I'm not sure how to feel, the last MCU Loki is expensive but if it wasn't an exclusive I don't think it's be popular at all. And this one is the same thing but looks even gayer so

Same thing with Thor, it's hard as balls to get the Odin leg he came with last time but if that wasn't the case nobody would care. Then the rest of the wave is filled with some literally who's for most average shoppers.
>>
Anyone else really disappointed about the Netflix wave? First wave in a while I honestly don't have any interest in any character (other than Bullseye).

I liked the mix of comic/cinematic figures they've been coming out with and it sucks they didnt keep it up. I just don't see tons of people lining up to get figures of a weird young Jewish boy Punisher, an old black man with a sword, or two generic looking white actresses. I get they may appeal to like die-hard fans of the shows, but unless you're invested in the character as they are specifically portrayed in the show then I don't understand who would enjoy it.

Like for example I've never watched any of the shows and was confused as fuck how they fucked up Punisher so badly until I realized it was a Netflix wave

The X-Force figures are $500 easy, also Jubilee BAF, Figuarts, Bane BAF, Sentinel & some others probably closer to 5k.

The question is, is it worth the hassle of selling individually (shipping/boxes/post office trips etc) or offload it in one shot for a smaller piece.

Nah, the toys pretty much peaked in the early 10s.
There was a pretty big spiral down and its only now that they're going back up to producing good stuff again.

Here's what Marvel releasing at the time, along with Heroic Age and Fear Itself. Not bad, but not great either... and the slow trend towards mediocrity and the current shitbog.
>>
>>6406713
I think its behind the hammer.
That is good, I never messed with that mold before. I saw the ball joint hips and am imagining him with the same problems as Absorbing Man and Sandman. Oh well, glad we are getting Ares. Now if they could just release an updated Iron Patriot and Gargan Venom so I can start forming the Dark Avengers.

>am imagining him with the same problems as Absorbing Man and Sandman
I've never actually owned the Ares figure so I can't say for sure, but I think he'd probably have Y-jointed hips since that was Hasbro's way of doing hip joints back then.
I hated Y-jointed hips back then and I'm not a big fan of them now, would rather have the weird connected hips Sandman and Absorbing Man have honestly.
Still I do think the rest of the figure looks pretty nice and it's really cool of Hasbro to rerelease an old BAF as a single carded figure.
Wonder if they'll do this for any of their other smaller BAFs from back then.
>>
>>6406715
>the toys pretty much peaked in the early 10s
While there was undoubtedly a drop in quality and things have slowly gotten to a good point again, I'd still say the point we're at now is definitely better
>>
>>6406308
I've watched all the Netflix shows, so I feel the exact opposite. This is the first wave I'm probably gonna pre-order, because I actually want every figure, and the BAF is someone I've been hoping would get something new forever.

Molds are expensive so yeah probably
>>
>>6406282
>>6406599
So, is the Hulk BAF going to be a completely new mold or just a re-tool of the Thanos Series MCU Hulk?
>>
>>6406823
Looks to be an entirely new mold to me. Of course the arms/legs/head are clearly new and the torso seems to be thicker than the older Hulk body, the diaphragm joint seems to be placed differently and if I recall correctly the old Hulk didn't have a disc in the neck
>>
>>6405590
>>6405600
I feel like the don't make toys of the dead characters, which explains why MCU villains are next to non existent. Also, following my own logic, spoilers for vulture surviving in homecoming.
>>
>>6406823
I think it's gotta be all new, part of their justification for Mantis being the GotG2 wave 2 BAF over the bigger figures in that wave was that they can't release figures on molds that were initially released as basic figures as BAFs. So they wouldn't be able to use that Hulk, re-tooling or no.

>>6406823

it has to be a new mold. The way BAFs work is they have to be molded as a BAF. Its why Mantis was a BAF. They were tooling an all new figure from the ground up and could slip it in as a BAF. Versus say the ex nihilo mold which is not molded as a BAF. All new molding means it has BAF potential now, according to last toyfair.

Not your typical ML collector here, crossing over from DBZ general I'm interested in this goldman demon because he looks like a generic DBZ alien villain, but I'm willing to wait until the price goes down.

A lot of generic marvel legends are $7-8 on Amazon. Is goldman alien gonna bin as hard as those $7-8 guys eventually? What are the most cost efficient way to collect less popular ML figures, just as fillers?
>>
So they finally got the Homecoming wave at my local Wal-Mart. Due to the GOTG and Dr Strange waves clogging shelves, I broke down and bought OG Beetle online last week (though he still hasn't arrived yet).

Bought Captain Universe Spidey but I have to ask; what the fuck is up with the bearded head? Peter did not have a beard when he had cosmic power. Is it a reference to another Captain Universe host?
>>
>>6407614

The bearded head is Peter's head.

In particular, M2/Spider-Girl Peter Parker (where Peter had retired and grown a beard).

As for why they stuck it with Cosmic Spider-Man? Unmasked Spider-Man heads are super rare to come by and they probably thought including it with Cosmic Spidey might make more people buy the figure
>>
>>6405600
They did Quicksilver when Hasbro first started making ML figures.

It's still one of the best figures from the original incarnation of ML Hasbro put out.
>>
>>6407603

It's really just a waiting game. You can get Wasp right now for $10 at several online retailers, but won't find her in most physical locations.

WM is better than Target at putting old waves on clearance, but sometimes they only drop them down to $15 or they later raise them back up to $20. I've been to a handful of WMs that for the last 6 months have had like 2 dozen of Dormammu wave figures going in and out of clearance.

Aside from some one-off clearance deals at brick and mortar, Amazon has been my go-to for getting old waves or cheap figs in a wave to finish out a BAF. Lots of the Onslaught wave is still really cheap, for instance.
>>
>>6407599
the head is freakishly big
>>
>>6407531
Except every casual wants Loki, including grills.

If anything, Girl-Thor is going to be the next Misty Knight, and even Hasbro thinks young/comic thor there is going to shelfwarm, hence putting Hulk's body with him.

Anyone else have a really loose Beetle from the latest wave? Even his shoulders are loose on mine. Funny enough, the wings are very tighter than the female Beetle so that was an improvement. I'm guessing it is the plastic they used.
>>
>>6407867
I'd say just wait until the review comes in. Figuarts is a safe bet, but Mafex is improving and you'll never run out of ML movie Spiderman for a while because he's double stocked.

Hasbro's decent, but the articulation seems to be lacking for a Spiderman figure. Mafex can be awesome or can be a disaster. Figuarts seems safe because they had the Chun Li split legs hip articulation that is tried and true proven, but we'll see.

Got in Cyclops and Colossus, really happy with 'em both. Colossus is an especially impressive figure.

But the question is, bearded Colossus or clean-shaven? I say beard; it looks awesome and the bearded head seems to fit on the body better.

So the Target by me put the ML Spider-Man Homecoming Two-Pack 3.75 on clearance. I'm assuming because the entire wave had damaged cases (figures are mostly okay. A few Spider-Men had bendy legs but that's probably because of the shitty figure). Kind of cool to snag a good Vulture and finally get a Shocker for that scale.

Wasn't expecting this, but Spider-Man Homecoming made me actually want to complete the Vulture BAF. Probably the first truly great MCU villain.
>>
>>6409387
That was my exact thought as I was walking out of the theater, but then I looked up pics of the BAF wings and they're just not articulated enough. He was doing some straight up ninja shit in the movie.

I'll definitely pick up the base figure though, it's just a pity we didn't get a michael keaton head with it.
>>
>>6409395
>>6409387
As someone who has finished the wings outside of one of the turbine engine pieces, they're alright.

I feel like adding more articulation in would have ruined the budget, and they are articulated well enough, but the joints themselves are just super loose due to the size of the thing and there's not a lot of poses you can keep them in.

There not being a Keaton head, especially with how good the real life/actors heads have been lately, is a crime though.

So I got pic related, happy with the sculpt, floating pieces aside, but there are 2 issues with mine.

The first is minor, just above the goggles is a tiny splot of blue paint, am I right to assume the rest of the skin toned area is just bare plastic, just so I know if its safe to use paint removing chemicals or not.

The other is more serious, when I rotate the armsvia the shoulder both sides make a "click" sound much like a ratchet, this is the first time I heard this sound on a ML figure despite my inexperience (I have death's head 2, symbiote spiderman but barely touched him, and the hulk buster/age of ultron wave but I also collect star wars black series).

Is this clicking intentional or is something stuck between the torso and shoulder connections, if there is how do I safely remove the joint to inspect without just pulling blindly?

>just return it
Not willing to buy another online or drive 40mins to another store, I'm used to hasbro qc being jumpy and have fixed a few items in the past, just never a marvel legends figure.

That's actually pretty normal for that body in my experience. My Carnage, Blizzard and Daredevil all do it too as well as my Cyke.
>>
>>6409866
So its normal eh?

Sounds weird considering deaths head 2, which is a bigger body, just goes by friction yet cyclops goes click click, its pretty damn loud too and yet the body and its arms are so loose, surely a friction joint would of been enough right or is the mold quite old?

I'm just worried its tears itself apart, when I shake him he rattles inside like some plastic has fallen inside of him, I also just watched a video review and their copy of cyclops didn't so I assumed it was a qc issue
>>
>>6409871
That mold has been around for quite a while now. It's probably just getting worse with age. Again all my buckycaps have held up quite well over the years and a few of them have this exact issue. If you're really concerned you can remove the harness and pop open the torso on the seam and take a look inside but I'm not sure what would actually fix it. It hardly bothers me enough for me to want to do anything about it.
>>
>>6409873
> If you're really concerned you can remove the harness and pop open the torso on the seam

Removed harness, how do I go about popping this seem?

I forced his ab crunch all the way and had a look inside, can't work out what the loose rattle is, all I can see is the ab crunch is made of a clear plastic rod which doesn't inspire confidence but that isn't causing the issues at hand
>>
>>6409877
A good deal of heat, something to wedge in the seam and a steady hand

Messing with them at the moment and you can definitely pull stuff like that off without too much trouble depending on what you're going for. For example, there's a space between the lowest wing-tip and the one above it that homemade Spidey's wrist sorta fits into, and you can actually suspend him in the air with them like that part at the end, along with a few other grabby poses in general (though the gaps between tips aren't big enough to actually slot the wrist into like the bottom ones are), but you might want to use a stand for Vulture/the wings to help support it as he's not standing up too well given the heft of the wings/holding of another figure. You can even sort of do the vacuum seal bit too, I tried it as soon as I got home from the movie, though not without two big gaps due to the way the articulation works.

Also a word of warning, be wary of the peg that goes into Vulture's back, as mine and a few others have formed small, light stress marks from simply being put into/taken out of the figure, I might end up gluing mine in just to be safe.
>>
>>6406900
I don't really care about Spiderman, I'm more interested in the thunderbolts/sinister six making it into the MCU, but Homecoming was actually quite enjoyable. One of the better marvel movies, I thought, although it had to be considering what's riding on the movie's success, since they're committed to keeping their new tech-version spiderman with them here on in for like the next ten years of movieverse. Villain with believable motives as well as legit "trying to stay under the radar" behavior which you never see in capeshit (because normally the villain has to try to take over the world / target the hero for epic fight scene instead of, you know, keep his job and stay out of jail). Some actually tense scenes between the two, and lots of Spiderman fucking up due to inexperience which you also don't see a lot of in capeshit.

Don't really have a rating, but if you enjoy the marvel movies, it's one of the better ones. If you love the grimdarkedge of the DC verse, you'll hate it because it's not focused around uncle ben dying in front of batman.

Also, be prepared for how hot 50+ aunt May is.

I actually fucking love superman, and they should have built up the death of superman to do a hank henshaw sequel arc where they hype him to be the next big actor in the franchise and then have the big reveal in the movie.

Instead, in the superman sequel, I got a rushed cave troll doomsday, a punk'd level luthor, a rushed death of superman with no emotional impact or believably considering he's in the next movie for sure, and a superman movie where he has less lines than spiderman in civil war.

Did I really need batman's origin story in BATMAN presents: Superman 2: Batman the killer. ? No.

Meanwhile, the next movie has cyberdemons in it, which means doomsday, and they can't do brainiac because of ultron. So they are out of shit for superman to do in the DC verse.

You shit stain casual. I bet you unironically like grimdark gunwielding batman and damaged joker.

I don't get the hate, I like both and they both have their uses. Revo Spidey is on my shelf doing extreme pose and Pizza Spidey is in my toybox in case I get bored and need to fiddle with a Spidey figure. Never.

If we get Morph, it will be AOA Morph since it's the version most people know.

Also, there is a new Morph too. Bendis created a new one in his first X-Men arc, as part of his shameless pandering to X-Fags.
>>

Yeah, but no one gives a shit about that. It's a comic book. The bigass katana style claws are a pretty well known thing for Wolverine, and a fan favorite for a long time.

Don't bother responding
The majority of ML collectors just put their figs on a bookshelf in a boring ass neutral pose instead of doing anything remotely creative
It's why you don't see hardly any ML in the photo general
>>
>>6411803
While the claws are definitely a bit larger than usual, even at a more normal size he wouldn't be able to bend his wrists when his claws aren't out.
>>
so is the ML movie Spider-Man out? I've already gotten the revoltechs but don't mind a cheap, decent figure of the suit from Homecoming. I don't think I'm getting the SHF, will wait to see if Mafex will do one.
>>
>>6411851
People have been spotting his wave at retail for a couple weeks, and I just got him on amazon last night. Him and the homemade suit seem to be fairly scarce online at the moment, though.
>>
>>6411809
Hey man, I didn't say it had to be a canon team. I bought machine man for the hell of it and now they're sneaking in two more nextwave guys in the a force pack.

Spider man villains I don't really care about but if the scorpion is cool I'll buy him to appease six-year-old me's favourite bad guy.

I started a half assed version of rogue's team in supernovas but have added or ignored characters according to my whims. I mean, what are the chances I'll ever get cannonball, omega sentinel, or xforce forge? Is there a huge demand for stuck-in-the-lab beast in a lab coat, sweatervest and bowtie?

Just collect the figs you like and make up teams for them.

I dunno man, maybe that's not an autistic enough attitude for toy. Like, I still want wonderman because he looks like a cool toy but I know nothing about the character. I just think red glowy eyes head would be useful to have to bad guy headswaps.
>>
>>6411851
Mafex has already shown theirs off, it's up for preorder already even.

But yes, the Marvel Legends Homecoming wave has hit retail. I saw most of the wave at Walmart earlier this week. They had at least one of pretty much everyone, except Moon Knight, obviously.
>>

I need a group of bad guys or sentinels who don't cost a gorillion dollars before I'll pose them doing something other than the "basic team shot".

You know that that only ends up making people shit on you more, right?

The toys are fine, and the banter is normal. Get over it and grow some thicker skin. Almost every Legends and SHF release gets put through the wringer because faults are inescapable. I can look back on every Legends wave and pick out a litany of flaws, and know with confidence that it was covered here.

For anyone in Texas, HEBs seem to be randomly marking down Legends from 20 bucks to 15, I happen to check their toy aisle on a whim and got found a Green Goblin, Symbiote Spider-man, and Jackal, and they were all $15.00.

I used to think I was over figure collecting, but Gobby was too tempting, so I got him. Then a few days later I went back for the Spider-man two days later but they were back up to full price. Then I went to a different HEB this week and they had a shit selection of GotG peg-warmers, but they were still 15 bucks each.

Anyways, keep an eye out if you're out for groceries, I guess.

It's probably equal parts trying to sell the female character in the wave, which are known to sell poorly, and trying to find the box with the most room in it, since their female figures tend to be smaller and come with less.

I hate it so much. I would love to finish Sandman but I can't stand that shitty new miss marvel and they could've done like any number of more spider-man related women for that spot. It's the worst, I'm just gonna have to get her.
>>
>>6412119
Miss Marvel's one of my favorites and I'm really glad they gave her to us sooner than I expected. I didn't think they'd fit her in somewhere until Captain Marvel's movie.
>>
>>6412130

I would've rather had any of the female goblins or bride of venom or shriek or scream or something. I know they want to seem "current" but it's supposed to be a Spider-man series, and when they're giving Kamala a spot it just makes me think of the chicks we aren't getting.
>>
>>6412139
She's associated with Miles due to being on the Avengers with him and then Champions and fits better in a Spider-Man wave than any other at the moment.

And it's just one figure of a character a lot of people like, one of the only genuinely well-liked of their recent legacy characters. It's not like they're forcing all her associated characters into Spider-Man lines now. It was just one slot in one wave used to release her.
>>
>>6412141

They could've put her with Miles, then. Or in a new generation focused line, like with that lame kid Nova figure.
>>
>>6412144
They release Marvel Legends waves mostly depending on what movie's coming out. They're not gonna make a whole separate wave just for characters you don't want in other lines that don't fit into another one.

You've just gotta live with the fact that you're not going to like every figure in a wave sometimes.

I have the entire Homecoming wave

There is someone in my city with the entire 2nd Guardians 2 wave (mantis baf). He wants to trade wave for wave. I kind of really want the mantis baf. But here's my question, should I trade? Or will the Guardians wave go on clearance like the Tytus one? The only thing that's even making me consider is the prices that Adam Warlock is commanding on ebay.
>>
>>6412119
Ms. Marvel is the only figure that I bought from that wave. Now I'm stuck with a build a figure piece that I can never use. It is the worst.
>>
>>6412191
U could put it up on ebay. Or tRade it off. That's what I do. Most limbs sell for 8$ Shipped
>>
>>6412189

My experience is that the Homecomming Wave is 10000% easier to find than GotG2 wave 2. I have never seen any Mantis Wave, I have seen all of Homecoming except Moon Knight.

It's kind of what you want though.
>>
>>6412189
I'd stick with Homecoming, only GotG figure that got valuable was Adam so I definitely see the rest getting really cheap, especially the slightly different versions of characters that have been released already.

As for the Homecoming wave, you got an awesome Moonknight thats hard to find, Cosmic Spiderman hasnt gotten a new figure in years, the new Vulture looks cool as hell especially with all the wings, Tombstone is alright considering how long it's been since he's had a figure too, Beetle is the coolest version released in my opinion so far out of the other Beetles, web suit Spidey has a really textured body that is pretty neat, and homemade suit Spidey just looks neat to me.

Also you can grab Mantis for like $45 in Marvel Facebook trading groups right now and I've seen her on ebay for a lot less than the Vulture wings, so it'd cost less to get her than it would be to replace the Vulture BAF if you ever want it again.

Overall I just feel the GotG wave is easier to get financially than it costs to replace the Homecoming wave
>>
>>6412119

Whatever floats you boat. Ms Marvel is the only figure I wanted and bought.

>>
>>6412230
That's great, but I just want spider-man characters, from the shit I would read like 10 years ago. I doubt I'm the only person like that.

Shocker is the most valuable one for me personally, considering the last one was a ToyBiz one without elbow joints because of their dumbass action features.
>>

>>
>>6412236
Walgreens are so fucked up with their Legends. They'll have random shit from 4 years ago in clearance bins, I found an Agent Venom in one for 10 bucks, and I went to one tucked in the back of a ghetto neighborhood last month and they had the full Absorbing man series excluding Spider-Gwen and Venom.
>>
>>6412207

Honestly, I just don't really like Spiderman a ton or all of his periphery. It boggles me how they can put out 20 different Spidermans and 20 different Symbiotes every year.
>>
>>6412209

I really really hate the Build a Wing bull shit. I bought Vulture but I don't care about the rest of the wave except maybe Moon Knight.

My plan is to find some other wings to graft onto Vulture.
>>
>>6412250

Because people want those. You're more likely to see girl Beetle or Miss Marvel at a store than any version of Spider-man or any classic villain that's gotten 4 figures in the past six years.

People want Venom and Carnage, not Speed-Demon or Pumpkin face, even if it's the 3rd Venom they have, or the second Carnage, or a shitty version of Toxin. If they put out a Separation Anxiety box set with all those ridiculous 90s symbiotes like Lasher and Scream, that shit would be a best-seller.
>>
>>6412257
>If they put out a Separation Anxiety box set
Don't give them ideas, whoever's been picking the figures for the past few years has clearly had some fetish for that Superior Foes series, because every fucking villain they put out was a major character in that, and we're getting goddamn Tombstone and not Doc-Ock.

The left arm has the bit towards the elbow cut, so its still functional.

The funny thing is that I've not seen a single Walgreens purge any of their Punishers or Yellow DDs during any of the Avengers or Spider-Man clearances that've happened over the last year or whatever. The best clearance deal I've seen on their exclusives was a Walgreens that had 20+ Black Ants mark them all down to $5 each. I bought 4 and sold them online for cost plus shipping just to clear some out. And that Walgreens still has 7-8 Black Ants left. Hell, I'm still seeing the same several McFarlane Assassin's Creed figures at one of my Walgreens, in the same spot, and the price just yoyo's up and down from $7 clearance to $15.99 every few weeks.
>>
>>6412403
Well, her comic isn't actually selling that well.
>>
>>6412406

I always see Daredevils. It looks like a good figure, too, but when I'm on a hunt I'll see something decent that I probably would like, I just end up thinking the money I've set aside would be better spent on some potential better thing that I never end up finding and it's always a fool's errand.
>>
>>6412417
We'll, they'll likely put DD on clearance again at some point. That stuff usually comes down from corporate (barring the weird $5 Black Ant thing), so just wait it out and the Spider-man stuff will get marked down again. DD is listed under the Spider-Man UPC, or it was when it came out.

>>6412461
Yeah it's Spider-Man of course it fucking does. Even before Marvel was a viable brand with the success of their movies, Spider-Man was always profitable.
>>
>>6412574
>Yeah it's Spider-Man of course it fucking does.

Which brings us back to the point that it should've been a spider-man related female character instead of Miss Marvel, which is what started this entire debate.

Silver Sable or Shriek, or something.
>>
My local Walgreens from online check said that they had Invisible Woman, but when I went there she was not on the shelf.

Does any of you have experience with Walgreen find in store function? Do you have to ask the store clerk to pull it out of their storage?
>>
>>6412634
>a character doesn't sell as much as marvel's flagship character so it shouldn't get toys

by that logic marvel legends should be nothing but spider-men. no spider-man supporting characters, no villains. 100% spidey
>>
>>6412666
That's not by my logic at all.

No one wants Spider-Man by himself.
They want Spider-Man and guys for him to fight. That's why you'll find Spider-Man on a shelf more often than you'll find one of his marquee villains.

Don't be dense, and don't pretend like it's somehow unreasonable to want a Spider-Man wave to have only Spider-Man related characters. It's not like they haven't done it before, and it's not like there's a shortage of characters that haven't been done yet.

We've had dozens of waves of Spider-Man by now, dating back as far as ASM2 if I'm remembering correctly (ASM1 if you count the like, three figures as a wave) and I've got plenty of Spidey villains built up, one slot going to an up and coming character the general public seem to like isn't gonna kill anyone.

Helps that her figure is actually pretty good, too, though I'm horrified of her elbows.

At first glance that looks boring, but the recent MCU figures have been awesome. I'm optimistic that we'll finally get a great Iron Man and Cap. Taskmaster seems like an error (ie. Enchantress on the Thor: Ragnarok leak). Songbird, KC, and MCU Vision are welcome. Not excited for another Spidey.

Taskmaster would be my number one if he's a classic, less tech-y version than the last one. Maybe he's in the movie as "bad-ass but slightly mercenary" like Batroc or Crossbones in Winter Soldier.

And Kamala has both teamed up with Peter and been on two teams with Miles.

Face it you're just upset characters you don't like are getting figures.
>>
>>6413612
Kamala hasn't existed for 40 goddamn years.
>>
>>6413614
But all three of them have gotten toys? If we didn't literally just get a daredevil and moon knight I'd understand, but I straight up don't know what you're complaining about.

Kamala instead of a Spider-Man character. We still don't have a fucking Doctor Octopus in this series. And I'd rather have a Madame Web or Silver Sable than Miss Marvel.

>Iron Man x 2
Even Black Panther can't avoid pointless Iron Men

>>6413603
And not one of them is the movie version anyone wants

>>6413619
It's one fucking figure. One figure that other people who aren't you have said they were glad to get and you're acting like it's ruined your chances of ever getting anyone you want.

And literally no one but you wants a toy of Madame Web.

We still need a MCU version.
>>
Are there any cap figures or someone with a good alternate unmasked blonde guy head that would work for an unmasked Eddie Brock?

Kamala will sell way more than Madame Webb or Silver Sable, and adding non-Spider-Man characters gives them more options to pad out their Spider-Man line for a longer period, since that's clearly the long game strategy they're playing.

I meant the six pack of beers he's holding, not the hands

I didn't say they liked completing teams fast.

I mean, they're giving us two new nextwave characters I think two years after machine man, and one year after the dirk anger headswap?

(Plus some anons are still waiting for Overdrive.)

Presumably you'll get a new symbiote a year.

>Batroc or Crossbones
Neither of which got figures.
