Most accurate answer so far.
>>78901934
Unironically Spielberg
Used his medium to create art that was beloved by the mainstream, whilst still retaining strong artistic credibility

>>78903350
Kanye's samples are different though. They're not always old jazz hits or other hip hop tracks, he's done psychedelic rock and daft punk.
>>78903565
wrong like i said its a normal part of the style nothing wrong or shameful about it
>>78903635
Wu-Tang
>>78903624
and his lack of talent has nothing to do with what samples he uses
>>78903656
Not talking about his talent there, just saying he samples a lot of shit. Tarantino is a good comparison as his filmography is pretty diverse.
>>78903653
rza samples from a shit ton of songs
its a part of the style of music though
>>78901934
Mel Gibson
>>78903299
>He literally sampling other movies.
What did he mean by this?
>>78903547
>>78903613
>willfully exposing yourself as an ignorant moron
Have you ever played a musical instrument of any kind? Or tried to produce anything?

David O. Russell is the only correct answer.

Everyone in this thread is wrong. The correct answer is James Cameron.
It's obviously Kubrick. Not saying Kanye is the Kubrick of music, but their works are similar in terms of style and semiotics.
>there will never be a reality tv show that follows Kanye around
>there will never be a sitcom that is that exact premise in everything but name
why
or paul no talent anderson
Sydney = TCD
Late Registration = Boogie Nights
Graduation = Magnolia

don't defend Kanya
>>78901965
You literally spelled his name.
Christian Bale
Zack Snyder. Most think he's a shitty director who has no idea what he's doing save for maybe 300, Watchmen, and maybe Dawn of the Dead (Late Registration, Graduation, and MDBTF). His contrarian fans also like his other work, Man of Steel and Bateman V Superman which is pretty much entirely panned by the general audience
>>78906632
Snyder is a kino master. Kanye is the exact opposite. He's the Michael Bay of hip-hop.
>>78906721
>likes snyder
>makes fun of bay
wew lad, you're weaponized plebonium.

Why is it always niggers or some mixed mongrel who finds Kanye's turds appealing? I tried asking them on /mu/ what was so great about his "music". They started spouting at me about how his lyrics are 2deep4me. It's funny because they seem to find meaning and substance from his shitty elementary school poetry that isn't there.
>>78903565
>Get Down
>Made You Look
>Almost every song on Illmatic
>>78903299
Tarantula is more like a coverband. Something like NBK would be a more apt analogy for sampling.
>>78906344
Except they’re... not?
>>78907259
>Why is it always niggers or some mixed mongrel who finds Kanye's turds appealing?
If we're going to be anecdotal faggots, I've always seen the opposite. It's upper-middle class white kids who want to seem "non-racist", cultured or diverse by appreciating rap "music", even though it's devoid of meaning or artistry or longevity.
When I was in college, I never heard of a black person talk about rap, it's just expected. But all the white kids talked about how good Jay-Z and the Grey album is, and my roommate was intent on getting me into obscure underground Louisiana rappers, even though we were hundreds of miles from there.
>>78901934
JJ Abrams
>>78907259
Black people don't like Kanye, retard. Its almost always upper-middle class kids who think they have good taste.
>>78903565
keep trying, literally every notable rapper ever does it
>>78904279
ROFL so the repetitive piano playing in the background of kanye songs is some kind of genius? or is it his pseudo-2deep4me-2smart4u-streetwisdom ramblings being /lit/ as fuck? kanye is a double digit moron. the fact he had huge influence on hiphop says more about how shallow hiphop is than it says about him being anything remotely talented. imagine this: if he were asian, hispanic, or even white - he would be a nobody. NOBODY. hiphop is neiche genre just like kpop, the appeal of them to western white people is that they are being sung by a specific ethnicity that is being fetishized.
>>78910492
meant to say double digit IQ moron
