I confess that I was self-defensively being a bit self-parodic here. More clearly laid out, the themes ought to develop as follows: Two close friends are navigating the uncertainty inherent in a relationship with romantic potential within the context of one party's home. On one hand, Nick moves from wholly Other to accepted (contextually speaking). He had never imagined he could have a family life, but now starts to picture what it would be like. This could put even more pressure on his relationship with Judy, as she could serve as the gatekeeper to this potential future. He's 32, after all. He had never really considered settling down, so he feels late to the game.

Judy, on the other hand, worries she has moved from accepted to Other. She's revisiting home after working so hard to leave. Did she leave family life behind when she moved to the city? She's recently achieved a life-long dream and hadn't really thought too far past that. Now she realizes that she has to figure out the next step.

I guess just start by having them do fun stuff around the farm. Tending the fields, messing with kids, meals, etc.
Then once you've got the juices flowing have them start talking about stuff while on a break or something and go from there.

Hell, you could have all that discussion stuff just in one conversation at the end after they've already done everything else. Basically just say what they feel now that they've done all the other stuff.

Honestly, yeah, a little. The original conveyed a sort of desperate fury, and made Nick very animalistic and almost feral. Yours, while great, makes him seem more...resolute? Like he knows what he's getting into, whereas the original feels more he just snapped and flew off the handle with no real plan. The collar puts a fucking end to that, sparking off so hard he starts having a legit seizure, whereas in yours it looks more like a power up. It still looks good, but the tone being conveyed is very different.

I'd almost say go for the kinda werewolf feel, straddling the line--and slipping--between civilized and berserk.
