How popular is Berserk, really? I've heard people say it's like the LOTR of Japan, but the 1997 anime aside, why hasn't there been a big budget kino? The three films were of pretty inconsistent quality, and the 2016 release is just god-awful to the point where not even the most diehard fans can try to pretend they like it.
