him down, couldn't let him be so appealing to the same young Laura that BOB wants. The one I'm sure he's waiting for. To save myself, I had to laugh in the face of a boy, who now may never be so honest again.

> I am surprised to say that he phoned not fifteen minutes ago, and . . . somehow, in a mass of words that were sounding more rehearsed than heartfelt, he apologized for being too quick to recite such oaths of love when maybe I didn't find that attractive in a boy. That maybe I wanted someone who had to be broken a bit, before it all came out. . . . He told me he meant what he had said, but was wrong to say it so quickly.

> The whole thing sounded like it had been picked word for word out of the dictionary or thesaurus, and I couldn't help but wish for a moment that I was dead. Here he is apologizing for something I, and I'm certain girls everywhere, even outside of the Peaks, dream of hearing a boy say. He's chosen his words carefully, tried to prove he is still, hours after his orgasm, in love.
>>
>>83688450
Why would the Doppelganger need BOB to unlock his inhibitions? He's a being made of pure evil who's the complete opposite of Cooper. It's not as if he needs outside health.
>>

they made the show up as they went, and it's not some fantasy series about in-universe rules and regulations. the lodge forces are beyond our complete understanding. leland was a more complex character and his arc was about a man with repressed desires and half understood actions. evilcooper needs to be a different kind of character so the lodge effects him different, simple as that

I just started watching this show from the beginning after asking about it in the previous general and an asshole on one of m frequented message boards told me bob kills laura.

Tbh im not too impressed by the 1st and 2nd ep, should I keep going despite knowing the killer, disliking the overall feel so far, and hearing conflicting things about season 3?

it's an absolute bullshit theory that tries to link club silencio to the black lodge by a brunette and a blonde sitting beside eachother in the black lodge which is supposedly a laura/ronette "cameo", only it's not actually them, ronette was never in the black lodge, and silencio is nothing like the red room or black lodge.

there is a minor creative/production connection to twin peaks though:

>The Audrey spin-off that would’ve come about, it really ended up being the original idea for Mulholland Drive. That was either in between the first and second season or after the second season, but they were like, “What if we did a movie, and it’s Audrey in California?” And they talked about an opening scene of her driving along Mulholland Drive, and how she’s a little bit older. Whatever it was going to be, it never ended up happening for me. But I was young, and I thought it sounded weird, because no one ever really did that. I was, like, “Okay, but do people do that? Go from TV to a movie as the same character?” Then all those years later, David made the other one, and I didn’t have anything to do with it.

Some of it gets into headcanon territory but all the visual and thematic connections are there. One he doesn't look into is the Cowboy being similar to The Giant, a benevolent unnamed man who speaks in riddles without real motivation to want to help the character other than knowledge of the evil impending on him.
>>
>>83690422
>One he doesn't look into is the Cowboy being similar to The Giant, a benevolent unnamed man who speaks in riddles without real motivation to want to help the character other than knowledge of the evil impending on him.
The Cowboy is an agent for the studio who is basically threatening Adam Kesher with his monologue and saying 'pick the girl the execs want if you know what's good for you'. He's no Bob, but for what it's worth he's pretty much on the side of the "evil forces" of the first act of the film.

>Diane Selwyn, like Laura Palmer, is an intended victim of The Black Lodge
>Joe, the hitman she hires in the final third of the film, is either possessed by or is a more human manifestation of the Hobo behind Winkie’s Diner.
>Said Hobo is a lesser spirit of The Black Lodge who aids in acquiring victims for possessing spirits, much the way Mrs. Tremond and her grandson aided BOB’s attempts at Laura.
>Diane’s possessing spirits are the Elderly Couple.
>The blue key is Diane’s Owl Cave ring, the totem that binds her to the possessing spirit.
>Camilla is the catalyst to Diane’s readiness for possession.
>Club Silencio is the L.A. version of The Black Lodge’s waiting room.

this guy sounds like a numale cuck whose understanding of art comes from "Metal Gear Solid Explained" videos on youtube
>>
>>83690422
This is truly a terrible analysis. On one hand, I wish to forgive the author for trying to tie the two films together because so much of the same imagery is used, but on the other hand, that very thing is what makes it so bad. If I move my hand a lot when I talk, it doesn't mean all my utterances across time and space are linked by my hand motions.

Lynch has a lot of common themes because he's interested in certain ways of looking at events and he has his own idiosyncratic symbolism for these but the only thing that links them is that they're Lynch's idiosyncratic symbols.

I hate overanalyzers so much.

guys... the native american one is for real, at least in part. but there is a difference between dressing your film in historical context and real cultural imagery and a director whose films all use similar visual motifs signalling an intertextual narrative link between eachother. it's unnecessary reaching that only cheapens the film by trying to apply a concrete mythology to abstract and complex thematic content. it honestly makes me physically ill to think somebody wrote that article.

Broke: Diane is an FBI secretary

Joke: Diane doesn't exist

Woke: Dale Cooper suffers from schizophrenia and thinks he is recording messages for Diane when in fact it is only him. The Black Lodge is all fantasy stemming from strange dreams he had. Annie isn't real (and never won the pageant) and Cooper went rogue after the Laura Palmer murder was solved and he no longer had any purpose in Twin Peaks. Also Windom Earle never escaped from the psychiatric clinic because he never existed: Windom Earle is the evil side of Cooper.

I think at some point reality will start to fall apart. There is already a small bit of evidence for this but every time I post it in one of these threads everyone ignores it. It's a small bit of what looks like script, or at least ideas, talking about entering a film and Cole talking about dreams with Monica Bellucci.

I don't think it will have anything to do with Cooper being crazy though.

I agree. The family dinner scene with Leland teaching Norwegian definitely should have been left in, along with some of the Phillip Jeffries stuff.

I think the its pacing is really off, too. Judging by how much of The Missing Pieces relates to the show, I feel like Lynch initially envisioned a very different movie when he began shooting, and then suddenly switched gears. And it shows.

Fucking this. It's one of the reasons I'm not terribly fond of Frost's mythology bullshit; one of the things I always found most unnerving about BOB and the lodge was the fact that the rules were so vague, so arbitrary. There's no silver bullet or no-fail magical ritual that will protect you.

That and the viewer is never sure how "real" any of the Lodge stuff is. We are never sure how "in control" Leland is - we see that he's pretty fucked up even when Bob isn't possessing him. The lodge scenes can all be interpreted as dreams, too.

It's only in season 2 when we get characters explicitly entering the Lodge (bad choice desu). But for the most part, we never know how much is magic, and how much real. The fact that the characters make unreliable narrators is cool too.
