Boom, you've got a Netflix Iron Fist.
>>

All that effort just to get that version of Iron Fist seems a bit arbitrary.

The 1st Pratt Lord's head seems to be the stand in of choice. No one wants that figure now anyway.
>>
Looking for some advice: what are must-haves out of the recent ML waves? Most of what I've seen doesn't scream $20+ to me.
>>
>>6460132
most of the recent MCU figures are really good and have really accurate face sculpts.

the recent X-Men figures have been really great for the most part. 90s Cyclops, Colossus and Dazzler are all great. the Phoenix 2 pack is really good and comes with extra heads so you can improve the previous lack luster Jugg wave Phoenix.

The Spider-Man waves have had a pretty good amount of great figures recently. Tombstone, Beetle and Cosmic Spidey are all nice and while I haven't finished it the Vulture BaF is awesome and huge. Shocker, Hobgoblin, Green Goblin, black suit Spidey, new 2099 and the Sandman BaF are great too and the new Moon Knight is amazing and probably my favorite ML right now but I don't have any of the Marvel Knight wave and I've heard Bullseye is fucking awesome.
>>
>>6460132
Don't buy at retail price unless it's something that's flying off that shelves. You'll never find Hela & Ares cheaper than $20. Likewise more common figures can be found loose for cheap on eBay. It all depends what you like and how much you value it.
>>

custom a cape from cloth?
>>
>>6460171
I didn't think it was great, but it was far more bearable than Jessica Jones and a bunch of other angry women fumble around while a British manchild chuckles. (feat. Luke Cage)
>>

>can hit up 5 stores easily and can find every figure in the wave, and multiples of certain characters, but can never find ONE figure in the wave
>every

>>
>>6460190
Ares?
>>
>>6459995
Why does the cape suck? is it that shitty solid rigid plastic? I thought they were learning and started making capes out of that really soft flexible plastic?
>>
>>6460189
I agree. Jessica Jones was so fucking boring. Iron Fist was just mishandled. there was plenty of interesting stuff going on in Iron Fist, they just focused on the stuff no one cared about. I am still annoyed that he doesn't have a costume of some kind. just give him a mask at least.
>>
>>6460212
It's "flexibile" I suppose but it's really rigid still. It's better than hard plastic but it's still too stiff to look right. If you zoom in you can see it also doesn't sit right since it pegs into her back- don't get it in just right and it doesn't stay in. It's a pain in the ass to pose the figure which is a shame since it's gorgeous otherwise. (Standard wonky ML feet aside)

>>6460186
I'll have to but I'm not very good with customization
>>
>>6460221
so its less Polaris and more Brother Voodoo?
>>
My SHF Mk6 Iron Man has always had crazy loose hips, making any pose that involves flight or jumping basically impossible. Is this a common problem for the figure? If I look to replace him, what is the best SHF Iron Man if I am not fussed about a particular version of the armor?
>>
>>6460220
>Iron Fist was just mishandled.
Huge understatement. Danny was basically a fortune cookie-spouting machine with some of the worst onscreen martial arts on the show. How they managed to make the Meachums family drama more interesting than the martial arts side of the show was a huge sign of how much they fucked up. It even managed to butcher the perfect setup Daredevil had laid out for the Hand by melding it with Gao/Steel Serpent only for them to backtrack on this and have Gao separate herself from the Hand anyway.

Jessica Jones might not have been perfect but it knew what it was going for right from the start. Iron Fist wasn't even an Iron Fist show until episode 6, which was practically halfway through the entire first season.
>>
>>6460279
From the ones I own, I'd say Mk3 is pretty good. Engineering is sturdy and compact, especially compared to the latest numerical IM armors.
>>
Ares and Hela are the only two I've picked up. Hows the rest of the wave?

does anyone own Ultimate Spider Woman? Debating buying her
>>
>>6461072

I'm getting her eventually, because I must have all spider-related figures, and I've even seen her in stores still warming pegs. The paint seems spotty on ones I've seen in person, though, so I've never committed.

I've glanced at reviews and she has no extra hands and the hair makes her very difficult to stand up. Cool design, though, and she's an Ultimate character so I could eventually get a separate grouping with ultimate peter and vulture and whoever else plus her, which I find appealing.

Oh damn. I'm in Northern California- all we've got in my neck of the woods are classic Daredevils, a few of the absorbing man wave, and the run of the mill residual GOTG & Warlock waves. I'm assuming my bit of the country gets waves last though since only a handful of stores here even got the Thor Ragnarok line so far
>>
>>6461107

We've just barely gotten the Thor and Netflix waves in the past week or so, and it's a pretty good selection aside from Bullseye being nonexistent, and also the only one I want from those two waves, besides Blade who I've already got.

So is Homecoming Spidey hard to find? Ended up caving and grabbing the last one from Target today after seeing his high prices on Amazon and Walmart. I had planned on waiting to see if I could possibly get him cheap, but I haven't seen a single other Target stock that wave since they're all still sitting on Misty Knights, Speed Demons, and Beetles. I'm starting to worry the Homecoming wave will be a repeat of the Space Venom wave.

Also on that note, what the fuck is up with target and Misty? They a quarter of the toy section on clearance today yet she's still sitting at full price.

Misty's wave is pretty successful Kraven and Chameleon are long standing Spiderman villain. People have been looking for Scarlet Spider for a while, Ghost Rider is Ghost Rider and Superior Venom is a cool symbiote. The stores probably ordered a dozen too many cases of this wave.

Most kids don't have the dispensable income to pick a C-lister like Misty Knight. She also suffers from like 90% fucked up googly eyed, so nobody want to pick her in person. Even for BAF parts most people prefer White Tiger for the Rhino torso. She's like the perfect storm of pegwarming nuclear powered furnace action
>>
>>6461173
Yeah, but it's not the fact that she's pegwarming that I'm wondering about. It's more of the fact that she's been sitting on shelves for such an obscenely long time without going on any sort of clearance.

Ripped the arm right off she-Thor. It was stuck and no amount of heat or freezing managed to get it loose.

I must say I really like the new solid cast pvc torsos. They make repairs so much easier. I remember the hell of trying to pry open the older torsos to get to the inner bits.

This time I just made 2 holes and stuck a spare plamo runner bit in between. Works great.

Yes, just like hot water makes the plastic more pliable and likely to rip.

You'd have to be pretty retarded to try and move the joints when they're that hot (pliable) and cold (brittle).

That's crazy. I had to drive from Austin to fucking Buda to get a Hela. Granted that's only 30 minutes away, but it's because either the stores never got Hela or they sold them already. I had a few stores tell me that people had been calling about that specific item all week. One Walgreens employee told me she'd looked it up for another caller and the nearest one they could find was in Kyle.

I got 8 figures today. I need 2 more bof parts for hulk (loki amd Odinson) but I'm very happy. Jack O'Lantern might be my favorite I own. Ares is cool a shit. He is huge and awesome. Nico coming with her replacement magic arm is goat. I'm working on getting all the sandman pieces so that will be fun. I might get the Spider-Man homecoming set for Vulture but idk. All and all I'm glad I final got into these figures.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the only "retooling" done has been the swap-out of his old shins and feet with Odin's shins and feet. And those are best when some of the front of the shin is hacked off to give the ankles more up/forward range.

I broke down and opened Elektra, and have decided she's a keeper. Her arms are the only sore spot on her, but maybe that's fixable with some parts swapping from something else like ANH Luke Skywalker. Her heads fit perfectly on the old Wasp body and the Kitty/Silk/Invisible Woman body...so with a little black paint, these heads would probably look great on Silk because the face application is really amazing (aside from having too much blush).

The legs and torso have amazingly good range on them. I'm guessing it's the same lower torso and legs as are on Mary Jane and Jessica Jones? The problem with the arms is that they're Popeye arms with massive forearms and horrible elbow range.

Makes me want to pick up Daredevil, but I'm going to play the long game with the Netflix wave and see what lasts until clearance time.

Where am i more likely to find Thor Ragnarok figures, Target, Walgreens, or Wal Mart?
>>

4/5 Walgreens will have at least 3 figures between them. Target have the 4" 2-packs in large quantities, but the 6" figures are on a slow trickle. Their pegs are also curiously labeled "Marvel Action Heroes" and the DCPI number on those pegs doesn't follow through on brickseek (yet). I haven't seen a single Thor figure at my local Walmarts.
>>
>>6463954
Forgot to mention: Walgreen's managers from two different stores confirmed to me that they're only receiving a max of 4 figures per shipment right now, with most receiving only 2 figures per shipment.
This mirrors what happened in the early days of GoTG v2 wave 1. And then a month or so after those early broken-up shipments, they started to get full cases of the figures.

No, it's that Marvel legends figures cost £25+ in the UK, and probably similar in Europe.

That's like $35, which is way too much for what Marvel Legends are: cheaply made toys.

This has made me gravitate toward the fancier figures, if I'm spending that kind of money I feel like I may as well spend a bit more and get something really nice.

I hit up the 3 TRUs in my area today and tuesday like 5 minutes after opening. only one had anything from the Ragnarok wave and it was just Loki and Thor. they all had 3-5 of the Ego 2-pack. one had some of the Phoenix pack but I already had it so I passed this time, but might get one if they are there next week.
>>
>>6464331
interestingly enough the 2 pack star lord has a new head I think. he looks more angry than the normal short jacket head but he has the hair, chops and goatee of the smirking face. if only they just gave him the star eyes from the movie it might have been a much easier purchase for people to make.

the lack of decent accessories ruins it. no Wings for Falcon, no alternate hands or heads for anyone and we really need to start getting arrows for Hawkeye figures.

Yellow DD is common as dirt. Wait for them to do a Spider-Man clearance and pick him up then. He's not going anywhere.

And here are 3-minute double-elbows for Elektra. The arms and shoulder on ANH Luke are a little beefier than I'd like, and a half-shade too light, but I like this better than the 90 degree elbows and overly-large forearms she came with.
>>
>>6464488
What about Leia's arms? Too thin?
>>
>>6464488
wait the Black Series New Hope Leia has fucking double jointed elbows? what the fuck is wrong with Hasbro that they won't give the female Legends this?

IMG_4437.jpg

>>6464488
Actually, it's not even that they're beefier, they're just more "defined" I guess. Her stock arms have the same bicep size. Luke's arms just have larger shoulder and more defined triceps, but the forearms are much more narrow.
>>
>>6464493
>>6464497
Theyre not too thin, but they might be kind of short. I actually like my Leia, so I'm not going to disassemble her yet. Once she goes on clearance and I can get a couple for less than $20, all bets are off. But Luke's arms are just about right.

>>6464497
Yeah, ANH Leia has double elbows. So did Palpatine, but I'd be an idiot to part out one of those. Palp's arms are only a little thicker than Luke's. It seems they only do double-elbows on Black Series now when they can hide it with soft goods.
>>
>>6464488
>>6464500
Yo, this is disgustingly good and you're a genius. How much work was it to get the arms into and out of each torso? Did you have to heat or crack anything?
>>
>>6464470
I mean I agree but I still don't think it's like completely worthless, at half price it's still a good deal
>>
>>6464516
I just heated 1/2 cup of water in the microwave for one minute, and dunked them both from neck to shoulders for about a minute to soften them up. Then I covered the shoulders with a rag and used a pair of pliers to pop them out of the torsos. They popped right in.
I did have to submerge Luke's wrists in hot water to get the hands out. They were the hardest part. Elektra'a hand pegs could stand to be shorter by 1-2mm.
>>
>>6464488
For how much of a pegwarmer as he was, it's disappointing that luke isn't really much cheaper than retail. I would 100% buy two or three just for the arms if I could do that swap for other female legends.

Jyn being $5 means she's actually okay parts for some random things, including headswapping onto SHF Body-Chan. Her hands can probably work on Elektra with a little red paint.

>>6464542
I got mine when his wave went down to $13 at Target. Now I of course wish I'd gotten a couple more. I'd originally popped his arms onto Captain Marvel, but Elektra and Valkyrie seem to be the best solutions so far. Maybe Rogue would be good if there were a decent soft goods jacket around.

I'm pretty sure all waves of a same brand are the same DCPI. So all Spidey waves are the same DCPI, all Cap waves are the same, etc...

Marvel Legends are pretty addictive. Decent variety, decent price point, and generally easy availability makes them a good instant kick.
Long-term enjoyment, though, try an import or a Mezco. Even Commander Rogers, the shittiest offering I've seen from Mezco, is as enjoyable as a whole shelf full of Legends. SHFs are likewise an extremely good bang for your buck and provide a lot more fiddling and fun than a standard Legends figure.

I'm personally not a fan of Yamaguchi's Spidey's sculpt, so I'm getting the Homecoming SHF for my import Spidey.

The PS4 Spidey suit has grown on me. I wouldn't want it to replace his classic suit in the comics or anything but as the default suit in a game that will surely have plenty of alternates I'm fine with it.

Doubt we'll see figures, though.
>>
>>6464594
So did this wave just ship in lower numbers or something? I've seen every wave this year hit in decent force but still only ever came across one figure from the Spidey wave (a lone Tombstone at Walmart).
>>
>>6466594
I think you're just a victim of Hasbro's notoriously bad distribution issues.
>>
>>6465562
That really depends.
Do you want an extremely expressive and poseable comic accurate Spider-Man at the cost of some aesthetic choices and some odd engineering? If you said yes, I think the Revoltech Spidey will do just fine.
Do you want a movie based textured figure that will still have a great range of movement but maybe not quite as much? Can you live with less eye expressions? SHF is the one for you, then...maybe. It's not out yet so who's to say for sure.

Personally I love my Revoltech Spidey. I've owned many Spider-Man figures over the years but this one at least makes top three for me. But I mean, I also love most of Yamaguchi's and Revoltech's efforts in general and think the texturing on the SHF looks weird so I'll admit I'm biased.

I went into a walgreens on the way home from work, looking for a Hela or an Elektra, which they did not have.

But they did, for some reason, have a full set of the Absorbing Man wave, which was a real bummer because I bought Venom, Spider-Gwen, and Ben Reilly for 5--10 bucks more than their MSRP months ago.

Those fuckers must've been sitting on a full case for a long ass time.
>>

A Walgreens with anything close to a full wave's worth is like some kind of white whale. I see people talk about it all the time I've only ever seen maybe one or two Legends figures on the peg at a Walgreens.

>>6466898

I always see peg warmers there, all in two rows. I saw the spider-man logo at the top and assumed it would be the standard morbius/beetle/speed demon/jack o lantern, which it was, but then I glanced at the side of the other row and saw Venom's face behind a Nova, and then looked behind him and saw Spider-Gwen and Ben Reilly, too. It was a real bummer, knowing I could've saved myself like 30 bucks all told by not getting them on amazon.

I considered getting a second Ben so I could keep him as a permanent spider-carnage, but I also thought someone else would want him.

My manager asked the supervisor in charge of the aisle to not order anymore unless stock goes down to a certain point, which never does. I see plenty of disappointment Legends collectors every time they hit up the toy aisle on warehouse days.
>>
>>6466941
Wouldn't it be better to clearance them down to move that stock in order to get something he actually sees profit on?
>>
>>6467005
Individual stores don't have as much flexibility to mark down what they want on clearance, especially when it comes to toys
>>
>>6466891
My Walgreens is also sitting on a lot of older legends.
Not long ago I saw Ghost Rider there. Still kicking myself for not getting it.

The sculpt and paint look amazing on this thing but I can't imagine it having any articulation worth giving a damn
Those elbows probably give only like 45 degrees, and theres not even an ab crunch (unless it's hidden under the straps)

>Hasbro stupidly decided to ship out solid cases of Jyns

After the shit they caught from the shortage of Rey figures I don't blame them.
>>
>>6467257
At least they seem to have learned their lesson, based on what's going on with their monopoly game. Companies need to go back to caring about sales instead of likes on tumblr.

The issue there wasn't that there weren't enough Black Series Reys, but that there wasn't enough variety of Rey toys. There were already more on the way when the bitching started, but due to Hasbro's general reluctance to include girl characters in what they see as a boy's toy line, so the initial shipments focused more heavily on Finn, Kylo and Poe merch.

The issue with Jyn and Cassian may be because they still tend to think that main characters are automatically the biggest sellers (despite years of evidence to the contrary- Han figures have never been anywhere near as popular as Hasbro seems to continuously assume for example) but that still doesn't explain why they shipped solid cases of them, multiple times. This isn't something they usually do, and in the rare cases that they do ship solid cases it's due to overwhelming demand, but there was no demand for Jyn or Cassian. This was done a few months after the initial Rogue One figures had already hit, so they'd had time to weigh in whether either figure was popular enough to warrant solid cases but neither was a high seller (none of the Rogue One BS wave were really standouts as far as high sellers, but K2, unmasked Kylo and the Death Trooper tended to sell out faster than Jyn and Cassian). So the reasoning behind this is completely baffling.

What type of figure stand does /toy use for their ML figs? I picked up green goblin an want to pose him flying, but i would like to use the peg hole in his back rather than those waist grabber ones. Any help is appreciated!

Yeah we got a couple cases of stuff in the back but we're not gonna put them out until this old stuff sells. What's wrong, don't you like Speed Demon? Look, he comes with a part to build... whatsis... Adorbing Man? Don't know what that is but sounds cool, right?
>>
>>6467555
>they put that shit on clearance

Also how long are they going to keep those Dr. Strange endcaps?
>>

Pics?

Fucking this....wait they literally are doing this. Most are selling for $9.
>>
>>6467555

You want to buy toys or not?
>>
>>6467563
Pretty sure his point is that a lot of stuff still isn't moving even at the discount price
>>
>>6467625
I'm guessing they just have a shit ton of it. Plus, some shit just isn't on clearance. Like some of the GoG stuff. I had to trick a WM employee to get my Angela for $9. I'd buy some of them for $5 easy but they need to hurry and drop that shit more.
>>
>>6467633

Yeah, if the Doctor Strange wave was on clearance everywhere at walmart (which it isn't, most of my local places are still selling those fuckers for full price) I would easily drop 5 bucks a piece to finish Dormammu more than anything else, but I'm not going to spend 20 dollars each on a bunch of figures I won't even display. I already have Enchantress and Nico, and I've considered getting Voodoo man a few times, but like 3 versions of Stephen Strange and a lame ass movie version of Mordo are not what I want.
>>
>>6466555
>>6465562
I think we might get a ML since they're doing at least two Spidey waves per year and because the game is a pretty big deal for Marvel.
>>
>>6467640

At the very least I think it increases the chances of getting a Mr. Negative.

>So he comes to my register with one of those faggy superhero toys and I scan it, and it's not in the system, so he tells me "b-but this is a Marvel Legends Galaxy Guarders or some shit from 2014, I never found this one it has the piece I need to finish the Groot Building or whatever" and I'm just like "sorry sir the DCPI is no longer in our inventory I can't sell this" and he starts bawling like a baby and asking me to just charge him anyway because those are usually like $20 and I'm like bitch, it ain't in our system I ain't sellin' you shit, but like I didn't say it like that, so I take the thing and put it behind the counter and he just walks off all "a bloo bloo bloo"
>>
>>6467649
I've encountered shit at stores, not with figures, but other crap, where it's not in their system so I can't buy it even though I got it off a shelf.

At that point they should just give it to you or something, otherwise it'll keep sitting there. I don't think any stores do that, though.
>>
>>6467652
Walmart of all places has been willing to do that for me. I've found stuff that's no longer in their system and the cashier will just ask how much it was and just ring it up that way.
>>
>>6467658

That's good, at least. The most I've done at walmart is pull up Toys R Us' bullshit online prices for their sold out shit to do price matching and then gotten like 5 bucks off MLs.
>>
>>6467649
Is this a widespread thing? I saw the Iron Man from that wave at a Target like a week ago. I didn't need it so I never bothered to check it on the price scanner.

I'd just walk out with it if they won't charge me for it. You put it on the shelf, so let me buy it. I'd just do a Chaddown and ask to speak to a manager. I wouldn't get loud but I'd get upset.
>>
So are these really gone to scalpville or might they still pop up in stores nationwide?
>>
>>6467298
There's definitely something different about a really cute figure versus a really cool one

I don't have enough cute things but the ones I do give some good variation
>>
>>6467895
I wish. Not likely tho.
>>
>>6466594
I think it hit right before a bunch of stuff like the Strange wave started getting marked down, so it didn't show up in too many places. Now Strange and leftover Juggernaut wave figures are starting to disappear and it's made space for newer stuff like the Mantis wave, but the Vulture wave just kind of got lost.

Also, this a force set is dumb.
>No Medusa
>No punk Dazzler

>Bloodstone was in the comic for a fee issue and not a member of A-force.

This triggers the autist.

>And here are 3-minute double-elbows for Elektra. The arms and shoulder on ANH Luke are a little beefier than I'd like, and a half-shade too light, but I like this better than the 90 degree elbows and overly-large forearms she came with.

the hair makes her posing capabilities limited compared to Anya (she has the ponytail) but other than that she's exactly the same as the other girls

side note my May figure has loose shins :/
