jfc, either Medicos wanted him out the gate and rushed it or they actually done it and reduce the quality of production by a large margin going by what the anon said last thread on the rubbery joints and paint quality so far. Either way, now it seems more sensible to play the waiting game and even hold back on preorders until in-hand shots start coming up.

So how do the steel balls go into Gyro's pouches? Are they open in the back?

I hated the purple on Naracia too. Black or a very dark blue would've made them all look nicer.

I was reading a couple of reviews from Japanese instagrammers and a few seem to be divided. One guy was happy with Gyro and his figure didn't actually looked bad, but another girl was very disappointed with the paint job (her Gyro looked bad, like an unfinished prototype done at the last minute bad) but was still glad to have gotten him because of exclusivity. Others are waiting for Gyro to arrived with a mix of excitement and dread.

It's a terrible business strategy for a very small company. You don't need to be smart to realize that you'll be losing consumers if you continue to pull this shit.

Also, people seem to be forgetting that Medicos also released Jolyne crystal ver., and the QC on her was fine. I think people are being a little too paranoid about Medicos' quality control going shit 5ever (not to say that you shouldn't be wary)

Then again those were there on the original too, the quality's been slowly dropping off for a while now. Switching to glossy finishes helped them hide a multitude of sins on the various Stone Ocean and later Vento Aureo releases.

Besides, it was revealed a while back that the Swarovskis are just regular figures from standard production runs they hold back a few dozen of and send off to a craftsman who vajazzles them.

Eh, SAS line always had problems even before...whenever they started cheapening out on the paint.

I have faith that the next release wouldn't by another Gyro situation, considering the Japanese collectors are very upset about it too. Even if it costs cheaper to make, people aren't going to be buying it (let alone for the average MSRP).
But god damn, I'm not pre-ordering anything until I see the next figure's QC.

Don't or at the very least, check for a consistent good rating and have trackable shipping. Price-wise don't waste gift cards that could be used on better stuff since deals pop up on the usual Jap sites. We have no idea when Gyro Second will come out if it will be 2018 or 2020. We also don't know if Second will improve on the original design or be just as bad if not worse. Also don't know just how bad the price is going to get for Gyro. Sometimes he's just 12,000 on Mandy, and sometimes he's 12,960 and I think I saw one or 14,000 as well.

I just went ahead and bought him. Want Part 7 just as much as everyone else and this is perhaps the best we will get. For all we know right now that email about them planning a Gyro Second could be the limited release on Ami.

How well do SAS scale with fairly tall figmas? Specifically Shimazu from drifters. I've seen a review where the guy says he measures 16cm but he looks huge.

You should have a mini-arm to attach to the back of the soundplate but you also need a spare base piece with a hole to display Dio with. Since Medicos only has specific releases with 3 hole bases and others being sold as WF packs you need to improvised.

It regularly goes for 13-15000 yen on Mandy and at auction (vs paying 12000 for SAS) and, now that we know what SAS Gyro looks like, is generally better in the paintjob and articulation department. So why all the hate on this affordable alternative?

Then again, people with your opinion or worse would gladly pay $200 or more for the 10 inch SAS with all these issues and still somehow argue that RAH isn't superior.

While the quality is unforgivable, I think it's worth taking a step back and realizing how many characters of how many franchises are never going to get ANY sort of okay action figure ever. If my favorite character got one of this quality, I wouldn't risk the chance of passing up on it just because it wasn't perfect.

With that said, there's still hope for a decent Gyro at least. Maybe they just rushed these for WF and the amiami limited run or the possible v2 will be done better.

The hair having those black marks is something I noticed on a lot of Gyro's, mine included. The paint job in general seems kind of rushed. Many of the Gyro's left eye are painted strange, the blue studs on his chest can be hit or miss with purple smears on them, and the black arm bands can be really splotchy
