Batgirl of Burnside probably would have sold if not for the bike almost nobody cares about. The figure looked good. Cyborg was probably never gonna be a big seller or anything but making him a deluxe figure with his dumb charging station didn't help matters.

I agree, in theory, a deluxe figure would have been better but retail doesn't want stuff like this.

The only way Hasbro could have done a large pack like that, would be on Hasbro Toy Shop or make it an exclusive to some retailer willing to pick it up. That alone would make it pretty scarce to most fans and kill the possibility of a lot of fans ever getting one. Releasing it as a BAF was much better than the alternative IMO. The markup on an $40 exclusive could be anywhere over double the original MSRP on the secondary market. This isn't a random 3 pack of figures that only the majority want 1 or 2 figures from the pack. It's the main villain from the MCU Spider-Man film.

I'm fairly certain whoever is in charge of picking what characters get made for Marvel Legends is a big fan of that series specifically, because we've gotten basically every character specifically from that (which includes characters that would otherwise be totally unknown to even the average spider-man fan) with the exception of 1.

I found the sandman wave shocker in a walgreen last week with another one right behind him, so I'd keep an eye out for him in a store. Unless you've got some specific attachment to the character, there's not anything that makes him worth more than 20 bucks (which to me still seems overpriced for the majority of MLs).

I would love a figure of the first version of Toxin. I honestly hate the Venom tongue so much, especially on other characters. I'm so glad the hasbro Venom has the original smiling head with no tongue.

It mainly comes down to shelf space. Shelf space is a prized commodity in today's toy isle.

A retailer like TRU doesn't care that much cause they specialize in toys but Walmart or Target doesn't like large items like this cause they eat up shelf space. It's one of the reasons TRU usually gets larger stuff. Companies often get away with some larger items during the holiday season but in general they're not interested.

What do you guys do with your Marvel Legends boxes? Do you throw them out? Mine are currently stored in the Amazon boxes they came in, stacked on a table and I don't know what to do with them.

I only keep the boxes for my import figures and even then I'm considering getting rid of most of them because they're just taking up too much space

If I resell them I'll sell them loose and the packaging all looks the same so it's not good for display. They're also shaped weirdly so they don't stack well.

Yeah. It's incredibly baffling how Hasbro seems to be unable to keep up with new technology that's not necessarily ruinously expensive. Simple things such as option hands and heads, non-gummy plastic for elbow and knee joints, and shoulder butterfly layouts should be no-brainer standard features, and yet ML's design paradigm seems forever stuck in the mid-2000s.
