Literally nowhere does it say this, it's all just speculation from the autists here who believe that MIKE is strictly good and Cooper was acting out of self-interest by telling Laura not to take it.

All we know for sure that it does is prevent BOB from possessing Laura. Beyond that, given where it came from, how it's presented every time it shows up, and how the Arm creepily reacts to it being used, it's possible that it binds the wearer's soul to MIKE/the Arm instead of BOB, hence why Laura is still hanging around the Red Room even after she dies.

I don't know what to make of this. I like David Lynch, I like this almost stream of consciousness, drunk-writing type of thing where someone with an interesting imagination is kind of freestyling... But I don't know how long it can go on like this without just feeling like an eccentric screensaver rather than a narrative TV show.

I think what was good about Twin Peaks was the marriage between a more conventional plot, character arcs, etc, and then the dreamlike, sometimes jarring oddness. Ultimatmely I'd rather it be like this than something super conventional and safe, but I'd even more rather it be a nice blend, a more experimental imagination layered over a more solid framework.

I cant believe someone, especially Lynch can make such a boring movie in 2017. Absolutely boring, slow moving scenes in which nothing happens. The first 4 episodes could easily be fit in one! It is a parody of the real Twin peaks. It is a movie for retarded individuals. Episode 3 is an example of how to waste 1 hour of viewers time. Absolutely nothing happened. The first scene which was totally without any sense was 15!! minutes. This movie is a total joke.

Look, I get it. David Lynch's work isn't for everyone. It's peculiar and abstract and speaks to a particular type of movie goer. And it's OK, we don't all have to like the same things. Not everyone likes Tarkovski, Ingmar Berman or Bella Tarr. However, even when talking about art, that is inherently subjective, there are still ways to judge it and rate it. The 3 directors I mentioned are all unique and strange, but their work is cohesive and although abstract, gives you something to work with. Season 3 is nothing like that. It's an incomprehensible, self sufficient, insulting, patronizing claptrap. It's like someone gave David Lynch the most exotic and potent drugs, and then filmed his nightmares. It is disjointed and pointless, it's a deformed parody of the original show, it's the evil doppelganger of the first 2 seasons. I spent most of the time staring in disbelief at the screen, feeling like I was on crazy pills. Don't I get it anymore? Is this what I have been waiting for 25 years? Is David Lynch possessed by Bob? I guess we'll never know...
