I doubt anyone likes samurai jack because it makes them cool or different. They like it because it makes them nostalgic for their childhood, or possibly even because it's just a good show.

You probably won't understand this, but it's possible to make media that can be enjoyed by adults and children. I still sometimes enjoy the music I listened to as a kid, and I still enjoy watching the first dozen or so episodes of the Simpsons. Many people don't need "adult themes" (rape, swearing etc) in their media in order for it to be inherently enjoyable. You probably are not interested in watching kids films, so it will be hard for you to understand these examples, but if you at least look up the critical reception for films like Toy Story or Spirited Away, you'll see that even a bunch of adult critics who spend all day watching art films aimed at adults consider these films to be entertaining.

Card captor Sakura is the only show on that list that doesn't have some kind of recent iteration and I can tell you, I don't watch ANY of those other shows still. Yes Sakura's best friend is gay for her so was her mom for Sakura's mom.
Sakura's brother is gay together with that friend of his and there is this genderless homunculus who identifies itself being female.
There is this implied romance between a 10 year old classmate of Sakura and their 30 year old teacher, they are actually engaged in the manga.
The only real normal romance is between Sakura and main boy and main boy used to be gay for that friend of Sakura's brother, but that gay got explained away with that he wasn't attracted to him, but he was attracted to his moonmagic or some shit like that.
