Debecki is a 6'3 giantess so I pick her, cyborg-fu is the next best followed by quadroon neyney and lastly slanty eyed gookis her character a joke about how chinks are generally soulless insects?
Did thy give gunn full creative freedom?
>>82295584
Anyone with a pic of disheveled hair Debicki during the credits scene?
>>82295935
Seconding
>>82295759
Doesn't matter. He was clearly in "what do people want?" mode, intead of "what do I want to do?" mode. And now we have another installment of the horryfing concept of "filler movie in our cinematic universe. Next one will be good. Promise".
How the fuck did Gunn get so many cameos in? Mind blown a couple times.
>>82295584
My head says Mantis because I'm still thinking of her comic book counterpart despite her being completely different here
My dicki says Debicki
>>82296570
> tfw we missed out on a david bowie cameo
>>82295584
Debicki was so hot in this
>>82296816
Sheesh you're right.
Speaking of which, I noticeJeff Goldblumdancing in the credits scroll, did he even appear in the film proper?
>beginning of movie is baby groot dancing for 10 minutes
is this hell?
>>82297032
With good music, jokes and great visuals of a fight. Much better then just a plain fight.
>>82297032
The fact that they literally brought big ass speakers JUST for the music pissed me off.
>>82297071
the fight is hardly shown, all we had was some blurry/unfocused comical scenes on the background
>>82295492
You can tell Gunn likes 'Man of Steel'.
>>82297032
>complaining about baby groot
Wait till you see edgy teenage Groot
>>82297210
yeah, saw the after credits scene. I think I am just gonna torrent the next one
>>82297210
You can already see it. The whole next movie he's going to be constantly complaining, until the end where he gets to redeem himself because he got somebody killed earlier on

>>82297321
>>82297419
I did, honestly can't remember any scenes that 3d stands out. don't bother
>>82297419
Nah, you missed nothing
did anyone else find the majority of jokes n quips to be just plan unfunny?
AND HOLY SHIT AT THAT BLATANT DAIRY QUEEN PRODUCT PLACEMENT
>>82297261
Somehow that role fits Vin Diesel.
Anyway the opening dance was the only Groot scene we didn't know about from the trailers. Glad they saved up the funnier scenes.

>>82297032
it was a great scene
>>82297504
Some of them, sure, but the majority? Nah.
>Marvel hates Sony
>Gunn replaces it with aZune
Was the Zune a joke? If so it missed it's mark and just looked like straight product placement.
>>82296913
He'll be in Thor Ragnarok as an Elder of the Universe same as Del Toro
>>82297504
It's like they took all the funny off-handed things from GotG1 and did them again but 10x more.
So is the first half of Infinity War essentially going to be a side-scroller where Thanos travels through various "zones"(like an Asgard zone, a Xandar zone, a Collector's Base zone, and a Mystery zone) where we get cut-scenes revealing his backstory before he finally arrives on Earth for the last two stones?
Because we're 14 movies in and so far normies know basically fuck-all about his origins and motivations. I know it's possible to cram all that into one film, but given Disney's track record thus far, I don't see them pulling it off and making him carry more weight than any other "villain-of-the-week."
>>82297956
Yeah it was meant to be a joke as he said this is what everyone on earth is using now-a-days
>>82298014
Isn't Sam Neil and Laura Dern set to be in it as well or am i making that up
Rocket continues to be the only character worth watching it for.Does this make me a furry?
>>82297956
it's a joke because its a dead meme player that never caught on
>>82298362
He seems to be the guy doing all the work in this movie
>>82298038
Yeah I just rewatched GotG 1 and it's really not that funny of a movie.
Like, it's funny, but the jokes come at a slower pace and they're less obvious jokes with a punchline and more amusing things that actually "realistically" fit into the situation.
The difference between eavesdropping on a bunch of guys at the pub who are having a hilarious conversation about something they did once, and watching stand-up comedy, I guess.
>>82297504
>THAT BLATANT DAIRY QUEEN PRODUCT PLACEMENT
what?
>>82297956
of course it's a joke, the Zune's discontinuated and 300 songs is hardly a feature these days
>>82298410

>>82295584
Ayesha, but at the end with her hair down.
>>82297210
uh, I think we're skipping that phase, anon
their next appearance (Avengers 3) is supposed to bring them to present day, that's enough time for Groot to grow back to full size
plus GotG 3 is a good 3 years away
Are they getting their own movie?
>>82298051
I would actually love it if Thanos was the main character of Infinity War but unfortunately I'm sure he'll be a standard antagonist who's off-screen for entire acts whos motivations are summed up in one scene
>>82298051
They'll make a clumsy attempt to ramp up the stakes by making """THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE""" in danger and that will be the substitute for developing him as a villain.
>>82298444
Exactly - this is what a lot of us are talking about when we say "quips." There's organic humor and comedy, and then there's forced, occasionally funny, but almost always out-of-place quips.
The first GotG had a lot of organic humor. From what everyone's describing, Volume 2 is already experiencing the standard Disney "quippification" all MCU films have started to suffer from.
>>82298670
They could have had him kill the Vision to sort of establish that he's both a badass as well as a nihilistic monster, but from some of the leaked stills, it doesn't even appear they have the sack to do that.
>>82298544
What's the red guy's name again?

>>82298544
Wait a minute. The red lizard is a sorcerer like Strange?
>>82298822
The reason Spiderman was always top notch with his banter was that
A- he actually was a teenager so the sophomoric humor made sense
B- his generally served some kind of tactical purpose, usually goading villains to make the first move or fall into some trap
It also helps when your hero is capable of actually getting his ass kicked instead of being an obnoxious, untouchable twat with a million one liners.
>>82299248
Yeah Krugarr.
>>82298798
Sorcerer Slug
>>82295584
Ayesha
Because hot damn. The only flaw with her is that she actually has long hair.
Mantis/Drax Forever.
Nebula/Rocket just because I'm a jerk.
>>82299279
Exactly. Spidey's whole schtick is basically being the Bugs Bunny of superheroes. He'll spring around, seemingly effortlessly dodging your attacks while verbally shitposting the whole time.
It's why I love him.
Anyone know the song that's in the background when Yondu is introduced? At the whore house where he meets Stallone.
Just finished watching it, here are my thoughts
>didn't have enough momentum
>scenes dragged out for way to long
>the golden people should have only been in it at the start
>trying too hard with the jokes
>mantis was annoying
>directing was terrible at times
Everything else was pretty solid, I think they the took the best aspects of the first one and tried to emulate it. Good idea in theory, but didn't have the same impact.
>>82298544

Other ways to do that to be fair. Would've preferred the third act had them fighting Ego's anti bodies rather than vidya drones again. Drax didn't get to kick any ass this time around.
>>82299738
If Mephisto is tied to any group, it's the MCU. Mephisto is the legit lord of *an* underworld. Nightcrawler's dad is just Azazel.
Or at least that's how it was last time I read a comic.

Second half was way better than the first. Groot was annoying, Gamorra can't act and Im still wondering what happened to Batista's skin. Could've been lighter on jokes but overall it was a cut above your average marvel flick. 7/10
>>82295492
Pros
>distinct identity separate from other marvel films
>Pratt did a decent job
>Rocket being jailed on the spaceship and baby groot finding all the different items
>the massacre that followed the above
>Rocket, baby Groot and Drax
>soundtrack was awesome
>opening scene
Cons
>pacing was a nightmare
>too many plotlines, rushed, would have been much better as a miniseries
>so many of the jokes failed to land
>yandu's deathlacked emotional resonance
>without the soundtrack, would have been significantly worse
Better than most marvel shit, worse than the first film
>>82299905

It's not on the score either. There's a lot of missing stuff, like the music that plays when the Sovereign show up on the planet after. 29 vs 19 tracks in comparison with the first movie score.

"What does he know about my dad?"
"I know. I know you're sensitive about that."
"What? No I'm not. I want to know what he knows about my dad."
Probably laughed hardest at that part of the film.
All in all it wasn't bad. I expected more music, there was only a couple of songs that were played properly (not scrambled in the background). I'm getting a bit of explosion-fatigue, I think in a lot of ways the plot was weak and it didn't have the charm of the previous one. But it was fun, at least.
>>82297032
First third of the movie is pretty meh. The moment they split it up it becomes godly.
Basically, based Gunn actually outdid himself. It's this fucking crazy over-the-top clusterfuck of visuals and things happening but somehow it all just works beautifully and by the end the audience is crying.
Seriously, every time the madman kept increasing the insanity I just couldn't believe my eyes, the warp scene, the pacman scene, the fucking "Nebula turns into a living battery" scene, all that shit was crazy.
I also liked how unlike Civil War, it did the "he killed my mom" in a way that actually got you, instead of some bullshit that's there to even out and make both sides reasonable.
Either way, Gunn did it again, he made the best Marvel movie. Again.
Pretty good movie, first one was more solid overall tho
Is Stallone having his own marvel movie?

>>82301368
It shouldn't cost that much.
>>82301368
What movie ticket costs 35$? more like 15$
>>82301391
I think I'm just realising how utterly terrible he is. I didn't get the sense in this movie that he cared about any of other characters. The best he could put forward was a really weird sort of shouting/crying when Yondu died and even then it looked like he didn't give a fuck.

1: Kraglin messing about with Yondu's arrow, accidentally stabbing Drax with it
2: Stallone/Stakar reunites with other Ravager leaders
3: Ayesha unveils Adam Warlock's cocoon
4: Peter scolding rebellious teenage Groot
5: Continuation of the Stan Lee cameo
can we agree that this movie is what nu-star wars should have been right? in retorspect tfa sucks donkey dicks compared to this movie
>>82302955
He also appeared in that one song in the soundtrack and the credits scroll sayingWE ARE GROOT
>>82302751
nah that's my honest take on it. it was a mediocre and unnecessary flick.
>>82302860
how was it different from the other marvel flicks?
>>82303051
for starters main characters are dying and there are sadistic deaths being shown in full screen without the camera paning away from it
Am I the only one who thoughtYondu's deathwas underwhelming?
Normally dramatic deaths make me really emotional, but this one did nothing for me
>>82303103
the funeral got me good, when all the ships and the crews crying
>>82303051
>how was it different from the other marvel flicks?
1. Stand alone story
2. Jack Kirby aesthetics
3. Character-driven instead of plot-driven
I'm not saying that it's perfect or anything but it's a step in the right direction for Marvel whom I'm sure have realized that their latest movies have been getting stale and repetitive.

Hint:He was
>>82303443
Nah.
He had no development.
Main characters = characters who change.
Rocket changed. Yondu didn't. Rocket and Quill were the main characters of that plotline, and Yondu the supporting character.
It's in the name.
Yondu "supports" their story. He is the character that enables their epiphanies and growth.
Supporting characters are not less important or "subservient" to main characters. The story just isn't about them.

I fucking hate that meme. The reason I space my posts the way that I do is because I write in a very small textbox and without the additional use of the enter key you can't see in the textbox that the next sentence ends up on a new line.

He literally had no fucking development you fucking retards.
In what way did he change, at all, from the start of the movie to the end of the movie? Not "how did his material circumstances change" but how did he, as a person, change? What epiphany did he have?
It's certainly not that he became softer, because his pre-existing softness was what caused his entire fucking conflict. It's definitely not that he embraced his role as Quill's surrogate father, because the entire movie is about Quill realising he's always been that.
So HOW THE FUCK DID HE CHANGE?
>>82303639
>actually being autistic
Why the fuck do you care if and or a sentence ends up on a new line?

I guess this doesn't count because of reasons you're going to make up, though.
>>82303703
>Why the fuck do you care if and or a sentence ends up on a new line?
Because grammar and formatting are not just politeness, they are how to draw the reader's attention to meaning.
Those sentences are all on new lines because I want them all separated as separate ideas instead of being in one paragraph, read as a sequence of declarative statements instead of evidence tied into one central point.
>>82303703
>That still doesn't explain why you leave an entire empty line between lines.
Because as pic related fucking shows I can't see the linebreaks in the posting box without putting an empty line in to make them obvious you fucking retard.

>>82303742
>He stopped clinging to his past as a Ravager and started fully supporting Peter.
So you mean when he chose not to kill Peter in tGotG 1, which was what precipitated the fucking mutiny, he was choosing the Ravagers over Peter and not fully supporting Peter?
Yondu's character has ALWAYS been as being torn between the Ravagers and Peter, and choosing Peter over the Ravagers. That's what causes his entire conflict in the movie. My point is that what you call his development is not development, it is the realisation of his character. It does not emerge over the movie, it is the cause of everything that happens to him in the movie. Thus, it's not development. How can it be, if it's there at the start?
It doesn't count because it's not fucking development.
>>82303807

He'd always gone out of his way to protect Peter, that's nothing new.
Old mentor sacrifices himself for protag and finds redemption through heroic death is one of the oldest tropes out there. Old mentor is also a typical supporting character.

It's development.

Not him, but I do the same thing. I like a smaller textbox to more easily refer back to posts I'm replying to.
Also, I do line breaks to indicate a new subject/line of thought whenever possible. Wall-o-texts do nothing at all for me, and I assume the same of other people, and to me, "reddit spacing" is the stupidest evasion/criticism I've seen habitually used on this board. Most of the people making it are just outing themselves, as how would you know "reddit spacing" if one wasn't a regular visitor of the site?
>>82303957
>And yet he was still clinging to the Ravagers in Vol 2 and even tried to BEG Stakar to take him back.
Tell me again what kind of funeral he got at the end of the movie, anon.
The whole point of that scene was that he was allowed to become a Ravager again in the end, even if posthumously. He never let go of the Ravagers.

>>82303957
He did not because the people he killed weren't really Ravagers, they become just mercenaries and thugs. Remember the reason Yondu and his crew was kicked out was not because he was soft on Peter. It was because he was doing Ego's bidding and bringing children for Ego to kill(without Yondu's knowledge btw).
>>82304058
>Yondu clinging to be one of them still
Where exactly does Yondu "renounce" his Ravagerness anyway? He certainly doesn't leave willingly.
>I guess I fucking missed the part where Yondu called Stakar and asked him to hold a Ravager funeral for him.
What is symbolism for $500.
Do you think Kraglin would have called up the other Ravagers if 5 minutes before biting it Yondu was saying "fuck those guys anyway I renounce it all, let's go slave some kids!!!" Kraglin wanted to give Yondu the funeral he knew Yondu would have wanted, and that he thought Yondu deserved. A Ravager funeral.
Because Yondu always considered himself a Ravager.
>>82304063
>Takes two to tango you fucking idiot.

now that we have living planets as cannon when are we going to introduce Denny, the living street?

I'd be unironically interested in a story about a living street.
Maybe some comfy art piece about how the character of the street changes over the generations that live there. The spirit of the street is like a benevolent protector, and it's about one particular family's struggles over the ages.
Throw in some tragedy.

>>82307337
I thought that was now a government honeypot
>>82307230
Go to the pirate bay.
Type in Guardians into search.
Sort in descending order by "seeds".
A seed is a computer that has the file you want.
A leech is a computer downloading the file.
Anyway, you need a torrent client. I use BitTorrent because I'm a pleb.
Pick your torrent. More seeds is usually better. Look for trusted uploaders. Read the comments. If there's anything REALLY wrong with it, it's usually mentioned there. Note that torrents do give false positives though. If it's "NORTON SAYS VIRUS" that's probably a retard. If it's "this bricked my computer and sent my wife's son's birthday to the Kremlin" that's probably not a retard.
Either download the torrent file and then open it with BitTorrent to start your torrent, or click the magnet link to start the torrent without downloading the torrent file.
When you are "torrenting" you are leeching from all the computers that are seeding. The torrent file is not the file you want, it is the file that tells you which computers to download from to get the file you want, and that's what BitTorrent uses to download your file. The magnet link is the same thing, but it means you don't have to download a separate torrent file.
Happy hunting, and welcome to the 21st century.
