A rating system is meant to give people an idea of the quality of something from a representative sample of viewers, keyword being representative. The average person who opens Netflix doesn't give a shit what the "obese neckbeard who posts on /pol/ and has a collection of my little pony dolls" thinks of what they're going to watch.
