Moffat makes RTD look like a fucking genius.

I NEVER liked DW until I saw his version and it felt like classic Star Trek with bold colors, romance and scariness. Moffat wrote Blink and Girl in the Fireplace, which are masterpiece's, but he's has ran the show into the fucking ground by thinking that he's Douglas Adams while trying to remake old versions of the show with either an ugly gimp like Matt Smith (the modern iteration of that disgusting fucking creep Tom Baker) or making him into an old man with Capaldi who is meant to be Moffat's version of Jon Pertwee .

I still say they really fucked up by not making a series of big budget Doctor Who movies after with Tennant after series 4. Give him a new companion and do some crazy Sci-fi/Fantasy shit and people would have ate it up. Just don't use the fucking Cybermen/Daleks/Master/Davros fer fuck sakes.

But noooooooo, let's do a new series with some Rocky Dennis looking motherfucker and flush it into the shitter. Cocksuckers.

>Yeah it is really funny how instead of trashing the boring old lore, they just alluded to it in such a way that it seemed way more interesting than it actually was.
Ithink that was an intentional decision by RTD, not just something that happened. And they also inserted new deep lore by just referencing it the same way as the old lore. Look at all the S1 references to the Time War, for example.

Even in the novels, nobody but Platt, Parkin, and Miles could pull off deep infodumps or lengthy flashbacks to Olde Tyme Gallifrey without it getting boring or stupid, and it would be much harder in a 45-minute action TV episode. But anyone can write a line that implies something cool just by thinking up the cool name, and it works almost as well to make the world seem more real and more exciting.
>>
Are Movellans all the rage of 2017?
>>
>>80419371
And you probably think Salamander was played by the same actor as the Second Doctor, even though they have totally different accents.

That girl is not dripping wet or wearing emo makeup, and there's no Dalek eye poking out of her anywhere, so the other anon is obviously right that it can't be her.

>It's the same thing when people want Omega to be behind everything. Why? He's a terrible villain
He seems like someone who _should_ be a cool villain, who just got crap stories.

And Lance Parkin and Nev Fountain actually proved that he can be cool.

But if they bring him back on TV (or in a K9-without-the-Doctor movie before they think we forgot that Time Trap kiddie novel), he's probably going to be shit again.

And it's easier to invent a new cool villain than to rehabilitate one who sucked last time. The only advantage of an old crap villain is the fanboy continuity-porn hype.

Don't make fun of Matt. He is the proud owner of a replica of a tie that the Tenth Doctor never wore on camera but it's still canon. Can you say the same?

>Now i'm going to be clear here. This tie was never seen on screen, simply because tries with a more attractive design took its place. However, David Tennant did wear it on at least one occasion visiting children's hospital's in full Tenth Doctor gear. People have done and still do debate that this isnt the case and that in fact, he wore the Massimo Dutti tie from Series 4. The likes of Michael Davis would force this down your throat until you believed it. I can assure you, that's not the case and it was the Rocha tie.

was there actually ever any public complaints about the homosex?
I don't recall ever seeing any. My guess would be that since the show was so poorly advertised/distributed that nobody who would complain about such a scene actually watched the show

Do you think americans are more or less likely to have people that complain about gay sex in class or will it still go unnoticed because nobody watches it?
>>
>>80426019
>Now theres an idea for the next BBC lineup. "Film Pickers" They go from film collector to film collector's house looking for missing movies/tv. If they find something, they pay a token amount from the shows' budget. Everyone loves the idea of being on tv and that could motivate someone to give something up.Also, it would give more info to the general public of what missing episodes are.

Starz got 0 complaints about the gay sex in Miracle Day, BBC got thousands.

However, almost all of those were sent in by an organized campaign that wasn't demanding less gay Jack sex, they were demanding more straight Jack sex to balance it out, and not at all because they wanted to see more of Esther's bits, but because…um… good role model for bisexuals, that's the ticket.

You can't see the details anymore, but CzechOut insisted that if Attack of the Graske was canon enough to get a page, all of the characters need pages, including The Viewer. So someone created one.

Sadly, not all of the admins are quite as autistic, so they came up with a solution that would allow Attack of the Graske without The Viewer, so they deleted all of us at home.

They were in the Sarah Jane Adventures. There were some blue ones as well, called the Groske I think? I like how there used to be so many mini episodes, like Attack of the Graske which you could watch by pressing the red button on the TV remote. People binging Doctor Who on Netflix miss out that experience.. watching an episode of series 2 when I didn't care about its quality, then switching over to Doctor Who Confidential, discussing the episodes with school friends on Monday then later on in the week watching Totally Doctor Who to see the exclusive clip of the next story. Watching The Sarah Jane Adventures and getting so hyped for The Stolen Earth when the spin-offs crossed over, and no-one had any issue following it because all of the viewers were aware of the Who spin-offs.. How do I go back? I want to feel that excitement again :(

Didn't like it as much when they changed it for series 4 though. I was always playing that Dalek game and downloading wallpapers. I'd pretty much exclusively read Doctor Who books too, even the quickreads ones.

I saw the Doctor at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like bags of crisps in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bags and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any jiggery pokery,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

>>
>>80430066
Before the 50th, I think the general consensus was that the Doctor destroyed Gallifrey but was injured in the process and regenerated into 9. Never considered that he might have regenerated during the war.

>>
>>80430170

>"that'll never work - he's gay and she's a paving slab"
>>
>>80430276
As long as the comics didn't show 9 with any companions other than Rose, he said it didn't matter when the regeneration happened, so they could show whatever they wanted.

There was also a public interview where they asked RTD whether 8 intentionally regenerated into 9 so he didn't have to face the war, regenerated into 9 mid-war, intentionally regenerated into 9 to make him be the one who blows up Gallifrey, or regenerated blowing up Gallifrey, and all he'd say was something like, "Yeah, probably one of those."

The comics decided not to do the regeneration because if 8 dies but they can't use 9 without Rose, the comics are pretty much over (or become past Doctor stories).

at the end of "The Flood", the last Eighth Doctor story in DWM. (classic, too. my favorite Cyberman story.) then he proceeded to more or less steal the ending of the story for "The Parting of the Ways". appropriated some of the imagery in it for the Series 2 finale, too.
>>
>>80430451
The IDW comics pretty much confirmed that 8 regenerated into 9 by blowing up Gallifrey, or immediately afterward.

We see 8 planning to build the Moment while the Time War is going on elsewhere in time, 10 telling Martha that 8 ended his life alone because of the sacrifice of Gallifrey, and later that "nobody survived, not even me… or so I thought", and so on.

Kinda hard to fit War into that timeline.

The Forgotten is the one that shows him planning to build "something" using the De-Mat Gun plans and the Great Key. (Which in itself is not a 100% reliable scene.)

Don't Step on the Grass tells us that the Doctor built the Moment with the De-Mat plans and activated it with the Great Key, and that it's what destroyed Gallifrey and time-locked the War.

I think it was Forgotten again where 10 says that 8 died alone because of the sacrifice of Gallifrey.

And one of the ones where Martha returns—maybe Grass again—is where he says nobody survived.

Together, that pretty much establishes that anyone but 8 used the Moment to destroy Gallifrey, and that he died right after, and that it's definitely the LGTW and not the Second War in Heaven.
>>
>>80431644
>Kinda hard to fit War into that timeline.
It just changed later.

Big Bang 2 is as good a retcon switch as the Time War itself. The Doctor never told any of that to anyone but Martha and "Martha" (actually the TARDIS) nowhere near Earth, so why shouldn't the new universe built from Amy's memories and a bit of Earth air have a slightly different Last Great Time War?

Yeah, either one of those works. But really, there are much bigger continuity problems in the classic series without any time wars or universe reboots at all.

>There are things, Amy, everyone’s memory is a mess. Life is a mess. Everyone’s got memories of a holiday they’ve couldn’t have been on, a party they never went to, or met someone for the first time and felt like they’ve known them all their lives. Time is being rewritten all around us every day. People think their memories are bad, but their memories are fine. The past is really like that.

That's why I remember the classic DW special effects being pretty good when I watched them as a little kid. My memory is fine, it's history that's not consistent.

Either I don't understand this post, or it's time-traveled about a decade from the time emoji first became a thing outside of Japan and SoftBank were trying to copyright them and people were angry because emojis are so cool that they just have to be free man.

Zagreus sits inside your head,
Zagreus lives among the dead,
Zagreus sees you in your bed,
And eats you when you're sleeping.

Zagreus at the end of days,
Zagreus lies all other ways,
Zagreus comes when time's a maze,
And all of history is weeping.

Zagreus taking time apart,
Zagreus fears the hero heart,
Zagreus seeks the final part,
The reward that he is reaping.

Zagreus sings when all is lost,
Zagreus takes all those he's crossed,
Zagreus wins and all it cost,
The hero's hearts he's keeping.

Zagreus seeks the hero's ship,
Zagreus needs the web to rip,
Zagreus sups time at a drip,
And life aside, he's sweeping.

Zagreus waits at the end of the world,
For Zagreus is the end of the world.

His time is the end of time,
And his moment time's undoing.

Zagreus lies upon your bed
Zagreus says he'll give you head
Zagreus fucks you till you're red
And fucks off while you're sleeping

Zagreus always goes both ways
Zagreus takes both straights and gays
Zagreus comes and sprays and sprays
And afterwards you're weeping

Why did Louise Jameson think Destination Nerva was the best of all the scripts on her schedule in 2012?

Am I remembering wrong, or was it the worst by far of a not-even-that-great season of audios?
>>
>>80439466
Probably because of sentimental value, like "Yeah, I finally get to work with Tom again after all these years!"
>>
>>80440072
Listening to the interview that came with Destination Nerva, she'd just rewatched Weng-Chiang to prepare for the 4DAs, and she was excited to do a story that started seconds after that ended. Which makes sense.

But yeah, your explanation is probably part of it too.

What happened to those Blue Peter clips of the behind the scenes of the Cybermen 2 part from Series 2? It featured Andrew Hayden-Smith and that blue peter host that got to be a Cyberman. I remember he said "exterminate, oh wait thats a Dalek"

>two different lengths in Flatline
I thought it was because it was getting really cold in the TARDIS. You know. The shrinkage.
>>
>>80441323
I can't find the video. Weird. I can find videos for every other random Doctor Who segments on Blue Peter that I can think to search for, from the War Machines promo to the last kids-write-an-episode thing, but not this one.

But you didn't imagine it, it definitely happened:

>>80441595
Yeah it's like the video just doesn't exist anymore.
I remember Andrew Hayden-Smith knew how to say "Doctor Who" in another language, and for years I have wanted to know what it was. Oh well.
>>
>>80441959
A quick google translate, and it was Welsh. I still remember how he pronounced it.
>>
>>80442027
So, how do you say Doctor Who in Welsh?

(Since none of us will ever hear Andrew say it because it's been erased from time…)
>>
>>80442131
from memory it sounded like "doctor poi"

Ah, I found an article from BBC Wales Welsh programming where they speculate on whether there's a Welsh actor who could play the 13th "Doctor Pwy".

http://www.bbc.com/cymrufyw/38809726

According to Google Translate, Charlotte Church would be a great Doctor because "Would sing tunefully is sure to enchant villain!"

Also, apparently in Welsh, there are different words for "physician" ("meddyg") and "guy with a doctorate" ("doctor"), and they went with the latter. Which would kind of ruin all the scenes where someone expects him to be a medical doctor, or does the "no, I'm this patient's doctor" thing, etc., if they subtitled/dubbed it in Welsh. Probably a problem in a lot of languages they actually do subtitle or dub it in?

Donald Trump is the kind of guy who decides to try and make a deal with the Daleks.

He's Tobias Vaugh and Mavik Chen in one, is what I'm saying.
>>
>>80442400
According to that featurette on the DVD, he became Controller of the BBC. Can you do that and be President of the US at the same time? Even if it's not against the US Constitution, surely it's against the BBC's Royal Charter, which is far more important. I don't want my licence fees going to someone who's going to tweet about Fox instead of BBC.
>>
>>80442486
No, he is the guy who sinks all the money into space wall which fails to stop Daleks.
>>
>>80442540
>We're going to build a Time Destructor, it's going to be beautiful, the biggest Time Destructor you've ever seen, just the biggest. And we're going to make the Daleks pay for it. You'll see, they're going to pay for it.
>>
>>80442428
I imagine dubbing would be an issue in most languages.
>Charlotte Church would be a great Doctor
because "Would sing tunefully is sure to enchant villain!"
No idea what this is even supposed to mean.
>>
>>80442689
I _think_ it's supposed to mean that she'd sing Venusian lullabies at monsters like Three did, and it would work even better because she's a good singer?

When will they bring back Derek Newark (Greg Sutton) in CGI form? I am guessing in 2020 for the Inferno 50th Anniversary, so I imagine they will be starting work on it soonish.

The welsh are crazy. Idk about you but I would take Jon's voice over hers any day
>>
>>80442829
I find most of her music offensively bad, but she does have a good voice, if she ever used it for something decent.

And wouldn't hearing her sing Venusian lullabies be a few million times better than hearing her try to mix classical music with 80s pop without actually understanding either of them?

Greg Sutton is no leader.

Also, that Greg Sutton exploded with his planet; the only one left is the one from the original universe, who dresses like an Australian stereotype.
>>
>>80442802
From what I remember in the VNAs, Greg eventually becomes Ian's best friend, and he and Petra are the godparents of Ian and Barbara's son Johnny Chess.
>>
>>80443028
Sorry for the inaccuracy. I can assure you it won't happen in future.
>>

I don't remember that, but I wouldn't be surprised. By the end of the VNAs, just about everyone who ever appeared in the show is connected to Johnny Chess somehow. Paul Cornell was the inventor of the forced meme.

Your photoshop is fan content. If Big Finish is non-canon and thus fan content, they are equally valid. Therefore, your post is only as valid as Big Finish.

If you insist Big Finish aren't valid, you insist your own complaint isn't valid.

There are multiple canons, each created by linking stories together that reference each other
Canon bubbles are the most logical all-encompassing form of canon
