Then again they all die at the end so maybe it's not really a flaw at all.

Episode IV is the only one that works as its own story as a movie.

Episode V is goat but as its own movie sucked and at the time received mixed reviews because it wrap up any story.

Episode VI wrapped up the overall story nicely but still sucked as a movie by itself. It was rushed and had two movies essentially combined into one.

It's better than TFA purely by virtue of being at least a somewhat original story.

I don't really consider TFA a "movie". It's more of an apology. All Disney wanted to do was prove they weren't hack frauds like Lucas and they knew how to make a competent Star Wars motion picture. Anything more than that, however, and TFA is useless.
