What are some movies that use the on-set gun sounds in the final film?
>that mag change
such a good movie

I think we can all agree that Heat is the kinoest Kino.
>>80508789
we can indeed anon. we can indeed.
>>80508738
>>80508789
>>80509571
Heat just meanders way too much. It spends too much time on shit that amounts to nothing, like the Allstate guy, Kilmer's relationship shit, Pacino's everything. And Pacino is fucking awful in Heat. Truly a horrific performance.
If Mann cut 45 minutes out of the movie and got a less retarded performance out of Pacino, Heat would be one of the top 5 crime dramas of all time.
>>80508738
>>80508789
Just the 3 action scenes.
>armored car
>drive-in
>bank
Rest was garb
Does anyone in Hollywood do gun sfx like Mann does?

You're more than entitled to your opinion but I gotta disagree. If you didn't have those slow plodding moments, the action would have fallen flat. Movies today don't know how to slow the fuck down for a few minutes. Let you absorb the characters. Heat gives you insight into both their characters. You see that they are so much more alike than different and, in another life, could have been friends.
>>80509571
though that scene was a bit of a wankfest
>>80509944
this. they basically listed everything in the plot besides the action scenes as being unnecessary.
>>80509989
the scenes not perfect but it was needed
>>80510195
Exactly. The whole shootout at the runway would have been meaningless if they hadn't have just sat down and talked like 2 normal people.
>>80510270
the ending with that moby track...
>>80509944
>those slow plodding moments
are always bad. The action scenes weren't so effective because they came after excessively boring and pointless scenes, they were so effective because they were expertly filmed. There is a lot of time in the movie spent on shit that has zero payoff and zero relevance to the plot. Everything with the Allstate Insurance guy is filler that amounts to nothing. Everything with Kilmer's wife is filler that amounts to nothing. Everything with Pacino's wife's lover is filler that amounts to nothing but a horribly acted scene.
The stuff with Deniro and his young girlfriend is great. The stuff with the psycho from Deniro's crew is great. The stuff with Natalie Portman is great. None of that stuff was boring and superfluous.
>>80510332
Nigga, you best not be talking shit about moby.
>>80510332
The ending also needed to be changed. They should have shot each other and both died.
>>80510367
i was praising it dw.
>>80509763
>implying Awful Pacino isn't Best Pacino
>>80510336
Honestly this, iike heat, the action scenes are amazing but other than that it feels very empty, like when sizemore died I couldn't give a shit, his character wasn't developed enough to care.
>>80510399
Good. Just making sure.
For your trouble

This movie is so great, I hate myself for taking so long to watch it. It's gun porn on a John Wick / Collateral level, plus the interplay between Pacino and De Niro. Shit, I'm gonna watch it again.
>>80510724
It's the sort of movie I need to watch every year or so. It's so dense that I get something new out of it every time.
>>80510724
dont tempt me anon ive been listening to Moby GMOTFOTW for a while now.
>>80509763
agree with Pacino but I like the quiet parts
Why are so many people sucking this movie's dick? It had a good 20 minute intro. The rest is terrible.
>>80510864
Was a comfy thread. now on your way pleb.
>>80510814
This isn't temptation, it's providence. Do it faggot.
>>80510864
>the bank shootout is terrible
You're fucking retarded.
>>80509763
I do agree with this. I did not want to see Paccino's loathsome wife or stunted daughter, their terrible home decor, the Val Kilmer personal shit etc.
But I guess they include that kind of stuff to sell tickets to women who would otherwise not bother showing up.
>>80510455
Really? Sizemore's character was the only one that I found interesting, probably because it didn't explore his life.
>>80509895
forgot about this movie. pretty good and the sfx sound legit.
it's a movie where nothing happened until some very nice gunplay and a guy chases another guy until after 15 minutes of hide-and-seek the movie ends.
>>80509763
This, it has so much superfluous detail that amounts to nothing and doesn't really add any depth.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQNBg6I29gI
>that rigor mortis at 6:13
Gets me every time. Such attention to detail.
>>80513289
thats not rigor mortis
The International has a great shootout at a museum, guns sound great but i think is more because of the acoustic that the museum gives than on-set gun shots
>>80513455
Boxer stance, then?
>>80513508
possibly.
all i know is rigor mortis doesn't set in until a bit after death occurs.
Heat is kino,
>>80509763
Heat Pacino is BEST Pacino
>>80513031
>le oversimplification meme
What a constructive argument, I'm sure you're a highly intellectual individual yourself
