Mate you don't have to be a RTD apologist to see potential in a Simm return, his character could basically be launched in any direction and Simm already expressed interest in a darker take. Plus we've already seen the jump in quality that occurs when Moffat takes over writing RTD's revival of a classic villain (compare Davros' dialogue in Journey's End to TMA/TWF).
