Oh, heavens no. Less than twenty releases in four or five years, SRC has a better track record than AGP. Plus they're, for the most part, hella expensive for what they are. The Gundam Mk. II girls are hitting triple-digits USD, Uniko was a B/B on AmiAmi and she still wound up being almost $70 shipped. The only ones that I'd say are "worth it" are the ones from Wing that have kinda plateaued in value.

ya know the image in OP actually makes me want to see purposefully overscaled stuff for them. The way the buckles and bands look so huge on them is giving them a bit of a 'Borrowers' look to them that works pretty well. Just needs a bit more work to really hit that aesthetic full on.

Is there a good folder or site with all of these wallpapers? Does Werkstra have one? Just got my first smart phone and these make pretty good wallpapers if you crop them right.

This one's my favorite picture, though Zelnogrard's and the waffe sisters are nice too, but I don't feel right using her since I don't own her yet.

So I'm almost certain I'm just blind/retarded, but I cannot find these individual armor plates in MSGs. The only thing I could find remotely close to this was the FA Type 48's armor and the Freestyle shield. Are the bits in the pic actually just parts taken off of the bigger weapons, or is there dedicated armor MSG packs?

Not intentionally, but Materia and Innocentia come with two separate types of washers, one with a 3mm hole and one without.

I had a HG builder parts backpack cannon sitting around so I snapped one together to see if they worked on FAGs.

They do. The peg is a bit longer than innocentia's backpack holes, but the width is the same so it works just fine. Now to decide if I paint it up for her, or give it to someone else. Or give her two, since the set had a pair.

It had some things that were better about it, for sure, particularly the animation being largely 2D instead of 3D. They also did more with the girls going out and doing things on their own, whereas the girls in this show mostly stuck around Ao's house.

This show had its own advantages too, though. Ao was much more of a character than whatshisface, the show as a whole was certainly more of a meme machine, and of course it had the advantage that you could actually get your hands on your favorite FAG while the show was airing. There was also much more emphasis on the modeling aspect, which I thought was cute even if it didn't necessarily make much sense with what FAGs are in the anime.

This could have been a pretty trash show, but it turned out to be surprisingly fun. It was a good time.

They dialed back on that a ways in the second half. The fights were never great, but they were at least a little better.

Hres was second-best girl, only behind Architect. She's an always-perky blood knight who boots down your door so she can challenge you to fight and it's great. Most of the fights in the second half of the show involve her, since she's even more overpowered than Gourai, but she's a lot more engaging about it because of the different way she fights and because she's the sort of chuuni girl to actually have named finishing moves.

A lot of the Busou Shinki fights were 3D. It was just good enough 3D you largely didn't notice.

The difference is Busou Shinki used hand drawn models while FAG used computer rendered models.

My biggest gripe was Gourai's ears. Making them visible altered her appearance too much and didn't look natural to her model. When they drew her 2D they hid her ears again.

The display photos are still a pretty good match for the range of colors we're running here though, I'm not horribly concerned about that. I've got a bit of flat coated runner I've been meaning to play with and now that I've been prompted to drag out my pencils it looks like you're right; the best looking colors I've got for shading are coconut, coffee and chocolate, obviously all browns. I think I'll be going with chocolate but it's hard to say until I have color on her actual head.
