G1 is still king of the 3P market, but there is a light at the end of this tunnel

Same as last thread, anyone got GT's Op Ex? How is he?
>>
Just got Bridge Watcher - he's pretty nice! I love how beefy he is.

Ah, so you're the one that made it disappear from my doorstep.

>>

He's sturdy, simple and solid, but ugly. So the complete opposite of the GCreations one.
>>
Thoughts on bobos lastest vid? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xM2Vx4uuMPU
>>
>>6436416
I felt a little mixed about it. Part of it seemed like he was hiding behind a "wall" of 'Masterpiece.' Sure my Data Clerk is a KO Cupola, and that's a character that hasn't been seen until just last year now; but you can't claim that the field of Devastator has not been filled, even if it's not at the price point and size that you desire it to be. That's falling in the aspect of IP infringement that he shortly touched on (I still think CGPGrey has a great video on that topic).
>>
my only question is why 'personnel'? Did a 3rd party group lay off most of their empolyees?
>>
>>6436073
He's nice and solid, and real chunky in comparison to the super lanky GCreation Prime. I like him a lot better proportionally, and he feels way better in-hand than the GC version does.
>>
>>6436416

I think the free market has demanded more, and the need is being fulfilled by 3P's. I'm fine with both KO's and 3P's, because to me, they're just more options, and I like options. Current copyright law is an absolute fucking joke, and is entirely motivated by greed and nothing else. He's entirely correct about the House of Mouse being the driving force of the current copyright shenanigans, and it shows just how far in life money will get you, being able to dictate law freely whenever it's in your interest.

Are kfc's products made of good plastic? I ordered a pair from bbts for my masterpiece Starscream.

>>

That's insane. I love it.

>Are kfc's products made of good plastic?

KFC is literally the worst of all of the 3P companies in terms of everything.

Well, I needed a new hand from MP-07 Starscream. What was I supposed to do?
>>
>>6436474
>>6436481
>>6436495
KFC's hands are more or less alright, just be warned that they can be brittle sometimes due to just how small the joints are.

If you can find any (and I mean it they're a bitch to find), Eness hand replacements are some of the best from what I've read around here. Not sure if they made any for Starscream though.

Shitty plastic quality and bad tolerances everywhere brittle. Really, KFC's hands are the only even somewhat decent things they produce, so if you're lucky, they won't be shit.

I've got their two cassette combiners (the regular colours of each) and had various QC issues, especially on their Squawkbox (I think KFC's combined mode is called Boxbomber?) but other than that, I'm not sure.

Granted, the QC issues mostly weren't major (except for a mushroom peg sheering off Squawktalk which I had to ask BBTS to replace, and it was very difficult to replace because the chrome makes the joint tight), but other than that, I've been pretty lucky.

Still, KFC tend to be the butt of many QC "jokes".
>>
>>6436683
I bet it's as compatible with it as it is with Inferno's alternate helmet.

I love MP Inferno and Grapple but why the fuck did they have to make two different face shapes, one of which doesn't fit in the cartoon-accurate helmet unless you force it and damage it?
Yes, I found this out first-hand because I'm a blind dumbass. If you haven't tried this, don't make the same mistake.
It also bothers me because two of the extra faces have completely different expressions but only one can be used with the cartoon helmet. So dumb, Takara.
>>
>>6436660
I'm legitimately curious to hear more about him, anon. I don't hate the face as some people do and he looks decent, but how's the QC? What's the plastic quality like? Any major complaints?
>>
>>6436954
I'll be honest, I haven't followed Zeta Toys at all.

What's their deal? They seem to be kinda shit.

Also, to be fair, Unique Toys have got way better recently. Even Warlord improved drastically with each figure.
>>
>>6436978
The tl;dr is the designers from Toyworld took their designs and split into Zeta. So now this is their first outing on their own, starting with Superion and Bruticus. Toyworld is still doing their own Bruticus as well. It's just a hot mess of Brutici and combiners everywhere.
>>
Question from the other thread re: GigaPower's dinos: What are the various versions?

I thought it was just Metallic then Chrome but I'm confused because Chrome Grassor seems to have come out before Metallic Grassor - does that mean Metallic Grassor is the version with "worse" QC? Or was there a version before that?
>>
>>6436981
Oh, I heard about that and for some reason I thought they had made previous toys of their own.

But yeah, I agree, it really is a hot mess right now.

Why is this a thing? Who felt this had to be a thing?
>>
>>6437059
It appeals to a certain niche. Not me, but, you know.

The one thing I don't like is all these third-party toys, especially Optimus Prime figures, that keep being made that don't aesthetically fit in with anything else. I'm not against them but... I don't see the point when there's nothing to put them with.
>>
>>6436954
Will they really be that shit? The Aerialbots look pretty nice to me. Not super-G1 and not the best designs but good enough.

They'll at least be better than TFC's mess, won't they...?
>>
>>6436757
That's MP inferno's face.
>>
>>6437048

>>
>>6436715
Inferno comes with two faces that are pretty much identical aside from one not being able to fit into the cartoon helmet. If you sacrificed one (I think that picture is using the "cartoon accurate" face) it wouldn't be missed.
>>
>>6437164
I just checked my Inferno and you're right, but it looks like it has been modified to fit - I doubt it fits naturally. Look at the top-middle - you can see a V-cut.

In before "waaaah blogging", After enjoying the MAKETOYS HALF DECADE DEAL, I received Maketoys Despotron and an unexpected Citybot Armageddon upgrade kit for my YOTS Omega Supreme. 100$US for Despotron, 16$US flat rate shipping to Canada, and only 20$US at checkout's end to add the loose upgrade kit! Still had to pay 32$CAN in custom fees though....

Anyway, it's still an incredible deal.

Omega Supreme in bot mode with the kit is... Erh... Okay I guess. The kit is just kibble. The wings are unconvincing and only the "nose of the rocket" hand-canon make a difference.
Y'all know what the real draw of the kit is. The CITY MODE! The thing is pretty impressive and was fairely easy to assemble. Also, batteries included! And those lights are INTENSE.

Overall, this is amazing quality stuff here. The plastic feel solid and I never feared of breaking anything. Plus, I'm glad the whole thing fit on this shelf.

Moving right along Despotron, I'm really happy to have that bot. 150$CAN instead of over 400$CAN for the official MP is perfect. This is the 3p Megs I always wanted so having it on clearance is marvelous.

The bot is big, beefy and impressive. I obviously added a 'con label his chest. He's also quite posable with lots of satisfying ratchets joints. His face changing gimmick is nice, but I don't want to lose the parts so I settled for his rage-face and put the rest back into the box.

Quality wise, the plastics feel very solid and I transformed him with confidence. Only problematic part is the head that pop off the balljoint too easily and is a bit of a pain to fold back into the chest. Other than that, Despotron transform pretty easy and I was looking a the instructions only half of the time. He's intuitive and I love it.

Overall, that's a 210$CAN total well spent! I rarely buy 3p figures and often, I regretted my purchase. But this time, no regrets at all.
>>
>>6437324
Meh, I don't personally mind, anon. I've been meaning to get the Manga Mech Series set once I have some damn money and I saw the two extras. I've never had Energon Omega Supreme in any form so I was curious about that kit.

Plus it's quiet in here right now.

So by all means, please continue.
>>
>>6437327
Damn, that does look really cool in base mode, especially considering how he normally looks without the add-on kit.

>>6437328
Wow, that's really expensive for MP-36. I'm in New Zealand and it cost me about NZ$250 shipped from Japan (HLJ). The Canadian Dollar is really close to the NZ Dollar right now, so over CA$400 is nasty. Sorry to hear that, anon.

I can attest to MP-36 being fantastic though but Despotron looks like he's really fun too.

Import taxes suck though. I think they start charging import taxes at $400 total value (shipping included) over here. Not sure because I haven't done it in a while though.
>>
>>6437333

>>6437333

Yeah, the only way for me to have the new MP Megs locally is for 375$CAN plus taxes, meaning over 431$CAN!

Ebay is barely better with 380$CAN to 390$ shipped from Japan. And you can bet your ass that customs will hit hard meaning it WILL be worse. Customs will calculate sale taxes PLUS an extra 10$CAN for "handling fees", meaning it will amount to a whopping amount of OVER 450$CAN!

After seeing numerous video review, MP-36 is great, but no fucking way it's 450$CAN great.

On a happier note, only 20$US for the YOTS Omega Supreme upgrade kit instead of the original 120$US is an incredible deal. Really, I feel like I have my money's worth 10 times over.

Also, roughly 150$CAN for Despotron is I divide shipping and customs is the RIGHT price for a MP level Megs for me. Despotron is well worth that money and I'm very glad to have waited instead of being stuck to pay the original 300$CAN total it would have cost me.

Ouch, that's horrible, anon. A real shame though.

And I agree, it's great but not CA$450 great.

Since I don't have Omega, I'm wondering if I order Hover and Bomber with my order or just forget about them. I only really like one of the two so I'm torn. I guess I could give them to my friend who likes Transformers too. Hmm...

At 20$ for both, consider you have one free bot. So it WILL be worth it. A shame you don't have YOTS Omega Supreme and it's now a bazillion dollars on Ebay now. I did good to buy it from BBTS at the time, and on sale at 100$US. Furthermore, it was at the time the CAN$ was worth the same or even a bit more than the US$ so it turn out to be priced just right. And I don't remember having paid customs for it either.

By the way, I just Transformed Despotron back into bot mode. Without instructions. Can't believes how easy his transformation is. Even more so than the disappointing Hegemon that I sold for cheap without regrets.

With how amazing Despotron is I have no need for the official MP-36 at all.

For me Appolion was what the original MP Megs should have been. But still updateble to MP-36. As for Mightron, I dont like his square legs and all that gray in the front of his legs. Despotron is BEEFY for a Megatron to be really G1 accurate, but for me, he is the greatest looking of the bunch and I knew he'll look fantastic in my collection.
>>
>>6437327
Cool poster Anon.
>>
>>6437411
From a pure aesthetic standpoint, I still think Apollyon is the closest any 3P Megatron has come to looking like a Shogo Hisui-designed MP Gun Megatron, It fits right in in a MP collection.

Still, Despotron is just much better engineered over all.

Anyone know how to get TFC Structor apart? I feel like I'm missing something. Mine has a shitty ratchet for one of the wheel/shoulder sections so I was going to try to fix it.

Got all but one of the screws out and even after using a proper-fitting screwdriver bit with an electric drill, I couldn't get it out. Stripped the screw because I'm a retard so I decided to try to drill into the screw so I could pull it out that way. I don't think I've done that on such a small screw before... and it seems to have just made it worse. I've drilled all the way through the screw hole now and drilled most of the metal out but the thing still won't come apart... but it doesn't seem to even flex on the other side either so it's like I missed a set of screws or something, but I don't think I have.

Any tips...?
>>
>>6437452
Never mind, I'm a retard. There are two small grey screw caps around his nipple area that you have to remove as well. That might help...

What should I buy next month? Heres my options, and I'd like some opinions on them by people who happen to own them if there are any in the thread:

>Gen Toy's Op Ex
>Gen Toy's Legends sized Megs kit
>maybe their Optimus kit too? Is it even out?
>IF Scorponok (maybe Black Zarak? Is that version any "better" or anything?)
>IF Shockave
>IF Datsun trio, if anyone still has them in
>IF Starscream
>Fanshobby Grotusque...Wait, is this even out yet?
>Might start trying to collect Poseidon, but I'd want to start with Tentakil, and he isn't out yet, what would be a good starter point? Or is Tentakil out this month?

I've only got like...Maybe $150-200 tops to mess around with, knowing my usual bills and such. Only 3P thing I'm currently going "all in" on is TFC's Road Caeser, getting Raging Bull sometime soon, have him on order. Is the next guy in the line due out in Aug, if so he's gonna eat up most of my dosh right there.

I don't know why this had to be a thing but I honestly really appreciate it. It's nice to see companies come up with these ideas nobody asked for because it can result in something we never thought we wanted until we saw it.

Not to mention, I think the kit improves the aesthetics of the base figure which I really wasn't big on from the start. This fixes the feet which I absolutely hated on the base figure and helps the piece feel a little more cohesive. Still doesn't really fix the alt mode but it looks marginally better, save for the extra tab that's just hanging off the grill. Would be nice if they added a hinge so it could at least fold back against the body of the truck instead of sticking out. All in all though, knowing this exists actually makes me reconsider picking up Manus and then snagging this kit when it drops.

Here's hoping they do the same for Rioter Despotron as well because we need a combining Megs to battle a combining Prime.

Honestly, I wish FansToys would just join the party and do a Megs of their own. In my opinion, they have consistently nailed the G1 MP look with every figure they have done and they're engineering has always had an elegant simplicity to it which made both modes look clean and accurate to the source material. So far, every MP Megs we've gotten has looked great for one aspect or another but then each one has also had something there to turn me off.

As was stated earlier, Appolyon really has that Shogo Hasui MP look down but the complex transformation and the messy inner legs discourage me from choosing him.
DX9's offering has a great simplicity to it but the thin and boxy legs plus tiny feet are a turn off.
MakeToys looks baller but is just too chunky and stylized for my tastes.
MP Megs nails the line-art and has some of the best proportions IMO but he's kind of a mess in how obvious all of the transformation joints and panel seems are in bot and alt mode. Still impressive but just a little to messy.
Then we have WeiJang who pulled off an amazing and almost perfect Megs in both modes but they just had to go and make him 12 fucking inches so he's going to be noticeably too tall to fit in.

I feel like if anybody is going to get this absolutely perfect, it'd be FT so I'm just going to hold out hope they'll do it eventually, unless they make a formal statement that it's never going to happen.

Oh, and the transformation isn't complicated. If you think it's complicated, you're just braindead.

I think FansToys are planning to do one at some point but don't quote me on that.

I'm not into all FansToys stuff though. Some of it's almost so accurate that it's boring, like Grinder.

Someone... maybe in the previous thread or on TFW, I don't remember, but someone said that their biggest complaint with FansToys was their lack of creativity and I agree. I couldn't figure out what it was I didn't like about FansToys and that's it.

That's not to say I think FansToys make bad figures - if I thought that, I wouldn't have Guardian/Skyfire on the way - but they do exactly what they say, typically, in make cartoon-accurate figures. But I personally like a little more creative flair, like with GigaPower's Dinobots vs. FansToys' Dinobots, or DX9's Stunticons (okay, we've only seen Breakdown, but still) compared to X-Transbots'. Which again isn't to say any of them are bad, but I personally find them a bit bland BECAUSE they're so accurate. It's the same reason I like Hasui Masterpiece designs.
>>
>>6438357
It's definitely nice but I personally feel like if you have have Legends one (especially the Legends Legends one - this shit is too confusing; let's call them Basics or Scouts again), it's a bit of a waste of money.
Hmm, that sounds wrong though. Like, I think it's a great-looking figure and I'd love one but... how do I put it? I only need one little Shockwave and Takara's already looks pretty good (and has a 5mm port for others to hold), but if I didn't have that already, I'd definitely buy Iron Factory's instead.

I'm not really interested in whatever megatron they come out with because of that. Their Megatron would either look just as bland as MP36 but with better engineering, or pretty much the same but in silver paint.
>>
>>6438825
You think MP-36 looks bland though? In person, he's gorgeous. One thing I've noticed is that that metallic grey paint doesn't photograph well at all. I feel like MP-36 is one of those figures that just cannot be done justice in photos, for the most part.
I have complaints about him but he's quite good, really. Just very cartoon-accurate, but in a way I personally like.

I just kind of find it unappealing in general. I haven't seen it in person but in all the comparison shots such as >>6438025 I find the silver to look a lot better, and MP36 takes such a drastic shift in aesthetic in general (the more pastel-ey flat colors, cartoon proportions and style of transformation) that I find he sticks out among other MPs.

I still want to get one anyway eventually just to see what the fuss is about in person, but 200+ for a figure I'm not really sold on to begin with is too much just to risk confirming my dislike for it. If they ever do him up in silver and maybe have him a little cheaper with less accessories I'd bite the bullet then.

I talked to Canadian about this yesterday (not sure if you're the same one) and yes, it sucks, but unfortunately, it's because the CAD is ass right now (and your prices are still marginally better than they are here in New Zealand), and you're shipping halfway across the world. And no, he's not worth anywhere near CA$430, but then again, very few figures are.
>>
>>6438888
I understand people liking the silver better, but that picture is a perfect example of what I'm talking about - photos and videos rarely capture the metallic grey in a way that looks good. I honestly think it's just one of those figures that cannot be photographed well.

The transformation is fine. I'm not sure why that's a problem for people. the arms can be a bit of a pain in the ass when you have to finally tab them together at the end, and they could probably make the tab at the end of them both that does under the barrel section longer, as well as refining some of the tolerances, but it's not bad at all and is quite enjoyable, I find.

The price isn't really going to go down though. I still don't understand the price complaint, because he is only ¥1000 or ¥2000 yen more than MP-10 Prime and Ultra Magnus, if I remember correctly. The bulk of the added cost comes from the exchange rate and shipping for Americans.

I mean, I get that it's expensive for you guys, but you have to take into consideration that TakaraTomy didn't go "OH, LET'S SCREW OVER AMERICANS!" because actually, they literally don't care about you guys. Nor do they care about me or anyone else that isn't Japanese. Yeah, it sucks that it's pricey but I don't think it's not worth it or anything. I just think he's a good, solid and finally OFFICIAL Masterpiece Megatron... and not MP-05 (which I also have, and I still prefer MP-36 hands-down, even colour-wise, to be honest).

Oh, and again, the colours in general really aren't that flat in person. It's the one thing I don't like about MP-36 - that he doesn't photograph well. I was legitimately surprised by how much nicer he looked in person when I got him in-hand.

Then again, it's still up to personal tastes, and I'm not here to tell you that you're wrong, just that it looks a bit better in person.

I'm also the guy who likes MP-05 even though it's a clusterfuck that I'd recommend to a grand total of absolutely no one, so, you know...
>>
>>6438882
That's kind of my point though - their quality is all over the place and there is zero consistency to it.

Mate, the people here are usually dropping at least a hundred for each figure. If we really thought he was the best looking Megatron we'd have no problem paying for him despite his price, but that's not reality. MP Megatron only does one thing right, looking like the cartoon. From some angles. Compared to specific model sheets and frames from the cartoon. Yes, we really, really do think he looks the most shit compared to the alternatives. Add to that his paint chipping and I personally can't even justify purchasing it for the handfeel (something I gladly did for MP Artfire). Until there's a second run that fixes the paint or there's nothing else better to buy MP Megatron isn't in my radar for purchase.

>I'm not into all FansToys stuff though. Some of it's almost so accurate that it's boring, like Grinder.
That's a fair enough sentiment but for me, that's most of the appeal of MP scale is the accuracy. It's why I'm so bummed about the huge shift in the 3P industry towards MP scale because I'm seeing a lot of great looking designs coming out that feel more like neo-G1 interpretations that would go best with my CHUG shelf but they can't because they're MP scale.

Still, I like the accuracy that FT pulls off and in all honesty, Grinder is my favorite example. It's such an elegantly designed figure and the construction quality is fantastic. Only thing I don't like is the dino head (and to say "don't like" is a little incorrect. It does still look great, it's just not the accuracy that I want) but they have the replacement head on the way to fix that.

Still, I think FT manages to strick the best balance of accurate sculpts that looked like they walked right out of the TV but they also add just enough extra details/greebles to the design to keep it visually interesting, as opposed to something like >>6439073 where damn near the entire thing is flat slabs of color and the only parts that break that up are the seams and joints from transformation. MT's Starscream, to me, is a better example of "too toon accurate" to the point of being really bland.

>>6439076
>now suddenly everyone will like it just because maketoys did it
Eh, a lot of people still DON'T like it and MT is still a really mixed bag it most people's eyes. They seem to try to dabble in just about every style and scale and it often results in a lot of love it or hate it splits among 3P collectors. Even among MT collectors, you'll have people who really love one particular line they're doing but absolutely another line.

From another perspective of someone that's really not a fan of him;

He does this thing certain toys do where he looks like shit from some angles while great in others. This is the result of a front heavy design and trying to capture a certain g1 silhouette while being a gun transformer. TT is turning into badcube where they try to get everything right but you end up with a jigsaw puzzle looking transformer.

Megs arms are clearly just panel kibble as are his feet. His back is just a fucking mess of shit that rather impressively forms into a perfect rectangle. He has a big bobble head, long legs, and full diaper as a result of that g1 target which may not appeal to everyone.

I really do wish FT would give it a try. It would look better at more angles and be a bit more old hasui style at the expense of some articulation and g1 cartoon accuracy.

What the fuck, is Maketoys Hasbro now?
>>

I think they may be doing that because Striker Noir was much more popular than Striker Manus

They may be conflating accessory count with color scheme.

Of course I don't have any solid numbers to back this up.

If they play it smart they'll put out Thunder Manus with a ton of extra accessories to make that one sell like Striker Noir did.

My only concern with this is that Beast's forearm and thigh swivels are easily the worst part of him, and putting weapons in his hands are going to bring this to light. He can hold things, but only at certain angles, or else it'll just flop to where the heaviest portion is angled down. They're barely strong enough to hold the forearms + gun alone at MOST angles (some are still too much and make it tilt).
>>
>>6439578
I have no clue about powermaster prime or whatever, but I love the shit outta manus and noir so I'm a little tempted. It's basically ultra magnus, but in different colors, yea?
>>
>>6439895
>Ultra Magnus

No, not really.

Similar in concept though.

Little dude links up with and controls cab which can use the trailer for a super mode.

Based on the character Ginrai/Super Ginrai from Transformers Super-God Masterforce, a Japan only G1 cartoon.
>>
>>6438950
>The transformation is fine. I'm not sure why that's a problem for people.

It really isn't to me. I dislike the use of seperate parts for robot and gun mode (fake alt mode parts always disappointment me, especially chests) and the entire transformation is excessively complicated to achieve a gun mode that looks awful and a robot mode that falls apart visually from angles other than the front.

And the price only bother me because it seems like you just get less with him. In terms of official MPs, 200$ can get you Prime and his trailer, Magnus who is enormous, or MP36 who is pretty much just a slightly larger than average character (even though I realize he comes with the silencer, stock and a fair amount of accessories)
>>
>>6439693

I love Jazz's look in the movie but he barely did anything and ate shit in the climax.
>>
>>6441129

It's probably because they die before they can do anything fucking stupid because Bay's writers are childish hacks. So the characters you like aren't ruined in your head because all they did was show up and then die, before they got reduced to dick jokes and farts.

The paint chipping isn't a huge issue though, despite what people say, and that's just your opinion that it doesn't look good. The fact that you think you are speaking for everyone when you say that you think he's the worst compared to all the alternatives just means you're a delusional idiot.
>>
>>6439182
I understand where you're coming from but I personally prefer Shogo Hasui's ideal of blending realism and cartoon accuracy. I think it just makes more interesting figures in general, whereas FansToys tend to have very little creativity.

Grinder is sort of my prime example, but not because he's bad. In fact, I think Grinder looks absolutely friggin' fantastic... but I also prefer the look of MP-08, which is arguably less accurate (at least in some respects).

Personally, I'm all in for GigaPower's Dinobots (which I think I've said multiple times now) because they're just a bit more interesting to me visually. If I was rich, I'd buy both sets, but since I'm not, I can only justify buying one set of Dinobots (and the same with Seekers, which is why I have none yet).
>>
>>6439359
I don't really agree that he looks like shit from some angles. Maybe "some" but certainly not most, anyway. But at least you aren't trying to start a war over it, so I appreciate you just giving your opinion and not being a dick about it.

I still say that MP-36 looks really good and is very accurate. Sure, he has a few too many panel lines, but I feel like it's worth it in the end. I honestly love his arms and legs, and the head, to me, is absolute perfection.

I've never really understood the "diaper" complaint either. They have big waists with be waist skirts. I dunno, it looks fine to me, but then again, I like MP Ironhide and Ratchet a ton too, despite their imperfect (though I'd argue the Shadow Fisher upgrades basically perfect them).
>>
>>6439060

I've been eyeing Prime for a bit now. There were a couple for about $40 on eBay from some nobody with 0 feedback. Was probably dodgy but I thought it might be worth the risk, what with buyer protection and stuff. Tried to buy it but PayPal refused the transaction and eventually the listing was pulled not long before it was due to end.

Oh well. They still look like they're worth full price. Only "major" problem I've heard about with Alpha Pack (Prime) is that one of the hinges in the canopy area often gets stressed easily but can be heated up to be fixed, so as long as you're careful with that area, it should be absolutely fine.

I know Megatron isn't perfect WW but he still looks great, and I'm excited about Grimlock too.

Personally, I've never been a fan of combiners, but I'm seriously contemplating dropping the $200+ on pic related. >>
>>6441729
>Any molds I should avoid?

The Blaster/Soundwave/Perceptor molds aren't bad, just...Well, they have probably the worst altmode of all time because it was based off the original Blaster IDW 1 shot. Where he turned into some..Sorta..Sound...Tank...Thing. Whatever. It's a really kinda shitty vehicle.

I know their Blitzwing had some tabbing issues. Tolerances are a thing IF never has truly overcome yet, usually something somewhere on their figures is just a biiiiit too tight. I know their Ultra Magnus had the same kind of problem, shit was just tight.

Other than that, you should be good. They make good stuff on the whole, just expect things to be a bit tight at times. I honestly wish IF would offer upsized versions of their figures, I'd go full retard on most of these if they hit Deluxe sizes.
>>
>>6441742

Yes. They are all excellent and you should get all of them. Seriously. Tengu may be the weakest if only because he sacrifices some for having so many modes and even then he's a lot of fun.

Blaster/Soundwave/Perceptor are ok too. While their alt mode isn't great the bot modes are nice but you can tell they're IF's early stuff. The cassette bots are awesome though, their Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Steeljaw, and Ramhorn are worth it.

And if you have Metroplex their first release is pretty cool with Sixgun and Slammer.

He's very good, especially for the price. Got mine for $85. However, theres a few issues: You can't put the solid barrel attachment on his gun mode, just the flexible one, because you WILL break his left arm cannon off if you use the solid barrel attachment for gun mode. Also be careful how you turn his arms, it's possible to scratch the paint on his joints with his big ol' shoulder blocks. You won't really see if it you do manage to scratch it, but it's possible (I've done it myself, obviously).

The barrel issue and the hose issue are just about the 2 main things I'm aware of through the various videos I've watched.

I'm just a sucker for black redecos.

>hose issue

Honestly, getting the hose in was easy. I dunno why youtubers were having problems with it. You just squeeze the tip and shove it in.
