No. I got interested in the show because I weighed nearly 500 pounds last summer and was considering getting surgery.

I started doing research into it. I went to some gastric bypass information seminars and compared the different procedures. One of the reasons I watched my 600 pound life is that GP success stories love to talk about it but the failures don't like to discuss it.

Now I'm down to 340 after 9 months. I keep a daily journal of my eating, and try to stick to about 1200 to 1500 per day.

My 600 pound life helped me a lot because it let me see how there is no miracle cure for being fat and made me more familiar with how one loses weight. There's a lot of bad or ineffective advice out there.
