I just finished watching this. Is this kino? Sure felt like it, the Fish Out of Water episode was god-tier
Any thoughts on Bojack Horseman?
>>>/out/
yeah I thought the ending was great. All the shirtless anthropomorphic horses running was such a weird but interesting image. There was some stuff about season 3 I really didn't like, like everything with abbi jacobson's character, but overall I really enjoyed it
its a jerk off for people with a vague and undefined sense of dissatisfaction with their lives who think that feeling is clinical depression

What was wrong with her character? As a plot device to explore a bit of Todd´s past I think she worked out just fine.

what´s so "reddit" about this show? I don´t get it.
>>80588031
Anything they don't like it reddit. Basically they're idiots.
>>80588104
No, because its bland emotional literacy porn who think saying "Am I a good person" over and over again while trying to induce tears is being deep
If you have to ask if you're a good person, you're probably not. Good people question themselves and don't get arrogant about "Yeah of course I'm a great person", but they just question if they're doing the best they can, they don't entertain that they're actually bad people.
>>80588183
Except the show calls out people who do stupid shit then expect sympathy because they're 'aware' of their bad decisions
>>80588408
Does that change what I said? Its still watched by people who think this kind of thing is deep because they havent ever been exposed to anything beyond shitty videogames and other epic Reddit cartoons
The fact that your answer had no correspondence to anything I said basically proves that people who like Bojack are fucking stupid

You browse Reddit, don't you?
>Show for "ha ha I'm such a mess" people
It's not terrible, but none of the ideas it explores are profound or thought-provoking enough for the entire show to be built around them.
I'd rather have it focus on the comedy first not take itself so seriously and leave the drama to two or three episodes in a season.
>>80588572
Why is the show bad because of the people that you think watch it?
>>80588781
I just explained why its a bad show, because its bland emotional literacy porn, complete with a couple of easily repeatable "funny" quotes and quips as opposed to actually being witty and funny
Third season has started showing some signs of their formulaic approach, I wonder if they'll be able to mix it up for S4 or will the situation only get worse.
>>80589369
No, your explanation for why the show is bad is "I don't like it because people watch it who think or do X."
If your basis for judging a piece of media's quality has more to do with your nebulous idea of what its audience is like rather than the thing itself then you should seriously kill yourself.
This is reddit...this is memes...

It is a great show, much so, very-kino. People who will lie and say the show is about selfishness, and disregard it as if they are saints and should be anointed next to Jesus de Yahweh.
>>80587623
Pretty good when it isn't an episode about Alison Brie's awful, unlikeable character whining about some nonsense feminist issue
>>80591436
WHAT? those episodes are great, she's always shown to be a fucking unbelievable hypocrite in all those episodes. She is by far the worst character on the show (as a person) and It genuinely pisses me off how she is with the nicest character in the show and is just going to end up hurting him.
>>80588031
muhhhh pseudo depressed nihilist remarks
>>80591730
she's shown to be a hypocrite in the same way Bojack is so you're still supposed to like her and root for her and want her to achieve her dreams which is hard when her dreams are shit and she's an awful person
>>80591857
something only seems to be "pseudo" if reddit like it
>>80587623
Waiting to see where they go with the illegitimate child thing.
They went on a total different road for S3 than I was expecting, caught me off guard.
>>80591872
I'm not going to pretend to know exactly the thoughts of the creators but I'm not necessarily sure that that's completely fair. She isn't shown to be a hypocrite in the same way Bojack is because she never admits to being one. Bojack knows full well he is one but doesn't pretend to be a morally virtuous person. The fact that Diane can contemplate and take a job writing shit about her husband who literally pays for everything for her and loves her unconditionally and still think she is morally correct is not like Bojack at all.
