But I'm not judging it just by the basic trope,, but specifics and less generalized things.

Everything may be within the trope but within that trope the specifics of how they're done are very similar between Jon and Aragorn.

If you just went by trope and cliches, tons and tons are things are the same or similar, but when you look at things closer and at HOW they're done, you see more differences and what stories are truly more similar.

One of the biggest sins the show does. Is that they take a charecter and make them either better or worse than they are in the book.

Like Stannis. They are "blackwashing" him and adding bad atributes while removing some good from him.
And we here at /got/ compensate for that by making Stannis the living champion of all litteratur.

The other way around (whitewashing) is dany or Tyrion. While They are not as retarded as we make them out to be here in these threads
