We was still 100 posts from 404. now we will have two mega bloks threads. Yes, people will still post in the old one. you cant stop it

Really? I always create the mega generals before the 315th post, I though that's when posts got capped on /toy/.

Yeah, you did fine. That's pretty much when any new general starts.

>CoD is Mega's primary line, though they don't realize it yet.

Until Halo games stop being made CoD will likely stay second fiddle to the Halo line. That said, CoD sets are usually pretty generic and don't need the fanbase so much to sell, I can see it outlasting Halo even with CoD games faltering as they are.

Getting Halo Mega Construx stuff in Germany is not too usual but I picked up four Foxtrot blind bags for 3€ each today. The last ones I bought are from five years ago or so, but I wanted to get some newer figures as they improved over the time. Pic related is what I got. I'll head back to the store tomorrow and grab the rest of them I think.

I feel lucky to have that Hawk, it was the one first wave set that I didn't pick up but years later I found one second-hand on kijiji. The guy didn't seem to have the Banshee or Elite from that set but he had the instructions and Spartan. A couple of the parts had been glued on too but I could understand that, ended up gluing some bits of my first wave Hornet because they were just too loose, was gratifying that the quality steadily improved from that point.
>>
>>6482252

Nice shot. I toyed with the idea of getting the arctic team but passed. I think they still have it in the Walmart near me.
I would LOVE to get a Legacy Heros troop builder but there is NONE of that around me.
it's almost funny as the damned company is in Canada.

And...if go to Amazon.. I see this..

Thanks. Yeah I know what you mean about funny business (Alberta here), the only place I've seen with the 16 fig packs is TRU and I never saw that CoD one here. Never saw the latest Halo one either (Spartans vs Prometheans that's slipped under the radar feels like) and TRU generally feels like they're scaling back their Halo stock.

I love my arctic stuff, can't wait to get the latest 'Hog.
>>
>>6482252
Just by looking at what's announced, I feel like this year Destiny was the priotiy, followed by CoD and then Halo.

>>6482253
Can't you get stuff from amazon? Even hlj has some sets at discounted prices, but yeah, mega has shitty distribution.
>>
>>6482283
It does look that way, TRU is the only place here that seems to carry Destiny and they have as much shelf space for it as Halo and CoD combined at the moment. I don't have any interest in Destiny though.
>>

That's a bummer. Some places have those old sets unopened for ridiculous prices, especially considering the brick quality wasn't as good as it is now. I have been tempted recently by finding the old Recon ODST drop pod on Amazon, it never showed up around here and even though I got the Heroes Lt. Dare I would love to have that pod. I'm not sure I can justify $35+ Cdn for it though.
>>
>>6482283
Yeah I could get stuff from Amazon, but it's usually a bit more expensive with shipping. Especially for me because I mainly focus on Lego and just wanna buy Halo in small amounts on the side. So I'll stick to getting blind bags on occasion when I see them.
>>
>>6482301
I bought the new pod a couple days ago and I'd advise you to wait to get those. They're really good and they actually feel more bulky.

>>
>>6482343
I wish these would show up here, no sign of them yet and they've been out a while. The most recent Halo blind bags have yet to appear too, though Heroes series 5 has arrived at least.
>>
out of curiosity, how did everyone get into these toylines? I personally never paid much attention to the Halo stuff and thought the Marvel product looked really lame (always holding onto my disrespect for Mega Bloks 'inferiority' from my disastrous childhood experiences with their products).

And then I was walking through my Target a few years ago and they had an end cap of the three Call of Duty troop packs. And I was intrigued, because they looked pretty cool, and the single figure in the clear window looked . . . awesome. With all that articulation and detail, if the joints weren't loose and the figures themselves were sturdy, I knew this could be something I would want to pursue.

So I bought the seal team pack, took it home, opened it and set up all the guys, and immediately drove to a few different local Targets to buy them out. Mostly because the figures were exactly what I wanted them to be and more, and also because those first waves were not in Target's system, so if you were nonchalant when the frustrated cashier couldn't get them to ring up and they asked you how much they were supposed to be, you could say "The tag said $9.99" and save $5 per pack (this trick worked for the first 24 hours of their release, give or take, and is largely the reason I have hundreds of CoD figures).

They're truly amazing. They hit every target I want out of a toy, and I was happy enough when they had the zombies army builders so I could prepare for Resident Evil style battles. Now that I have a bunch of Terminators, Foot Clan, and incoming xenomorphs? It's easily one of my favorite toy lines of all time. OF ALL TIME.
>>
>>6482347
Halo Heroes Series 5? Where are you?
>>
Ive been purely a halo collector but ive been thinking of getting into the COD series, any recommended sets?

The current "bradley" vehicle or any of the modern figure packs ate pretty good starter sets. They give you an idea if the figures, the modular weapons and the colors of the pieces.

Also yes, CoD figures are larger than Halo figs, so they won't work in some vehicles like the warthogs, but they do fit in the Cyclops and Mantis. Check pic related for size.

I started with the first wave of Halo sets, originally under the label Halo Wars as they were a tie-in with the game being released at the same time. Funnily enough I've never played Halo Wars, RTS on consoles doesn't work for me but I'm quite into the lore and all the games before 343 took over.

I grew up with Lego and army men and was never into action figures but when Mega produced something that meshed these things together as well as a game universe I enjoyed it was a done deal. I stayed with them through the early sets with plenty of teething troubles (loose parts, very limited weapon selection, the same Spartan Mk-IVs in every set) and they steadily improved in all areas and then some.

When CoD first hit the shelves I wasn't really interested at first, didn't care for the games and even less for the fanbase but on a whim I got a couple of the small cheap sets to try them out. They persuaded me to accept them as awesome generic modern warfare guys (quasi-Battlefield even with all the vehicle sets) and I've collected a bunch of them as well. I did eventually warm up to the first Black Ops and greatly appreciate the many ways Mega has brought characters from that game to life, hoping hard that CoD Heroes will finally show up here so I can get that third Frank Woods.

AssCreed didn't sell itself to me very well but I got a couple little sets as curiosities, the one with the cannon in particular to indulge my weakness for field artillery. TMNT has been entirely clearance impulse buys, more for the accessories than for the figs. Destiny doesn't appeal to me at all though if I find something on the cheap I might get it just cuz.
>>
>>6482351
I saw on some toyfair news about the CoD sets. They immediatly got my attention. A few months later, a coworker said she had seen the cod sets and bought them for her husband, so after work I went to walmart and bought the desert set. While building the figs it got me, the details, articulation, modular guns, the fucking removable pouches.

The next day I got the green "abrahams" and that was it. I was hooked. I bought all the sets, duplicates and some halo sets (the mantis, becuase I love mechas) and haven't stopped since.

I mainly collect CoD, but have gotten some Halo vehicles (a bunch of cyclops, odst stuff, the scorpion), I'm also loving Destiny design, and have gotten some Assassins Creed, Terminator and Tmnt (the classic 4 and the technodrome, my first signature set).

I absolutely love this lines. They are everything I ever wanted from toys and the only thing I dreamed of was Aliens, and even if we get 2 figures only, it will be a dream come true. MOTU is the icing on the cake.
>>
>>6482378
>>6482378
I forgot to add, I've never played CoD, Destiny or Halo (past the first one when it was released), I just love these figures.
>>
>>6482351
I was a hardcore Bionicle fan from it's launch, and when they cancelled G1 I was looking for something to fill the void. That's when my parents noticed some Halo toys at goodwill, and got them for me for Christmas. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with them, I still had the "Mega is bootleg trash" mindset, but after putting together the Turret, Warthog and Hawk sets, I was hooked. I might just hunt down these older sets for nostalgia.

These are languishing on shelves at a slight clearance (looking at you Windermere Walmart) or showing up at Dollarama for $4Cdn, I'm surprised they sold well enough to get a second wave.

Anyone else find it funny that Mega were the first to try and make bank on the Funko Pop shitshow and Lego is playing catch-up with Brickheadz?
>>
>>6482492
Yeah, and it's funny because the kubros have articulation and are larger than the brickheadz, yet they are cheaper. The aliens ones are pretty neat, but the design in general is kinda shitty.

The issue I have with the details on the CM's armor is that it doesn't look generic enough for you to be able to army-build him.
I really hope we get more Alien(s) sets.

That xeno looks fucking cool tho.
>>
>>6482996
Indeed. But in a way, it shows they're nit trying to do something generic, that maybe the aliens line will continue.
>>
>>6483026
I'm pretty new to Mega, but how often do they do a new mold and only use it once? They went to the trouble to mold all of those colonial marine-specific pieces of kit, I'd really be surprised if there wasn't more. An USCM troop-builder pack seems like a no-brainer.

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time a manufacturer has pulled that one-and-done shit.
>>
>>6482996
I don't mind it too too much. The skull and cross bones kind of looks like a unit emblem, so 4 or 5 guys all sporting it shouldn't look too bad.

The jeep is a weird set. It looks great and has a lot of detail but it's wildly out of scale. The thing is huge. Just look at the pic, a jeep irl should be at waist high, but this is higher than figs.

Mega Construx Heroes Series 2:
Dutch
The Predator
Lion-o
Mumm-ra
Hellboy
Abe Sapien
Real?
>>
>>6483331
Four out of six of those were wished for earlier in the thread by a few people, and suddenly this list shows up.

What do you think
>>
>>6483331
So far the mega construx heroes have been figures that had kubros. I think that would be a better guideline for future figures. I doubt we'll get a predator and dutch ever. Hellboy I can see and Thundercats as a big maybe.

But who knows. Up until before sdcc a month ago, if someone had said we would get he man and aliens minis we would be skeptical too.
>>
>>6483331
Well Hellboy feels close to confirmed just based on them having the license

It won't be confirmed for ahwile because Mega has horrible marketing
>>
>>6483343
>I doubt we'll get a predator and dutch ever
I think it's unlikely Fox would give Mega the license for one but not the other, considering how popular the AVP crossover concept is
>>
>>6483376
True. And then mega can use the predator body over and over and over with slightly different colors, as all predator figures are. It would be cool though.
>>
>>6483376
Not to mention there is a upcoming predator movie so it would be extra strange not to get a figure.
>>
>>6483379

Prolly won't happen but I'd love a nazi Kroenen minifig.
>>
>>6483391
The only thing that stopped me from getting the minimates preds is how off they look with mega figs. Mega preds? Yes please.
>>
>>6483400
Same. Really if minimates just had spherical heads instead of those awful cylindrical ones I'd have a massive collection of them already.
>>
>>6483395
Kroenen makes more sense than Abe, actually. I know we only have the one series to work from, but they're all versus pairings. I'm sure someone that knows the Hellboy canon far better than I can chime and tell us a more likely villain to pair up with a hypothetical Hellboy minifig.
>>
>>6483428
Rasputin would be better.
>>
>>6483428
>>6483437
I hope it's Abe though. I could piece together a Rasputin or Kroenen from other sets if I need to. Really I hope we get the whole main cast. I mean we'd only need like what 8?

Hellboy
Abe
Liz
Roger
Johann
Rasputin
Kroenen

I always bought lego as a kid and recently after getting a full time job i started buying lego sets again to build and display, it was a great time. Ive lost the magic in star wars bc of the new disney stuff but i was checking out what they had and saw some Halo blind bags nearby.

Bought a few and took them home, was blown away. Pretty much started buying whatever i could find from TRU near work, a couple of wal marts, and a couple of targets. Ordered some Halo heroes that have been out of stock for a while on Amazon as well.

Recently i got a warthog but i feel pretty satisfied with my collection, it was a slippery slope and i have about 30 figs now.

I dont even customize much, some of my favorite figs are the Halo heroes as they come in the box. I bought a destiny set and couple of their figs, they are great as well.

I personally don't want any slots in a hypothetical Hellboy line to be wasted on Nuala or Nuada.

Yeah, I'm hoping for comic aesthetic (assuming Hellboy figures are actually happening). Although if they want to do like Mezco did and I like they have with TMNT, then a comic accurate line AND a movie accurate line would be great.

And there are rumors swirling that the new movie would cover the Wild Hunt and Queen Maeb stuff so maybe we'd get cool mythic monsters.

anyway fellas, imagine this: a mega construx online game, that's a 3PS and would more or less function as a battle arena. Most construx lines would be involved, and we'd get a lot of customization. thoughts?
>>
>>6484054
I'd assume use the Heroes series from all the lines.

Customization would be off the charts, like in Warframe, where you pick a base hero, and also whatever armor in whatever colors you want.

Pop & swap through all the lines.

Updates with new shit to keep up with toy releases.

No bullshit where you need the figure to use it's parts.

A Halo 5 style req system where you get to customize you vehicles in the vain of Lego Racer.

Build anywhere. Probably deployable preset stuff, like the fluff in troop packs.

That's all I got got now.

I haven't seen pics of either comparing with mega, only he figures. Those joy toy (the aliexpress ones) look good, and some guy made a review and it was really a crapshot. Some figs and mechas were good, others absolute shit.

Due to scales, I don't think the b2five stuff would work. They're 1:27, where mega figs are 1:35, which is a bigger difference than one would think.

5/5

I'm blown away by these CoD figures, first time getting some. All the pegs to attach knives and utility packs, and the multi piece guns are incredible. the diver's gun has 5 pieces including the magazine. Even the magazines have slots to put on pegs so you can have figs carry ammo on their belt/ankles/vests.

I got the diver just for the gun but desu I like him more than the horse/fig in the horseback assault set. The horse is a little more "plasticy" and not as sturdy as expected. The front legs have an ankle joint but not the rear legs. I'm totally gonna buy a couple more cod figures, just have to find my favorite ones. I don't know if I'd army build these like I army build Halo, just because I have no attachment to the IP. Overall, holy fuck, Mega Cx is killing it with figures and their equipment

Not even that. I have an Abra near me and standing legs out it's taller than any standard minifigure. It's listed at 2'11. Though a better comparison would probably be with Pikachu since Abra might be an outlier, as well as Machop who is also quite tall. Anyways, Pikachu is around the same size as minifigures and he's listed at 1'4, when someone like Ash is around 5', and so he'd have to be around 4 times bigger than that to be to scale. But then of course, that wouldn't make any sense next to Gyarados or even Charizard. The scale is loose, so they could do whatever, but having a Pikachu be as tall as a trainer probably isn't what they're going to do.

>>
Found Heroes in Walmart in RI! Someone picked the first box clean of xenos, but they missed the second box on a different shelf, so I got two!

He-Man and Skeletor are great, apart from He-Man's shield being a little awkward. Everything I wanted. I hope they make more MOTU figures, the style and scale work really well.

I may just end up army-building the xenos. They're fantastic. If they don't end up selling 4-packs of them, then they're leaving money right on the table. I never got into the NECA ones because you'd need like at LEAST five to even begin representing them properly, and at $20+ a piece, it wasn't worth it. These, I'll pick up as many as I can find.

Passed on the rest, but had I known the Borg had extra customizable pieces, I would've got a couple of those as well. This is my favorite line right now, I can't wait to see what they do next, or what's in wave 2.

Mega is not as popular (yet, I see that changing vwry fast) as other toylines or as lego or playmobil, so this general is the best right now.

There are a couple of ST TOS sets but that is about it. And most of them are long out of production.

Spock, Sulu, and Uhura are only available on the large sized/Enterprise Bridge set. It also comes with Kirk, but he's also available in another set (see below).

After that there is three mini-play sets, which have been showing up a lot these days in discount outlet stores like Big Lots, Ollies, and Magic Marts.

1. City On the Edge of Forever set. The blocks form the time portal and it comes with Kirk that is identical to the one from the Bridge set, along with McCoy and two Red Shirts (one black and one white).

2. Mirror Mirror/Teleportation Room set. Mirror Universe Kirk, Mirror Universe Spock, and a variant of Mirror Universe Kirk in translucent yellow plastic making it look like he's being teleported. Blocks form the Teleportor Room from the Enterprise,

3. Engineer Chamber: Two TOS Kilingons and Scotty and Chekov; all of which are sporting swords. Block set forms the Engineer Chamber

There is also a Klingon Bird of Prey model ship set that comes with the same Klingon from the Engineer Chamber set and an Enterprise model ship set that doesn't have a figure.

TLDR: you can get everyone but Uhura/regular Spock/Sulu cheap as they are the only ones who require you to buy a huge fucking set to get.

I remember wheb I used the Mega Blocks Dragons minifigs to fight the plasma egg horror monsters I had.
>>
>>6487132

They probably did Hudson because they want to save Hicks (and Ridley) for the inevitable big box set for Aliens.

Of the three properties from the first wave of the new line, it's the only one that would be a guaranteed hit at retail (MOTU has been gone for a long time from normal retail and has only survived as an internet only adult collector line) and the failure of the ST TOS sets probably have them wanting to be much more conservative regarding TNG's releases.

So the Big Three (Ridley/Hicks/Bishop) are most likely off-limits from single card release.

Little kids with little to no parental supervision/scalper fags that get mad when they can't find the super rare figure they want and decide to wreck the display

Found a few Yankee sets thrown the fuck behind tonnes of those crap ODST "Army builders".

Went to the ToysRus closest to the Philly bridge, if that helps.

My target literally just has some old Halo and Minions sets. I went there today hoping for some COD and there's nothing. Meanwhile they have Tube Heroes, Minecraft, FNaF, and fucking Cars 3 toys each taking up about half an isle each.

The TRU by me has a fuckload of them, it'd be a nightmare to sift through them all.
>closest to the Philly bridge

Grabbed the Heavy mainly because He-Man needs an axe. I have no explanation for why I bought the stupid unicorn.

>>6488137

I imagine each wave won't have the same three properties. At least one will probably be swapped out for something else.
