Back to this. Why is it Daredevil is the only one with good fight scenes so far? Luke Cage and Jessica Jones both had really shit Fight Scenes. Jessica had the vest villain, Luke had the best music, and made better use of his super strength than Jessica - but Dare Devil's fight scenes are over the top. THe fight down the stair well? Dear fucking god. Why isn't that choreographer doing all the shows? Fucking awesome.

It looks just fine. I still don't see what you guys think is so bad. They have long takes of it, for the most part, with the quick cuts in small burst fires. The actual choreography isn't daredevil level, but it's two steps up from Jessica Jones and Luke Cage's fight scenes. It's a middle ground. Not the end of the world like you people are making out.

Now, on the other hand, no, it's not perfect, you can see a few hits where they obviously don't hit. Now, obviously, they never really (outside of mistakes they leave in) hit the actors/stunt doubles. What I mean is there are a few hits you can see, they don't connect. That's an issue. One they should have caught in editing.

There are a few other small issues, but nothing massive.

Again. Better than Jessica Jones and Luke Cage fight scenes, worse than the two famously great Daredevil fight scenes.

I suppose the difference one could bring up is that Luke Cage and Jessica Jones didn't really try, in the first place, so obviously that's a low bar, but I maintain that the scene we've seen from Iron Fist is two steps above Jessica Jones and Luke Cage fight scenes.

If you don't like that stuff, cool, but, why even bother to watch/read super hero stuff at all at that point? DC isn't any better about it, Green Lantern gets his powers from a ring, Super Man is an alien that gets super powers from our sun, the flash got injected with the Flash Force and Wonder Woman is a super human in the first place with magical artifacts.

Like Iron Fist, all these people have some sort of "power" that makes them exceptional. Then on top of that they all have varying levels of training, which the Iron Fist has. Super Powers and Martial Arts training. Don't like it? More power to you. Plenty of cool stuff out there for you to watch instead.

I'd say they were more a 3/10 (Jessica) and 4/10 (Luke) respectively, with DD being more of a 7/10 as I liked them, but I've seen much better elsewhere.. Speaking purely of the fight scenes, and no other content. This is 5 out 10 for me. About average. Harmless. Hence, two steps above, being I'm considering Jessica a 3.

Now, again, Jessica easily has the best villain of anything in the MCU. Luke had some of the best uses of his super powers, just not in fights, just, best in terms of actually making use of the fact he was super powered rather than the writers feeling limited by it, and needing to forget he was super powered every five seconds so the plot could continue. They made good use of that.

And, obviously. DD remains the top for its pillar s1 and s2 (stairwell) fight scenes in the MCU so far.

I outlined earlier what I saw in that. A coupel punches that were badly edited leaving it obvious they didn't really connect. Obviously they don't actually connect, but in editing that needed fixed. Outside of that I only see a few small issues. Nothing major.

I read an anon's issues with it above, but most of it was just armchair level critique and bitching. I'm more concerned about the Iron Fist's fight scenes, overall, rather than the side character, but I'm not dismissing the flaws here, I just don't see these few misteps as major, and find the points at larger issues to be largely exaggeration and other people parroting it.

The biggest issue is the choreography, and I did mention that whoever is responsible for the DD s1 and s2 pillar scenes needed to be in on this, or, someone even better. I'm not calling these the best thing I've ever scene. This is average TV tier stuff, not above or below, average. This is buffy fight scenes. Average TV fighting schlock. Yes, you can make the argument that it needs to be better than that, and I'd agree, I'm not disagreeing with that, I'm disagreeing with people making out that this is the worst thing ever and all that nonsense.

Which is actually a legit move. Punching someones dome, especially with an unprotected fist, can easily break your hand and is at best very unpleasant. It's like punching a brick wall. So if you can time a lazy jab with a headbutt, it'll suck for the guy punching.

But the scene is filmed so amateurish that it's hard to read. The whole thing looks like somebody filmed a rehearsal where they go over the moves at three quarters the normal speed.
