A boy falls in love with a girl.

After so many strong peaks where they could have left it they kept trailing it on until they left it with everything 100% settled and all tension spent. You're supposed to accelerate into an ending if you want a sickeningly happy ending to not feel limp and weak. Also there needed to be a clearer link between suffering and the eventual good times. The long break between the resolution of the crazy disaster shit and the meeting just took the steam out of the narrative at the last minute.
