Edmure's fuck up made way more sense in the show for this reason. The Mountain is the type that would rush headlong into the enemy like Tywin was apparently about to before being stopped by Edmure. In fairness, he's described as a talented commander during the War of the Ninepenny Kings, and seems exceptional during the war against House Reyne. Jon has already seen men rise from the dead, so from his perspective, Mel's fire magic is just another kind of magic.

Jon regards the old gods in respect to his family and tradition. But other than keeping up appearances, he's pretty much agnostic. No amount of miracle work will convert him. And in fact, his experience in death might turn him into an atheist, as he would have seen nothing on the other side. The fact that Jon can't be seduced by the fire, is going to cause Mel a lot of frustration.

My hope is that Jon comes back wrong. Since it's implied he warged into Ghost at death, his mind is not able to be restored to his body. As a result, some sort of Otherthing fills the void. Jon then becomes a sort of villain who abandons the Night's Watch to claim his position as King in the North. He rallies the Wildings and the Queen's Men to his banner and marches south. There are no Jon chapters during this period. Instead, we see events via Melisandre. The occasional Ghost chapter hints that Jon is still around and can eventually be restored.

It makes me mad that, in the show, Jon just comes back to life no trouble. There's literally no cost to him.

Robb doesn't legitimize Jon. He just names him heir. He doesn't push Sansa behind in line, he push her off it. Because he doesn't want to give WF to a lannister whore.

Either way it's a big drama out of nowhere (talking not just about sansafags, but also about Catelyn who freaks out about it)... Because it's 100% irrelevant.

If Robb wins the war and they get Sansa back, he can change his will anyway and name her heir after all.

And if Robb loses the war, no one gives a fuck who he named heir. The Lannister takes the castle anyway and give it to whoever they want (The Bolton).

And Jon is at the wall. Robb could offer them a bunch of men in "exchange" for freeing Jon of his vows, but again this implies Robb won the war and is still alive. So why does he need a non-son heir?


Really the ONLY way this will means shit is if all these conditions applies
1) Robb wins the war
2) Robb is dead (so the war was won by the remains of his army)
3) Sansa is alive and free.
4) Jon wants to leave the NW fully knowning he's "stealing" the castle from Sansa.
5) The NW is fine with letting Jon go.

It's a long fucking shot.
Anything else, the will is irrelevant.
